"Hi, excuse me, can I ask a question about Classes?" asked Vivian.

 

"Classes?" replied the receptionist.

 

"Like Thief, Warrior, Herbalist, etc..."

 

"Sure, what do you want to know?"

 

"How do I explain this? Um... My Class is supposed to be Thief but until now I don't even have any Thief-type skills. And I'll be honest with you, I'm really confused what's even the point of having this Class or any Class."

 

The receptionist's eyes glanced at the copper-colored pendant around Vivian's neck and then at her face.

 

"How long have you been a member of the Temple of Thieves?"

 

Vivian thought about it for a moment.

 

After all, she doesn't have the memories of the original owner of this body.

 

Fuck…

 

I hope this answer is correct…

 

"Not long enough."

 

"You've never changed Class?"

 

"No."

 

The receptionist paused and thought for a moment.

 

"Do you have any idea about Class Magic and Lore Magic?"

 

"Not enough. But can you explain them in more detail?" Vivian said and scratched her head. “I’m not really a smart person and I tend to be quite forgetful you see.”

 

"There are 3 types of skills, magic or whatever you want to call it. But for simplicity's sake, let's just call them: Normal Magic, Class Magic and Lore Magic.

 

"For Normal Magic, it’s divided into 2 categories: Physical Arts and Magic Arts.

 

"Meanwhile, for Class Magic, these are magic skills and spells that can only be learned while equipping a certain class.

 

"Your current Class is Thief, right? To learn the Class Magic of the Thief Class, you must perform Thief-related actions or deeds until you learn one.

 

"But make no mistake, just because you're a Thief, that doesn't mean you have to go around stealing things and break the law, okay? Go to the Temple of Thieves. They can properly guide you on how you can learn them without landing yourself in prison or putting yourself in unnecessary danger.

 

“And then there's Lore Magic. This kind of magic, although there are no requirements, not everyone can learn them, no matter how hard one tries because to acquire one solely depends on the will of the Gods. In addition to that, not all Lore Magic come with magical effects. Furthermore, the most important of all, not everyone would want to acquire Lore Magic because some Lore Magic that comes with magical effects can be considered as a curse rather than a blessing."

 

"If one has Lore Magic, is it possible to get rid of it or be taken away?" asked Vivian.

 

In her head, she had the Lore Magic [Otherworldly] which comes with the effect [Growth] which boosts her learning time to x5. If she were to lose that, it would be a huge problem for her.

 

"That I don't know."

 

"Let's say I want to change my Class, what are the requirements?"

 

"One has to pay a fine of 10 gold to their former Temple. And depending on the Temple, some Temples would ban the former member from returning to their Temple ever again. But for the Temple of Thieves, I don't recall them having that sort of ban."

 

"And to join a new Temple there are no fees or requirements?"

 

"Yes, anyone can join, no matter their status -- well, except criminals."

 

"Even nobles and royals?"

 

"Yes. Also, depending on the country, some would only allow its citizens to get a Class once they become 15 years old."

 

As far as Vivian knows, Adventurers are not allowed to be involved in any country's politics.

 

She shook her head mentally.

 

I guess even in this world politics is always very complicated…

 

Or is that always the case regardless of the location…?

 

But whatever the case, I guess I can assume that Temples in this world hold a huge influence on society…

 

She made a huge mental note not to offend any Temple.

 

I'm also amazed that this receptionist knows such things…

 

Or perhaps this is just common knowledge and I'm the weird one here…?

 

I should go to the Temple of Thieves and ask…

 

But should I ask where is it…?

 

I don't want to look even more suspicious…

 

Maybe I'll just ask other people, perhaps the Adventurers…

 

"I see. Thank you," Vivian said and was about to turn around and leave.

 

"Just a word of advice."

 

Vivian stopped.

 

"I've seen so many rookie Adventurers get into trouble trying to gather money in order to pay the 10 gold fine. Whether you're going to change Class or not, please keep in mind that choosing a Class isn't just about how strong, popular or profitable it is. Another important thing to consider is your personality. That's all I can say."

 

Vivian bowed.

 

"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I promise to always keep all the information you told me in mind."

 

Vivian finally left.

She recalled everything she had done so far, or at least since yesterday.

 

Does gathering information count…?

 

I guess that falls under Researcher…?

 

Assuming that there’s even a Class called Researcher…

 

But then again, everyone researches or gathers information in one way or another…

I used to sneak behind those monsters…

 

But ever since those monsters, the ones who were supposedly not aggressive became aggressive, I was no longer able to sneak…

I've also been checking if there were any peepholes and trap doors in the rooms I've rented…

 

Doesn't that count as well…?

 

But how many times do I have to do that before a Class Magic appears…?

 

I mean, I have the x5 boost…

 

So unless I'm doing something wrong, I should've gotten it by now, right…?

 

Vivian felt her head starting to ache.

 

I should've asked how long does it take to learn Class Magic…

 

She shook her head.

 

I should definitely check out the Temple of Thieves…

Her stomach made a sound and she quickly looked around her.

 

There were people walking around but they didn't seem to notice.

 

Or at least that's what she wants to believe.

She looked at the coin pouch she just received.

 

10 copper coins for 15 hearts of that trunk monster…

 

I earned a total of 30 copper coins today…

 

Or 3 silvers…

 

And I almost died…

 

Vivian couldn't help but chuckle and shake her head.

 

She decided to walk and find a place to eat.

 

Where should I eat…?

 

At Shirley's Tavern or the one that's next to the place I'm currently staying in…?

 

She recalled the awkward conversation between the 2 men she heard earlier.

 

As uncultured as those people are, I still learned a few things…

 

But then again, I know close to nothing about this world so maybe what they said was just basic knowledge…

 

I just hope it isn't more expensive than Shirley's…
