King of Sports 147 Tight Schedule

Getting up the next day, he felt completely relaxed after a thorough sleep, finally he didn't have a race to attend or train for. 

He woke up and stretched, relaxed.

He got dressed, picked up his phone and looked at it, and was shocked.

He ignored the first three directly and dialed his moms number and walked towards the bathroom.

Tang Yan said, opening up his laptop.

"Well, after so many swimming sessions, you must be tired. I hope you got a good night's sleep."

Tang Yan smiled slightly but in his heart he had already guessed what Qin Hailong would say next.

"Now the championship is over, when will you report for the boxing team? Next month is the trials for the Boxing World Championship. This World Championship is an Olympic trial. It is directly related to your Olympic qualification. "Qin Hailong said directly.

Boxing wasn't the same as swimming. In swimming as long as you reached the A or B grade time criteria in a large-scale event approved by the Olympic Committee, you could participate in the Olympic Games for the event. 

Boxing was different. Boxing you had to rank a certain position in the designated trials. For example, in the boxing world championship, only the top 10 boxers could advance to the Olympics.

"Coach, I know. I will report to the boxing team when I finish handling everything here. It should be a week at most, I'll be back soon I promise." 

"Well, I'll wait for you then." Hearing that Tang Yan finally gave a positive answer, he was finally relieved.

Tang Yan then called Tian Zhenzhe to make an appointment to report in and arrange his schedule.

Once this was done, his schedule for the next half of the year was laid out.

Boxing World Championship trials, Swimming World Championships, Boxing World Championships, followed by Archery World Championships.

This would take him basically to the end of the year.

Seeing such a tight schedule, he suddenly felt that the three sports restriction from the system was justified.

If it was four or five sports together, not to mention whether he could achieve good results, this constant back and forth would leave him completely drained and muddle headed.

After sending the schedule to Zhuang Jiajie, he put on his clothes and went directly to the swimming team.

Although he had no competition today, he naturally had to go show his support for the rest of the swimming team like they did for him plus he also had to tell Shen Qing that he would be reporting to the boxing team next week.

After the last few races of the competition Tang Yan went directly to Shen Qing and told him about leaving for the boxing team.

"Thank you, Coach." Tang Yan was pleased to hear Shen Qing mention this, because the Olympic Games would drastically cut  down the amount of medals he could win.

Take the men's freestyle as an example, the Olympics didn't have the 800m event, which was equivalent to directly missing out on a chance to win honor points.

Even if the relay races were counted, he had a total of 7 chances to win medals. With the Olympic Games being once every four years, this was obviously too wasteful, but if he could register for the other strokes this number would surge greatly.

"But this isn't a simple matter. You have to consider the schedule. After all, some events are carried out in a row. Even if you have the ability, you might not have the physical strength. Even Phelps only signs up for 8 events, of course he won all 8 gold medals in the end. "

"Coach, I will be stronger than Phelps."

After finishing his talk with Shen Qing, Tang Yan was in a great mood.

Hopefully next year at this time, he could participate in the other strokes and reach the corresponding A standard. 

However, what Shen Qing said was also true. How many events could he actually sign up for? That would have a lot to do with what the schedule would look like and his physical fitness. For events like 1500 meters, he might have to give them up selectively.

Of course, this was all still too early for him. His focus was now on the Boxing World Championships.

Moving up the weight class meant a new start for him, especially in the upcoming World Championships. Compared with the Asian Games, the strength of his opponent's would directly increase a tier.
