The General Who Hates Me Chapter 279 - Entertainment

"You're so mean…" Keira scolded her husband when Zach told her about Torin and Lyra.

Zach was still laughing when Keira reprimanded him as her face crumpled, "Torin saved your life, and you are trolling him like that!?"

Zach looked at his wife and stopped laughing when he saw Keira's troubled expression. 

"I will not prolong it, of course. I just want Torin to work harder for Lyra. I mean, I think it would benefit Lyra more if I let Torin experience a little bit of hardship before he succeeded in getting her hand in marriage. That way, he would appreciate and love Lyra even more…" Zach explained his side.

Keira pouted her lips as she was trying to process Zach's explanation in her head. "Still, don't you dare make it harder for him. I like Torin, and if not for him, you would have been the one to lose a kidney, or even worse, die!"

Zach hugged Keira and kissed her head dotingly as he murmured, "Roger, my beloved star… I won't make it too hard for him, so don't worry. Just let me handle this man to man with him. There's no other man in the world that I would trust Lyra with more than Torin. But it's just fun to see him get trolled for a bit…"

The two were in the entertainment room, which had been their favorite room lately. Well, correction, it was Keira's favorite room. She pressed the remote control of their Karaoke machine and chose a song. 

"Here, sing this song…" Keira instructed as she handed Zach the microphone

Zach's face grew weary and tried to deflect, "Aren't you tired of my voice? Ask me to do anything but sing…"

Even he could not bear to hear his own singing voice, so he really could not understand why Keira would always want him to sing. She would cheer for him but also laugh at him all throughout the song. So he added, "Do you want our 'babies' to become tone-deaf too?"

Keira would always correct him if he said 'baby' instead of 'babies.' She was really convinced that she was carrying twins, even though their first ultrasound couldn't really detect much yet. Especially after meeting a doctor named Deyna Song, her conviction about having twins had grown even stronger.

Keira gave him a downcast look, so Zach immediately grabbed the microphone from her even though his own face was twisted.

"Yehey, daddy will sing." Keira cheered as she grabbed another apple. Keira had been eating a lot more than usual lately, and Zach would not be surprised if soon she would double her size.

The song started, and Zach was about to sing when one of their helpers knocked and said they had visitors. Keira stopped the music and asked who it was.

"It's Mr. and Mrs. Russo, Madam," answered the helper. Keira's face lit up as she gushed, "Oh, I forgot, they came back yesterday, and Drey said they were visiting today." Then she instructed the helper, "Please escort them here and bring us more snacks and drinks. Thank you."

"Why here? We can just receive them in the living room," Zach questioned. He had the feeling he would encounter something embarrassing inside the entertainment room soon.

"It's boring there. It's more fun here…" Keira answered as she blinked her eyes to her very doting husband, feigning ignorance.

As soon as Cielo and Drey entered the room, Keira rushed to them and hugged them tightly. Drey's eyes were wet with tears as he caressed Keira's cheeks. "Look at you. Oh, God… Thank God you're safe and sound," Drey murmured as he hugged Keira once more.

Keira narrowed her eyes when Drey released her and teased him, "So tell me, did you enjoy your honeymoon?"

Drey wiped his tears, yet his face reddened. Keira laughed and gestured for the two to sit. "Congratulations, Keira, you're going to be a mom!" Cielo congratulated her.

When the drinks and snacks arrived, Keira handed the microphone to Zach again, as she played the music. Cielo's eyes widened in horror as she unconsciously gulped, "Oh, please, no…."

Keira laughed as she squealed, "Oh, please, yessssss!"

Cielo quickly looked for a headset inside her bag. If there was one thing in Zach she could find fault with, it was his singing ability because it truly was an awful racket.

She looked at Drey, who was looking confused. He did not understand why Cielo would act so panicky. "I think we came at the wrong time," Cielo murmured as she cringed when Zach started to sing.

Drey, who was drinking his juice, almost choked on his drink when Zach began to sing. His jaw dropped as Zach continued to sing. He had never heard anyone sing so badly until now.

Then he shifted his gaze to Keira, who was cheering for her husband enthusiastically and lovingly. She would occasionally clapped and shouted, "Woohoo! My General is the best!"

Drey murmured to Cielo as he kept looking at Keira like she was the maddest person in the world, "So this is how crazy a pregnant woman can be?"

Cielo laughed and answered, "You'll experience it first hand if we succeeded in baking our second bun, so don't worry."

Drey flinched as a scene suddenly popped into his head. It was of him dancing while Cielo cheered him up, just like what Keira was doing to Zach right now. He hated dancing! He cowered as he suddenly thought of all the ridiculous things Cielo might ask him once she got pregnant.

He looked at Zach. He was also doing things out of his comfort zone just to please his pregnant wife, and to make her smile and laugh.

Meanwhile, Cielo was enjoying the conflicted look on Drey's face, so she leaned closer to him and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll be lenient with you. I'll probably just ask you to strip dance. Or pole dance while naked?"

Drey was mute with horror as Cielo cracked up and joined Keira. The room reverberated with the two women's laughter, while the men could only helplessly show their protest and objection inwardly.
