Huo Xiaoyue had arranged for a car to wait outside of the school entrance.

Ning Zhi noticed that the Lu's chauffeur followed Lu Jue on their way there. It looked like even though Mother Lu agreed for Lu Jue to attend his classmate's birthday party and hoped that he could have a normal social life but was still worried about him.

Sitting next to Lu Jue, Ning Zhi comforted him. “It's alright. We will take off after we eat.”

Lu Jue blinked. His voice sounded like it was forced out of his throat. It was both deep and dull. “You go, I do.”

I will go if you go.

Figured out what he was saying, she chuckled and said, “No.”

Lu Jue gave her a blank look.

Ning Zhi corrected him. “I am only going because Xiao Juejue is going.”

When they arrived at the private room, Huo Xiaoyue requested to sit next to Lu Jue and was rejected by him once again.

Huo Xiaoyue did not insist. She knew that Lu Jue was not keen on interacting with others so she picked the spot that was one spot away from him.

Li Li sat down next to Huo Xiaoyue. Everyone said congratulatory words to her and she turned to look at Lu Jue, hoping that he, too, would say something.

Nevertheless, Lu Jue did not respond to her.

Huo Xiaoyue was disappointed.

She had been going after for Lu Jue for so many years. Even if it was a stone that she had been holding in her hand, it would be warmed up by now. Nevertheless, he was colder and harder than even a stone. She was not able to crack his shell at all.

Then, it occurred to Huo Xiaoyue that nobody other than her would fall for Lu Jue anyway so he would be hers one way or another. It was just a matter of time.

She was happy all over again.

The light was dim inside the room with only pink and blue lights. There were singing and playful noises coming from the room.

Ning Zhi noticed that Lu Jue was frowning a little. He was a little impatient and a little irritated from being here.

She leaned into his ear and asked, “Do you not like it here? Let's head out then.”

Over on the other side, Li Li was pouring wine for Huo Xiaoyue as she said to her, “Have some more wine if you are nervous.”

Li Li made a suggestion. “Or, we can have Lu Jue drink some too. You will be brave enough to kiss him when he is drunk and he won't turn you down either.”

Huo Xiaoyue's eyes lit up when she heard that. She was a little excited from that suggestion. “I don't know if he can hold alcohol. What happens if he really got drunk?”

Li Li reminded her, “That would be perfect. You don't really want to drink with him anyway. Your purpose is to kiss him.”

Huo Xiaoyue nodded in agreement but she was still a bit hesitant. “You are right about that. But what am I going to say to his mom if he got drunk?”

Li Li winked her at, implying that, “Who doesn't drink a little at a birthday party?”

Huo Xiaoyue looked over at Lu Jue who was sitting in a corner. The young man was in red and she could make out his features even though it was dark.

Huo Xiaoyue's heart raced. She quickly had another glass of wine to help her heart slow down. She really, really liked Lu Jue's looks.

Suddenly, her phone rang and it was a call from her brother. “Big Brother.”

Hearing the bustling noises from the phone, Huo Xiaoyang frowned and asked, “Where are you, Xiaoyue?”

“I am celebrating my birthday with my friends at the hotel.” As she spoke on the phone, Huo Xiaoyue was looking at Lu Jue the entire time. She noticed that Lu Jue had gotten up and was about to take off.

“Oh, Big Brother, I need to take care of something. Chat later.” Huo Xiaoyue quickly hang up on the phone and rushed up to stop Lu Jue from leaving.

“Where are you going, Lu Jue?” Huo Xiaoyue blocked the door.

Ning Zhi felt that the young Huo Xiaoyue was very annoying and she was itching to give her a beating.
