Chapter 55 Watch the Drama

"Guards!" Wu Yunling shouted to the guards, "Seize her!"

Guards filled the hall in seconds, swords ready. Yun Canglan didn't move. Sitting there, she took the grapes from Yun Qin and watched the drama unfold.

Yun Canglan inquired, "Yun Qin, what's the name of this drama again?" The drama was not as good as she would have liked to see.

Yun Qin clarified readily, "Mistress, this is called, 'Yun Qi Beats A Mad Dog'."

"This is such a bad drama. I don't like it." Yun Canglan stated.

Yun Qin rolled his eyes, "Mistress, this is the drama you ordered a moment ago."

While Yun Canglan and Yun Qin chatted leisurely, the rest of the room was tense and unhappy.

Yun Qi looked at the guards surrounding him, and his uneasiness grew, "Mistress, I do not believe you care about me at all! I am in danger now, and you ignore it."

Yun Canglan glanced at him but said nothing.

Yun Qin impatiently advised Yun Qi, "Yun Qi, the Mistress doesn't like this drama at all, please resolve it promptly."

One of the concubines with Wu Yunling commented, "Lady Ling, you are right to be upset; why this arrogant bitch didn't respect you at all!"

Other concubines jumped into the drama as well, encouraging Wu Yunling while throwing insults at Yun Canglan.

Lady Ling was fuming and commanded the guards, "Throw these bitches into the military camp to serve as prostitutes!"

The troops closed in to seize Yun Canglan, Yun Qin, and Yun Qi.

Yun Qi rolled her wrists and guards fell to the ground. Wu Yunling didn't have time to react before all the guards lay defeated on the floor.

"You want to send me to the military camp?" The Poison Sage was to be a prostitute? That was shameful!

"You...you...stay away from me..." Wu Yunling stammered in fear while pointing at Yun Qi as if she saw a monster.

Frightened concubines ducked behind Wu Yunling.

Yun Qi smiled viciously, "You dare call My Mistress a 'bitch'? Well, I need to put on a play for My Mistress. Wu Yunling, are you afraid of death?"

The concubines cowered out of reach, leaving Wu Yunling the bad luck of being hit by Yun Qi's waistband, leaving her clothes torn.

The concubines left Wu Yunling behind, scrambling to run for the door and safety beyond. She tried to escape too, but Yun Qi blocked the way.

"How...how dare you.... beat me...ouch..."

Yun Qi showed no mercy and Wu Yunling could do nothing but scream.

d stopped working staring at the entrance. They dared not enter the Siyuan Palace though.

Yun Canglan picked at her ear, unhappy with the noise.

Yun Qi was about to beat her harder, when a sharp voice announced from outside.

"The Crown Prince is here....."

Huo Liuyun could hear Wu Yuling's cries before he was to the palace. He realized something was amiss and was headed there after he saw his concubines running out of the Siyuan Palace.

One of his concubines almost knocked him over as he entered the Siyuan Palace.

"What's going on here?" Huo Liuyun's voice raised in anger. His face blackened in rage when he saw Yun Qi beating his concubine with a waistband. He quickly recovered, masking his feelings with an approachable look.

He had an idea of what happened, but inquired.

"Young lady, did my concubines provoke you? Why are you so angry with them?" Huo Liuyun asked.

Yun Qi handed on his hips, yelled, "My Crown Prince, they didn't provoke me. It was My Mistress they insulted." He nodded his head in Yun Canglan's direction as he finished ranting.

Huo Liuyun looked to where Yun Qi's gestured, and saw Yun Canglan sitting in a chair and eating grapes casually as Yun Qin massaged her.

"My Crown Prince, Waah.. please help me." Wu Yunling cried out as she flung herself into Huo Liuyun's arms and began crying.

The other concubines followed her lead, and swarmed Huo Liuyun.

"My Crown Prince, save me, please..."

"My Crown Prince, my clothes are ripped...waah..."

"My Crown Prince, she hurt my arm... ouch..."

Huo Liuyun grew impatient being surrounded by so many women, all whining and complaining.

Yun Qi complained, "These women are out of their minds! Why do you send them here? My Crown Prince, if we are not welcome, tell us directly. We will leave the imperial palace immediately if you ask us to. We will not steal anything. They are jealous of My Mistress's beauty, and brag about their clothes, but the Mistress's socks are more expensive than those. They saw Mistress was prettier and richer, so they began to abuse us. We have traveled through the seven kingdoms, and have never encountered ladies like your concubines. How dare they criticize My Mistress. My Crown Prince, they called her a 'bitch.' If they were not your concubines, I would cut their heads off for sure! I'm kind-hearted, My Crown Prince. I don't want to cut their heads off, so I just beat them."

Yun Qi's words flew out so quickly; he didn't even take the time to breathe, which shocked Huo Liuyun and his prattling concubines into silence.

Yun Canglan brought Yun Qi a cup of tea.

"Thank you, My Mistress!" Yun Qi said taking the cup from her. .He wondered why Yun Canglan was so kind to him.

"You're welcome. I'm always considerate." Yun Canglan said with a smile.
