The Struggle of a Young TS Yuki-Onna. Chapter 28

Character cheat sheet. This is mainly for me, and people who took a break from the novel.

Yukiya Kitahara(北原雪哉) now (雪耶): The protagonist. A junior high student, 14, and  now a Snow girl. Short black hair, beautiful pale skin.

Syuuji Kitahara(北原修司): Yukiya's father, and owner of the Snow House.(雪乃亭) Which is located in Hyousei Village(氷清村)

Yukino(雪乃): Yukiya's mother, and is a snow woman/ Yuki Onna.

Hazuki Natsumi(夏美) and Saeki Tomonori(智則): Yukiya's friends and classmates.

Kouko(凍子). The evil young Yuki Onna. Sharp eyes, and long black hair.

(W-Where am I. . ?)

Stumbling out of his stupor, the half awake Uemura's senses began to return to him.

Little by little, he began to be able to move.

"Huh. . ."

He managed to barely raise his body to survey his surroundings.

A small hut. He was lying in a small hut. His friends were still around him.

However they were not moving. There were no signs of them being conscious. Apparently he was the only one awake..

(Oh, that's right. We had a disaster and were taking shelter in a hut. . .)

He looked around the hut, or to be more specific, the ruin. 

Segments of the walls were peeled off. Wind was constantly finding ways in. 

It was barely a cover from the outside forces.

It wasn't like this when they first got there- – –

The snow began to continue to blow in there without mercy.

He looked over to where the fire place was supposed to be, however it was covered in snow. It was impossible for a fire to ever be started there. There was no charcoal or ash near. No signs it was ever lit.

He thought it was a fire but then realized it was just an illusion. Was all that warmth just from them being near each other?

(How is that possible? Was it a hallucination?)

He checked his phone to see if there was a signal and was surprised to find that barely any time has passed since they arrived at the hut.

It felt like hours but it was only a short 20 minutes.

"Oww!"

As he pondered how this was possible, a cry snapped him out of it.

(What was that voice?)

Based on the tone, it was the voice of a young girl.

Moreover, it sounded like they were in some kind of danger.

"Uhh. . ."

Uemura slowly struggled to his feet. His legs were wobbling but he persisted. He staggered to the doorway and looked outside. 

The snowstorm was still going on, but it somewhat calmed down.

"What the heck is happening over there?"

He couldn't believe his eyes.

In front of the ruins, there were the mysterious kimono girls fighting each other.

Except there was one more. Instead of three there were now four girls.

At first he thought it was just another friend of theirs, but they don't seem to be getting along.

Also the atmosphere around her is different from the other ones.

Unlike the other, the short haired girl seemed kind of human.

She was full of life, unlike her cold peers.

Looking closer at the situation, Uemura recognized that it was her alone facing two others. But she was standing her ground. Honestly her posture and fighting style to the way a young boy would fight.

However. . .She seemed steadfast. 

She struck decisively and didn't hesitate in her reactions when her opponents attacked. And she was not afraid of fighting dirty. She fought ferociously. 

That couldn't be said for her opponents. They seemed to not be used to such quarrels, easily being disarmed and dismissed. Always reluctant to commit to any of their attacks.

All three of them were a mess. Hair uneven and clothes in disarray. 

"O-Ow! Stop! Not the hair. That's my favorite hair ornament I prepared it specifically for today!"

"That's my important obi my mother gave me!"

"Wait, stop, don't pull my hair!"

Even though they were fighting, the bad girls were whining. 

However the girl on defense never wavered. It's like she was fighting for something more important than herself.

"So annoying. But we can't win this time."

The girls eventually separated. The venomous girls spit that out as they helped one of their friends up and began to flee. Perhaps the fight was overwhelming that they simply gave up.

"We'll remember this!"

They called out the classic line and hurried away from the hut.

"Then I'll kick your ass again!"

The one remaining girl threw out as she watched them run away.

After seeing these series of events, Uemura interpreted that this girl genuinely came to help them. She scared off those other dangerous girls.

With a heart filled with relief, he collapsed to the ground again.

After confirming that the girls ran away, she went to the hut.

"Are you alright. . ?"

Despite being covered in dirt and snow, she rushed over to Uemura and the others.

"U, Uhh. . ."

Uemura was no longer alone.

The child felt relieved to see he was still alive and that him and his friends met no harm.

"Good, everybody is still breathing."

She made sure to check the status of each and every one of the fallen college students.

However she knew she couldn't carry them. None of them were in the shape to move on their own.

"I'll get help right away, so be firm until then."

The snowstorm began to weaken before they knew it. The thick clouds gradually began to dissipate. Moonlight pierced from the night sky, illuminating their surroundings. The ice cold labyrinth faded away.

Reality was returning.

"Th. . ank. . .Y . . o . . u."

Barely holding on to consciousness, he looked up towards their energetic savior and muttered. 

He looked closely at her face.

It had a somewhat familiar feel.

But his vision and mind were hazy so he was unsure.

(Where have I seen her before. . .? Yes, that store. . .the young girl from that small store. . .)

All of the events that just happened were flowing through his mind. Phantom like girls came to the hut and were luring him and his friends there. Then another girl suddenly came to rescue them. 

Knowing that his friends are now safe, he peacefully dove back into the darkness.

His last thoughts were "Is this reality or am I going insane?"

With that, the fight scene is now complete. It pretty much just became a full out group fight, and then they ran away right at the end. I'm sure this isn't the last time we'll see them. I wonder if their leader will contemplate and perhaps have a change of heart. But who knows.

Anyways, the next chapter is going to be in 5-6 days. Two new chapters of quad sisters came out, so I'm going to translate that. I may just do one, and then a chapter of this and bounce back. I don't know how long it will take me. But it shouldn't be too long.
