Father Lu happened to come home right at that moment.

Mother Lu quickly walked up to her husband and started talking very fast. “When I saw Xiao Jue earlier, he reminded me of you when we had first gotten married.”

“He is my son. It is only normal that he is like me.” Father Lu's stern look softened in front of his wife. All there was in his eyes was his love for her.

Mother Lu ignored him. As she continued to think about her son and Ning Zhi's improving relationship, she looked happier and happier. She decided to turn around and walk into the kitchen, having them prepare a separate set of soup that was good for replenishing the body.

Mother Lu brought the soup upstairs personally once the soup was ready.

When the door to their room opened, Lu Jue saw his mother standing outside. He blinked and stared at her silently, as if he was wondering what she was doing there.

“Where's Xiao Zhi? I brought her soup,” said Mother Lu as she walked inside.

“Mom?”

Ning Zhi was a little surprised when she saw Mother Lu delivering the soup in person when she walked out of the bathroom. She quickly walked over and took the tray from her. “How come you brought this up yourself?”

“It's fine. The soup had just finished cooking, so it's a little bit hot. Let it cool down some before you drink it,” said Mother Lu gently. The way she looked at Ning Zhi was filled with tenderness.

“Okay, I will,” said Ning Zhi docilely.

Ning Zhi had just showered. The tips of her soft hair were wet, and they draped over her shoulder.

Under the light, her pearly little face was covered with water droplets. A hint of pink could be seen coming through. From Mother Lu's perspective, she looked entirely like a beautiful blossoming flower. She was stunning.
