Author:

Character cheat sheet. This is mainly for me, and people who took a break from the novel.

Kouko(凍子). The evil young Yuki Onna. Sharp eyes, and long black hair.

TN: Mamuni

Okay. They are attacking me. . .

And that first shot hurt.

I was blown away and buried into the snow.

Well I guess that's to be expected when I am going against a trained Yuki Onna.

It hurts to move. . .but I can endure it. Despite the impact, none of my internal organs are injured. Is my body resistant to it?

"Ara ara, you're still conscious? Well that is good. Because that means I can enjoy this a bit more."

W-was that a villain line?

I struggled up and shook my head.

Snow was clinging to my hair and kimono. In fact some snow got in my mouth.

"Bewg."

I spit the snow out of my mouth and then shook the rest off of me.

It was powdered snow that accumulated. So it easily clung to things.

"Ahahaha, how unsightly."

"So plain, you got what you deserved."

I could hear the other snow women spit venom at me in the distance.

They are ugly people all right. But none of their words phase me. Maybe if I was raised to be a graceful diligent maiden it would hurt to be called boring and unsightly, but unfortunately for them, they are merely wasting their breath.

"You should have just laid down and given up, but if you really want to fight. So be it."

She held up her hand towards me once again.

Ice crystals began to converge.

"Ahahaha, Kouko-chan, Finish it."

The other snow girls egged her on.

They became more and more vulgar.

This is starting to get scary, and I can't help but want to just run away.

"I'll crush you – –"

The particle of ice that gathered around her palms became as small as bullets.

Immediately after it  was formed, she shot them in another storm of ice bullets.

"Haah."

This time I was prepared. I quickly waved my hand.

A whirlwind of wind and ice followed behind hands. It was strong enough to deflect the frozen bullets.

This technique of manipulating a blizzard was taught to me during my mother's hellish training- – -I honestly still don't understand the principles behind it, but it is still useful.

Fuu, my mother's special training saves me once again.

"W-What? So you really are a Yuki Onna?"

The other girls were astonished.

"Fuu, This is no big deal for me."

I bluffed.

Electric tingling was coursing through my arms that was on the other side of my blizzard. I might have deflected it, but it still really hurt. It was like a child catching an adult thrown baseball. Like yeah, they stopped the ball, but the force of the impact is going to hurt.

She is a pure snow girl that grew up in the mountains. Of course she out skills me in every possible way.

I can't keep up doing this, my freshly learned abilities can only get me so far.

From my experience when I was a boy, it is a rule that you should avoid fighting somebody stronger than you.

You can't depend on anime hero victories. So with me knowing that, how do I face this.

It's stupid to believe I can some how beat them at their own game.

So should I do- – –

I should think outside of the box. But I need to act immediately.

"It's not over yet!"

I yelled to put my opponent on guard.

However instead of attacking them with my crude ice attacks.

I shot my snowstorm downward.

Her prepared battle eyes then went into shock.

"What the heck!?"

I continued shooting down in a barrage of effort. Freshly deposited snow fluttered down to form a snow cover all around me.

"W-What, where? I can't see."

The force was enough to put a white curtain between us.

The snow was soft and fluffy enough for it to easily float through the air. I hope this was enough to distract her from making any ice bullets, and also it has the added bonus of her not knowing where I am.

On the other hand. I know she isn't moving. So I know exactly where she is.

I ran with all my might.

To then jump at her.

"Eh?"

From the visage of the smoke screen, I lunged at my opponent. By the time she noticed me and tried to release her ice bullets, it was too late.

"Kyaaa."

I tackled the surprised girl, pushing her onto the ground.

With them this close, her skill as a Yuki Onna are pointless.

"W-What the?"

I quickly positioned myself in a dominant grapple position.

It was the mount position. I have a good advantage.

I actually took judo classes when I was a kid, and often sparred with the other boys.

I quickly repositioned myself to entangle her right arm with both of my legs and gripped the end of it.

"Ow, stop. What are you doing?"

I used my own thighs to tighten around my opponent's appendage and had my feet past her head. She was now in an armlock. I tightened my grip and applied pressure. I can't go easy on her.

The more she struggles, the more painful it will become.

However she probably doesn't know better, and will put herself in a worse position.

"Do you want to submit? Say you will, and I'll quit now. You just have to promise to not hurt those people."

"Oww, why. . .why do you even care. . .even though you are Yuki Onna."

"Why. . ? Because I am the snow daughter of Yukino!"

I cried as I tightened my grip.

"Ahh."

She could not withstand it, and fainted from the pain.

"W-What did you do to Kouko-chan?- – -"

The other Yuki Onnas that were in a daze of confusion snapped out of it and let the men they were holding to the ground. They then dashed towards you. I let go of the fainted girl and face my new opponents.

"You plain bitch!"

"Ahh!"

"Not the face!"

"How troublesome! Separate from her!"

"Oww, don't bite!"

Outside the hut with shrills in the air, a complete brawl began.

Another chapter, and I love how Yukiya solved the problem. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Just punch'em. Or tackle them in this case. It pretty much became a cat fight at the end.

I also like how Yukiya isn't actually OP. or mystically powerful. She is the weak one, and the one in disadvantage. So I love the solution. We'll see how this goes next chapter.

And that will be in 3-4 days. Maybe sooner.
