If Han Qilu doesn’t hang out with Mankuai, then she wouldn’t continue attending classes at Stein . Suddenly, Xinwei is pondering Xiaonan’s proposal .

Truth be told, Xinwei isn’t concerned about the school flower title, but she knows Mankuai would steal the limelight from her . When she heard from Xiaonan how Mankuai robbed Han Qilu from An Chuxia, she felt pity for Chuxia . After giving it some thought, Xinwei asks Meng Xiaonan, “What are we going to do?”

“I know, you don’t have to remind me,” Mo Xinwei says, smiling . “Why are you familiar with The Art of War?”

Meng Xiaonan can’t help but sigh . “Because it’s common sense literature? We would be able to get to know her if we head to the gate and block her from entering!”

“Someone like her would have a bodyguard, right? You really think you can stop her?” Taoqiu licks her lips . “I have an idea . Come with me!”

As time passes, the temperature gradually rises . The pigeons in front of the clock tower are leisurely walking and pecking on the scattered bird food . Suddenly, three figures approach . The pigeons are not afraid of people, but they still steer clear from them . There are some people rumored to hurt pigeons; they don’t want to find out that the three approaching would hurt them .

“We almost got caught!” The three are relieved to have passed through the danger zone .

“I heard on TV that she’d be arriving behind the building . ” Meng Xiaonan says, standing at the corner of the school gate . She’s at an advantageous position: she can see the side of the school, and still remain hidden .

Finally, Xiaonan impatiently walks out of her hiding place . She looks at the clock tower and at Mo Xinwei and Taoqiu’s hiding place and shouts, “Your data is inaccurate! I can’t even see my own shadow!”

Mo Xinwei and Taoqiu are also getting a little impatient from waiting . They were about to come out from their hiding place when a car suddenly parks in front of the gate .

The girls’ instinct is that this is the car they’ve been waiting for . Sure enough, the girl who steps out of the car is wearing an off-the-shoulder top and a miniskirt . It is the long-awaited Mankuai .

“Do you think models like her would take the initiative to talk to you?” Mo Xinwei asks, patting her hair while she wets her lips . “Beautiful people talk only to other beautiful people . ”

“I’m not in the mood to bicker with you right now . ” Meng Xiaonan recalls her meeting with Mankuai . She is more beautiful without all that makeup she wears on TV . She thought people on TV aren’t beautiful in real life . She didn’t expect to be proven wrong, very wrong!

“Although I didn’t see her up close, let’s talk about your [next] encounter . What should we do?” Mo Xinwei asks with interest .

Xiaonan clears her throat and says, “The next move is to wait for An Chuxia to return to school . ”

“Isn’t that next week?” Taoqiu asks as she snatches the book from Xiaonan’s hand to block the sun from her face . Although she’s not particularly beautiful, she firmly believes there aren’t ugly women, just lazy ones!

Meng Xiaonan shoots Taoqiu a look of contempt after she snatches the book . “You’re blocking the sun [with my book] when I’m paler than you!”

Taoqiu was about to respond when she sees Xiao Mingluo from a distance, approaching Meng Xiaonan . Taoqiu and Xinwei look at each other with tacit understanding, and wave goodbye to Xiaonan .

“Look, if your mom leaves you half-dead, I’ll take you to the hospital . ” Xiao Mingluo glances at her, his eyes are filled with mischief . “Are you becoming forgetful? Do you dare lie to the teacher next time?”

“It’s not that I lied… . ” Meng Xiaonan still wants to defend herself . She didn’t even realize that Mingluo has grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the school gates, leaving her no opportunity to explain .

Is he really going to take her home? That can’t happen! Once they pass a light post, she hugs it, refusing to move forward .

Xiao Mingluo laughs at the flustered Xiaonan . “You’re marked absent already . That fact doesn’t change whether you’re in school or not . Let’s head to my house first . ”

“Hey!” Suddenly, the tension coursing through Xiaonan releases . She follows Xiao Mingluo, but her steps aren’t as light .

She knows the Xiao family isn’t close-knit . Comparing her family to his, they’re nothing . The reason Mingluo wants her to study hard is to keep up appearances . Meng Xiaonan can’t appear in front of Mingluo’s parents as herself; the least she can do is become a university scholar .

This is Mingluo’s idea . Xiaonan knows that even if she graduates from a prestigious university, it would be unlikely for his parents to accept her . After all, he’s the Xiao Group’s heir . She’s only a daughter of a company starter who runs a real estate company, and they don’t have that much money .
