I woke up early in the morning to find my Yuki Onna mother had taken me up deep into the mountain. With different clothing, and a new deep understanding of myself.

Two weeks have passed since then.

Now it's time for me to finally return to the Snow House.

We quickly arrived home thanks to my mother's mysterious path finding.

She made a pretty loud noise when she opened the door, thanks to the bell attached to it.

"We're home- – -"

My mother's bright beautiful voice announced our arrival.

My father wasn't far from us. He was simply sitting alone at the cash register.

He was reading a horse racing magazine.- – -While also smoking cigarettes. . .

However once he saw his wife and child was home, he immediately extinguished his cigarette, dumped the newspaper, and got up.

"Yukino, Yukiya. You guys are back early."

"Syuu-chan, I told you we would return today, right?"

"Oh, welcome back."

And then they hugged.

They were embracing so tightly. It's a bit uncomfortable. I couldn't help but look away.

"O, Oo. . ."

"Look, Syuu-chan. . .Go on Yukiya, greet your father."

She nudged me forward to give a greeting.

"My name is Yukiya(雪耶). Please refer to me by this name from now on.(Said in a monotone voice.)"

(TN: The kanji for Yukiya changed from (雪哉) to (雪耶))

Haaah. . .You may be wonder, Why is that. . .?

It's because I've changed. Currently I am standing by the entrance wearing a kimono similar to my mother.

In just about half a month, everything has changed.

I am now a Yuki Onna. A snow girl with beautiful white skin and short black hair.(It's worth noting that Yukiya is still using Boku to refer to themselves. Which as you may know, sort of boyish.)

"Our child has properly awoken her Yuki Onna blood. I thought it would take a little longer, but she did it quite quickly."

"That's wonderful, Yukiya."

"Yeah yeah."

I simply said in response. I experienced hell up there. Constantly one step close to death.

Yeah I understand I look beautiful and gentle, but my heart has been disciplined thanks to my mother's brutal training. I was forced to awaken it.

At Least it's over now. . .I just want to forget about those terrible times now.

However, I can't forget them. Those exhausting, painful feelings during that snow hell storms on the mountain. Every single day, walking, standing, and enduring them. Even if I understood my situation doesn't mean it awoken.

Every time, it was painful. Every time it was tough.

And then that day it finally happened. . .

"Interesting. It seems that you will awaken soon."

"No more. . .Please. . ."

I finally collapsed.

My body is so cold. It won't move.

Ah, am I already dead? I don't want to die. . . I want to go home. I want to be by the mild heated blanket, and eat tangerines.

There is so much stuff I left unfinished. Can I at least throw away my naughty books under my bed?

I want that. I want that so much. . .

Then I began to feel something. Well actually the lack of something. I no longer felt cold.

Is it over?. . .

I'm not sure. 

I thought my body and mind froze. I believed they did. I accepted they did. However, then I felt an energy overflow through me. It came deep from within and expanded.

Steadily it overwhelmed me.

W-What is this. . ?

It felt like an invisible energy that covered my whole body.

Head, chest, stomach down to legs.

I felt reborn.

My body suddenly became lighter.

My fatigue and coldness went away.

Was this amazing thing asleep in my body the whole time?

"Uaaaaaa"

I unintentionally moaned when I realized it.

Am I in heaven now? I opened my eyes, but I was still standing in the snow. 

In the form of a girl wearing a kimono. . .Nothing changed?

"W-what is this. . .?"

I'm not cold at all. And I'm standing in the middle of a blizzard with a single thin kimono.

"Huh. . ."

"Yukiychan!"

Then I suddenly heard my mother's voice.

"W-What happened. . .?"

"I'm so happy. You have finally awakened."

"Awaken?"

My mother was hugging me as she said that.

Yet it's different.

Recently whenever she touched me it was ice cold. However, now it isn't. And we are both in a raging snowstorm.

It must be the strange energy I feel overflowing from me.

I checked, and though dim. I could see a white aura covering my body.

"W-What is this?"

"It seems that you haven't stabilized your aura yet, but it should be fine because it's calming down."

"My aura?"

"Yes, Your aura is a force that connects you to the mountain spirit. It is the power and link which Yuki Onna's have."

"I-I see. . ."

I still don't fully understand.

"You did your best. "Yukiya(雪耶)"-chan."

"Huh,. . .?"

What? What did she just call me?

It's my name, but she said it a bit strangely.

"Why did you call me that. . .?"

"Because you are Yukiychan now."

That reminds me of something. Something that I heard from my father when he and my mother decided on my name.

According to my father. Him and my mother decided it was always going to be Yukiya. However, if I was a boy it would be Yukiya with a (雪哉). If I was a girl it would be Yukiya(雪耶). A single Kanji difference.

"Now way. . ."

I never knew.

So my name was just Yukiya so it could be a boy or girl name. So this was anticipated right from the start!?

"I'm glad I had a boy, but I always knew there was a possibility of you being a girl in the future. I think the name was a good solution."

"I knew it!"

"Ar – -Unless, Yukiko-chan or Yukimi-chan is better?"

"Please, just Yukiya. . "

I give up.

"Well, then let's continue with our training, Yukiychan."

. . .That how my Yuki Onna blood awakened, and my new life began.

"Welcome home, Yukiya! My daughter!"

"Uwaa!"

"You look just like your mother! So cute!"

"Dad, it's me! That's creepy!"

"Yukiya!"

And then suddenly I was grabbed and held tightly.

"Gyaaa! It's cold! I'm going to die!"

And immediately was let go as he writhed to the floor.

"Syuu-chan, Yukiychan is currently in Yuki Onna mode. Don't just grab her carelessly."

It took a little while, but he was eventually able to regain his composure.

"I thought I was going to die. . ."

"Yukiychan is pretty much the same as I was back then. . ."

My mother then grabbed and held me. She was fine.

This is nice, but honestly I am just happy to be home.

I've seen hell, and I'm grateful to be alive.

I never want to experience that again.

Now it is done. Sorry for the delay. Got depressed. Chapter release might be a bit sporadic. As I start to stabilize. On another note, it's cool to see that our main character is finally accepting their situation. Took a few chapters, but they are back to reality. . .Or fantasy novel reality.
