“Let’s sit where they take us . ” Lao Ling doesn’t even turn red in embarrassment . Instead, he asks, “Grandson, what do you want to eat?”

Ling Hanyu just stares at his feet once he’s seated . He’s embarrassed . Since birth, he has never eaten a king’s meal, and he has always tipped well .

“You can choose yourself . ” Ling Hanyu says with sting . Obviously, he can call Kuni or one of the men to make the payment with a credit card .

The old man boasts about being cheeky . He would follow his grandfather, but the old man is enough for both of them!

“Then I will!” Lao Ling says calmly . He fans the menu but inconspicuously looks at Hanyu .  Brat!

He sees their reflection on the window, and it truly amuses him to see Hanyu look so embarrassed when he really wants to order a king’s meal . So much so, he wants to laugh .

“How about doing this: we’ll order all the signature dishes in the restaurant . It’s our first time here, and we don’t know what’s delicious . ” Lao Ling hands the menu to the waiter . Once the server leaves, he kicks Hanyu from under the table and says, “Don’t be afraid . Grandpa is here . ”

“What are you doing, old man?!” Hanyu frowns . “If word spreads, they’ll throw us out!”

Seeing Hanyu furious, Lao Ling smiles and points to the corner of the restaurant . He sees Han Qilu and Xiang Mankuai . “Isn’t that them?”

Hanyu follows the direction the old man’s pointing . His eyes widen . It turns out the old fox has already spotted Qilu, and that’s why he’s so bold .

“Qilu, come over!” Lao Ling shouts, his strong and powerful voice carries over like a leader’s .

Han Qilu looks up upon hearing his name . He’s surprised to see that the source is Lao Ling . He’s surprised to see the old man’s face, red from yelling . Not many get to see Lao Ling, but his name appears in major political news .

“It seems Lao Ling is also eating here . ” Han Qilu tells Mankuai .

Lao Ling points at the chairs and gestures them to sit down . “I haven’t eaten with you for quite a while . Sit down and eat a little . Don’t turn down my gracious invite . ”

Han Qilu decides to sit, so Mankuai complies . The food is served shortly . Lao Ling says something unrelated to money . “Have you recovered from your head wound?”

“Thank you for your concern . I’ve been healing well,” Han Qilu says, smiling at Mankuai . “I’m thankful to her, being with me throughout my injury . I can’t be any better . ”

Mankuai smiles as she listens to Qilu’s praises . However, she says nothing . In all honesty, she didn’t take care of Han Qilu when they were in the States . She only showed up when she had time . She expects Han Qilu not to remember any of that . She remembers the first time she went to see him, fearing he would send her away .

His amnesia is her gift from God . She has been happy ever since that moment .

But she didn’t expect the seemingly kind Lao Ling to say something rude .

“Well, she’s so intimate with you, you have to wine and dine her to show gratitude . ” Lao Ling squints at Mankuai, saying the words with a smile on his face .

Han Qilu thought Lao Ling misunderstood his relationship with Mankuai . “I forgot to make introductions . She’s my girlfriend, Xiang Mankuai . ”

Mankuai smiles and nods to the old man in greeting .

“You say she’s your girlfriend?” Lao Ling looks surprised . “Then who’s the girl lying in the hospital? I remember that girl almost died for you when she took you out of the forest . Isn’t she your fiancee? And now you have a girlfriend?”

Han Qilu’s face stiffens . No one had to save him when he was in the United States . Why would he be injured? All he remembers is being happy with Mankuai returning to him . But he is aware that there seems to be an inexplicable void in his heart .

He remembers Ling Hanyu saying that he’s in love with Chuxia, but how’s that possible?

“Ah, I’m old . What can you do with old things?” the old man says gracefully . “I’m very happy for you Qilu! . We’ll finish our meal here and go . As for An Chuxia, we’ll look after her . After all, it was your accident that made An Chuxia the way she is . ”

Without thinking twice, Han Qilu gets up and pays for the meal . Hanyu looks strangely at his grandfather .  This old fox’s face is really thick!

An Chuxia is finally awake . The doctor instructed her to rest in bed, but she can’t lie in bed any longer . Kuni raises the bed so she can recline and read the newspaper .

The newspaper entertained her, but not for long . Suddenly, Jiang Yuan appears . With her is a change of clothes, and she feels touched .

“Mommy, you’ve come!” Calling Jiang Yuan mommy has become a habit . She looks at Jiang Yuan with tears . “This is nothing . I just have to take a few days off . ”

“Are you sure nothing’s wrong with you and that concussion? Isn’t having one serious? Stupid girl!” Jiang Yuan approaches her while steward Han sets the lunch he bought at the hotel on the small table .

“Miss, eat first . The hospital food may not be good . That’s why we brought you this . ”

Jiang Yuan looks at steward Han strangely after he spoke . “Why aren’t you calling An Chuxia xiaonainai? When did you change her title?”

Steward Han looks at An Chuxia . “It was xiaonainai who asked me to call her Miss . ”

Shortly after, the door opens . Lao Ling walks in first . Upon seeing Jiang Yuan, he immediately smiles and greets, “Long time, no see . ”

“Thank you so much for sending our An Chuxia to the hospital, Lao Ling,” Jiang Yuan says before Mankuai walks in with a fruit basket . Han Qilu is nowhere to be seen .

Mankuai panics upon seeing Jiang Yuan . She didn’t expect her to be at the hospital . Han Qilu accompanied Ling Hanyu to speak to the doctor, and isn’t expected back soon .

“Batian . ” Jiang Yuan gently pats the dog’s head before loosening the grip on the leash .

Woof! Woof! Woof! The clever dog immediately barks at Mankuai . The first time she visited the Hans, she met with the dog . She expected the dog to attack her then, but it didn’t do so, until now . She gets so scared, she prays to the gods and drops the basket as she freezes on the spot .

“Hey, what are you doing? Stop it!” Jiang Yuan pretends to order the dog to back off, but Batian continues to stand in front of Mankuai and bark .

Mankuai looks at the huge animal as he jumps . Suddenly, she feels a warm sensation in her lower half . She quickly squeezes her thighs to hold back her urine . If anyone finds out she was so scared she peed on herself, she wouldn’t know how to live!

An Chuxia can’t see what’s going on, but she squeezes Jiang Yuan’s hand . “Mommy, that’s enough . ”

Jiang Yuan flattens her lips and whistles for the dog to heel .

“This fruit is for you . Rest well, An Chuxia . I’m leaving… . ” She points at the fruit basket on the ground before swallowing hard and turning away .

Mankuai quickly walks out of the ward and into the elevator . Once the doors close, she quickly reaches under her skirt to yank her underwear off to get rid of her embarrassment .
