Chapter 409 - Her grandfather doesn't like him. (1)

A long time had passed and, right when Father and Mother Lu who were waiting outside were about to knock on the door, the bathroom door opened and Lu Jue walked out carrying the first-aid kit with him.

His pitch-black eyes were bright and his thin lips bright red and glistening with moisture. Even his neck and ears were red.

“Xiao Jue is out.”

Mother Lu looked quickly at his arm. Sure enough, medications had been applied to where he was hurt. Mother Lu couldn't help but looked happy. “Xiao Jue is so awesome. He was able to apply the medicines on himself.”

Father Lu, too, looked delighted. He told his son, “Make sure you don’t get it wet when you shower.”

Ning Zhi touched Lu Jue’s hand with her fingertip. “Say ‘yes’.”

Lu Jue blinked.

“Say you know.” Ning Zhi coached him.

Lu Jue said slowly, “I know.”

When their son had responded suddenly, Father Lu and Mother Lu exchanged a look with each other in delight. They could see shock and happiness in each other’s eyes.

That night, after the sky got dark, Ning Zhi walked out to the patio holding Lu Jue’s hand.

There were many green plants out there and many of them were blooming. In the middle of the patio was a semi-circle porch swing. Perhaps it had been there for too long, the color of the swing was faded out from the sun.

Ning Zhi sat down on the swing.

Lu Jue sat his large body down next to her and took over most of the very crammed area.

Their two bodies snuggled up tightly against each other.

The male nurse waited by the sliding door, just in case Lu Jue would commit any abrupt acts out of the blue.

Watching as Lu Jue sat on the porch swing and looking at the stars while swinging back and forth, the male nurse was genuinely surprised. He had been Lu Jue’s nurse for a long time and he noticed that Lu Jue had changed drastically recently.

A cold breeze blew past.

Ning Zhi’s two legs dangled and swung in midair. She looked up at the sky. The sky was star-filled and it was quiet around them.

Lu Jue’s kept his eyes lowered and would glance over at the girl from time to time.

Ning Zhi turned her head and saw immediately him glancing over at her. She smiled and reached her hands up to cup Lu Jue’s face. She pointed his face at hers. “You can look openly.”

Lu Jue’s thin eyelids quivered and he looked at Ning Zhi, somewhat intimidated. He looked at her for longer and longer amount of time.

It didn’t matter which Lu Jue it was. He saw only her and she was the only thing that he could see.

Ning Zhi scooted closer to Lu Jue. His handsome image reflected in her eyes.

With the two of them so closed together, Lu Jue thought Ning Zhi was about to kiss him. His ears were red and his lips curved. There was a little dimple on the side of his cheek and his eyes were filled with anticipation.

Ning Zhi smiled and pinched him on his cheeks. “Why is it that kissing is all you think about all day long?”

Lu Jue’s long and straight eyelashes fluttered and hid the shyness in his eyes.

Ning Zhi looked at the sky and her smile started to fade. “Lu Jue.”

He looked up at her.

“You need to still smile when I am not around. Turn to your parents when you are unhappy. They will help you solve your problems. Don’t hurt yourself anymore.”

Lu Jue sensed something. He quickly held Lu Jue’s hand and laced their fingers together. “No go Zhizhi.”

“I’m sorry.” Lu Jue hurt himself and died that night. That time had already passed.

She had accomplished her mission.

Lu Jue’s thin lips was shut tightly and his cold and white face pale.

Zhizhi was leaving. He felt panic and helpless.

Lu Jue looked down. He grabbed Ning Zhi’s clothes ad his own and tried to tie them together.

His hands shook and he made a tight knot.

Panic finally quelled a little in his eyes when he saw that Ning Zhi and himself were tied together. “Zhizhi no go.”

He even reached out and put his arms around Ning Zhi, holding her tightly. He buried his head in the crook of Ning Zhi’s neck and nuzzled her pitifully. “No go.”
