Su Yi Cheng came back almost at 12 o’clock. In the evening, he had a meal with a few of the Municipal people and several entrepreneurs of River City. All of them were regulars. Wine was on the table, and they were eating and drinking. They chatted up countless topics, about the economy, the current situation, and even occasionally talked about women. As a result, the time flew so quickly, and so at the final wine cup, people had scattered when it was midnight.

While slightly drunk, he opened the door. When he looked at the entrance which kept the lights dim, Su Yi Cheng was stunned. Then, his mouth slowly smirked. In the past, when he came back, he was met with a room which was black and silent. Now, when he came back, he knew that when he opened the door, there was someone waiting for him. This feeling, it was really quite good.

Placing the briefcase on the living room couch, he opened the bedroom door. The room was dark. He did not see the woman who was supposed to be asleep in the bed. Slightly puzzled, he frowned and exited the room.

Seeing the reflecting light from within the tightly closed study room door, he chuckled. He walked towards the study, then pushed the door. He saw someone lying against the desk at that moment. Her sleeping posture was foolish, her face leaned on the sketch, the hand was still holding a pencil.

Su Yi Cheng chuckled and shook his head. He carefully extracted the pencil from her hand, put it aside, and then gently pushed the chair, bending down to carry her. His action did not make Anran wake up, presumably, she was really tired. She moved a little, enjoying being in his arms and shifted to find a more comfortable position, peacefully asleep.

Carrying her back to the bedroom, he let her sleep in the bed. Then, Su Yi Cheng went back to the study room. The sketches and information were packed up in the desk. He looked at her nearly half-completed drawings. He could not help but take more glances. It was considered as unique design, the building, it was a solemn thing but was not lacking in style. He did not know whether it was a good or bad design, after all, with regards to architecture, he was a layman.

Arranging for everything to be neat, Su Yi Cheng went back to the bedroom. He took a set of pajamas, then went into the bathroom.

When he came out from the bathroom, he saw Anran who was on the bed, drowsily opening her eyes. She rubbed her hazy sleepy eyes, and looked for a long time before she recognized the situation. She yawned and said, “You’re back.”

“Oh. ” Nodding drowsily, she go out of bed.

“Where are you going?” Looking at her behaviour, Su Yi Cheng amusedly asked.

“Bath.” Then walking towards the closet, she readily took the red pajamas, glanced at the bathroom door, ready to go in.

She did not see, but standing beside her, Su Yi Cheng actually saw clearly. Looking at the clothes in her hand, he could not help but swallow, and asked, “Anran, you, do you really want to wear that? ”

Being asked an inexplicable thing, Anran froze for a moment. She looked down at the pajamas in her hands. With one look, her drowsiness cleared. Her cheeks flushed. How could she take this piece which had originally been given by Lin. She threw the pajamas back to the wardrobe, then her next pick was the too conservative pajamas. She went into the bathroom, and in her heart, she could not help but remind herself that tomorrow, she must, she must take that piece and directly stuff it into the garbage can.

Su Yi Cheng felt amused watching her action which was a little bit naive. Shaking his head, he turned to go to bed. On the nightstand, he readily opened the magazine he usually read.

Next to it on the table, was the telephone, which rang at this time. Su Yi Cheng glanced at the caller number. It was a strange number. His brow wrinkled. It was unclear who was calling also it rang at such a late time. However, he still reached out to pick up the phone,  “Well, who is it?”

There was silence on the other side of the phone, a moment of no sound.

Su Yi Cheng frowned and coldly said, “Speak.”

There was still no sound on the other side of the phone, just the silence, but it was different, this time. This time, there were muffled sobs. It was a woman’s sobs.

Su Yi Cheng remembered that voice. There was a long period of time, when he was inseparable with the owner of the voice. However, he was already used to it. Now, he had nothing to do with it.

Su Yi Cheng did not speak again. He wanted to hang up the phone, but before the phone hung up, a voice came out loud. She seemed to know that he wanted to hang up, saying, “Yi Cheng, don’t hang up. It’s me.”

“What’s wrong?” Su Yi Cheng asked, deadpan, without any warm emotions inside his voice.

“Yi Cheng, it’s me. I’m back.” Ling Ran said desolately.

“Ah.” Su Yi Cheng briefly responded. For her to return, it did not mean that there was a needto change his attitude, even if she was back for him, it did not matter.

“Yi Cheng, we, we should meet, okay?” Ling Ran said. Her tone sounded was pleading.

“It’s not necessary.” Su Yi Cheng refused. Hearing that the sound of water in the bathroom had stopped, he knew that Anran should have had a good wash. He did not want to, because of this phone caller, let her have any unnecessary misunderstandings. Directly, he said, “I’m sorry. It’s too late, and I don’t want your phone calls to make my wife have any misunderstandings, so be it. Goodbye. ” Then without waiting for her answer, he hung up the phone decisively.

Anran was rubbing her hair when she saw that he was still sitting on the bed, not asleep, then she asked, “How can you still stay up?”

Su Yi Cheng smiled at her, only saying, “I am waiting for you.”

Anran’s face reddened. She did not know whether it was because she just came out of the bath or because of his words. She turned her head away from his eyes, casually rubbing her hair. From the other side of the bed, she closed her eyes, just wanting to hurry up and sleep.

Su Yi Cheng smiled. He pressed the light switch behind her then lied down. He held her from behind. His hands and fingers interlocked with hers. Before, he thought that he was a person without a sleeping habit, and he thought that he would not get accustomed to it, but holding her felt good. Now, he was not used to sleeping without holding her every night.

“I, I have a regular meeting tomorrow morning, so, I can’t be late.” Anran said.

Su Yi Cheng’s head buried in her hair and laughed at, how she was afraid of him, but he just wanted to hold her.

“I, I’m tired. I’ll sleep first.” Seeing him only smiling without answering, Anran hastily indicated their position. She was really afraid of this man. She had to find a way to get the appropriate adjustments for a couple living together while working, otherwise, sooner or later, she would die from his tossing.

Laughing for a moment, Su Yi Cheng only whispered, “Go to sleep. I’ll just hold you.”

Hearing it, Anran was relieved. She closed her eyes while in his arms.

Su Yi Cheng watched the moonlight shine through the window. He looked down and placed a kiss softly on her forehead, then closed his eyes.
