First Marriage Then Love Chapter 47

The pen was shoved, resulting in a slip. Long line drawings depicted the scope of the provisions, and even the intensity was too large due to using a pen, she directly drew the long hole.

Anran sighed, looked  into the hands of the pencil on the desk for a moment, looked up by sitting on the chair, closed her eyes. Those past memories uncontrollably bounced out to the front of her mind. There was joy, there were tears. She still remembered the first date. The both of them walked around the small lakeside campus. He smiled and talked to her about his ​plans for the future. He smiled and said that he wanted to start a construction company, building a number of high-rise buildings. They talked about their ideals and aspirations. The conversation they had made those two become closer and closer. She did not know who was the first to hold the other’s hand. The sun was setting, and eventually, his hand grabbed hers, then the two interlocked their fingers. Their figures reflected in the lake. He kissed her lips, and to the both of them. It was simple and lovely. With only lips sticking to lips, their faces were red like ripe red apples, their heartbeats became faster.

I don’t want to remember anymore, Anran held her nose, then suddenly opened her eyes. The drawing on the desk suddenly crumpled. She threw it firmly into the dustbin. The basket was full of wastepapers which made up seventy-eight balls of paper. It was the result of her struggle.

The study door was opened, and she saw Su Yi Cheng, in a suit, neatly attired with briefcase in his hand coming in. Upon seeing this, Anran stood up, “You, you come back. If you want to use the study room, then, I’ll go out.” As she said it, she stood up and picked up the drawings.

“Anran.” Su Yi Cheng restrained her, shaking his head and said, “I am not using the study room. The work has been done in the office before. If you want to use the library, just use it. We are husband and wife. You are the mistress of this house. You don’t need to always be polite. ”

Anran stood and watched him speechless. She was just not used to it.

Su Yi Cheng smiled at her, putting the briefcase aside, and loosening the neck tie. “I’m going to take a bath.” Then he left the study.

Anran sat down again, retaking the drawings which were spread on that large work desk. She held a ruler and depicted carefully. However, in her mind, she was always thinking of that afternoon scene in Huang Dexing’s office. She didn’t know what he really wanted to do. She think she had never afford to get fit into such a person. He could give up four years of feelings without looking back, so why this entanglement now? Was it that he thought of himself too highly or that he too looked down on others? Did he not know this kind of feeling? Just as time passed by their relationship could not return to what it was.

Heaved a long sigh, Anran put down the pen, fearing that she could not do the drawing tonight. All upsetting thoughts calmed down, she took the drawing away, and also brought along the information books.

When Anran picked up something in the master bedroom, she met Su Yi Cheng. He had just come out of the bathroom with just a bath towel around his waist. Standing face-to-face, Anran suddenly felt her face redden. Although they had done intimate behavior before, but looking at him topless, Anran unconsciously was embarrassed. She avoided his eyes and picked up the thing on the side. She looked up, her eyes not staying on him, and asked “Tonight, have you eaten? Do you want me to cook for you? ”

Su Yi Cheng saw her uncomfortable face. Actually, he had eaten in the evening, and also ate several grassroots cadres after. However, he remembered the days before. It was very nostalgic. His heart beating, he nodded and said “Well, I want the noddles from before, topped with tomatoes.”

Anran nodded and went to the kitchen. Actually, she did not say yes, except the tomatoes on top, she would not really cook something else. Of course, it was also the one she could cook very well.

When Su Yi Cheng finished changing into his pajamas, he rushed out from the room. While Anran was busy in the kitchen, he leaned against the bar and looked at her. He felt a kind of unspeakable stability.

Anran looked to be busy stirring the pot. There was a woman who also had been worked for everything he had done. Once, he thought a woman would be with him hand-in-hand through life, but he did not expect that such an outcome would eventually happen. Once, he thought he would not get married in this life, but the thought of his original impulse, he could also choose to flash marriage. He had held the ring, ready for that loved one to put on, but she gave him the deepest betrayal. He began to reject the feeling, and even refused to choose friendship, let alone marriage.

When he met Anran, he became aware that marriage could be very simple. The most important was not love, but that they could fit each other, even without the wedding ceremony and a wedding ring.

Thinking about it, Su Yi Cheng did not even realise that he had entered the kitchen, and that he had hugged her from behind. His chin on her shoulder. His warm breath on her ear. He could even feel her body in his arms, although when he began to hug her, she became  a bit stiff. Gradually her face blanched. He could not help but laugh. This woman was too thin-skinned. She could not withstand a bit of teasing. Recalling it now, he even disbelieved that she was the one who had asked for married on their first meeting. He could not help but feel curious, where did her courage come from?

“It will be done soon. Well, you, you go sit over there. Immediately, immediately, we’ll eat.” He was hugging her from behind. Anran stammered, her heart was wound up.

“Ah.” Su Yi Cheng answered, but did not release her. His nose was sniffing her skin. Her body smelled of milk soap, it was refreshing, a good smell.

Anran with her stiff hand switched off the heat, took the bowl, then clipped out the soup well.

“Ya!” That bowl of noddle almost slipped from her hands, because he had put his hand on hers!

“Su, Su Yi Cheng!” Anran called him, reminded him to control his hand.

Su Yi Cheng did not speak, holding her hand, his other hand began to explore. At the moment when he also held that bowl, he had found a better supper, and was determined to eat that delicious meal. Anran had more than once asked him why he had promised to marry her, and he had repeatedly said that she was appropriate. Actually, he asked himself, did being appropriate mean they have to do far more than being a couple?

Maybe he had already like her since the first time he met her. It was just a normal type of liking, not love.

This night, the bowl of noodles that Anran cooked, which has tomatoes on top, finally went into someone’s stomach at midnight. At that time, Anran is already so tired out and sleeping away on the bed.
