Chapter 45 Lei Tianyan vs Shui Minghan

Yun Canglan stood in front of the bedroom door looking up at the dark sky, and gave orders to Yun Qin and Yun Qi, "Guard the door! I am tired. No one is to enter, I do not want to be disturbed."

Yun Qin and Yun Qi responded in a serious tone, "Mistress, you may rest assured. It will be so."

Yun Canglan turned and as she reached to open the door, it was opened from the inside.

A man stood in the room. He had eyes that sparkled as bright as stars and his lips were as red as blood. He wore red clothes, the color of fire, and looked quite sexy to Yun Canglan. His features were sculpted, and appeared feminine. There was a golden lotus between his eyebrows that made him even more attractive.

"He was bewitching with a red feather on the tip of his brow. He dwarfed even the sun and the moon." The man standing in her room was Mister Yao Yan, one of the Nine Prominent Figures in the world.

Lei Tianyan pulled Yun Canglan tightly into his arms, resting his chin on her head affectionate.

Yun Canglan took a deep breath, remaining calm when she recognized the familiar fragrance, and knew who held her.

"You are late!" Yun Canglan complained.

Lei Tianyan sounded like a spoiled child, "It's all your fault! You are lucky. I rushed back as quickly as I have, I have the state affairs of the Si Kingdom to deal with!"

Yun Canglan grumbled under her breath, "You can stay in the Si Kingdom."

"What are you talking about?" Lei Tianyan released her, looking at her angrily, "I'm your fiance, and I forbid you to have sex with others to detox!"

Yun Canglan looked at him, trying to understand his anger.

Lei Tianyan looking up at the night sky noted, "It's almost midnight."

Were they going indoors or have sex out there? "Let's go in." Yun Canglan said.

"Wait." Lei Tianyan spoke coldly looking behind Yun Canglan. He narrowed his eyes as if he saw something dangerous.

Yun Canglan followed his gaze, and saw a figure standing in the shadows of the darkened yard, almost invisible.

There was bitterness in his sharp eyes as he stared coldly from Yun Canglan to Lei Tianyan.

Lei Tianyan taunted, "Who do we have here, why it's Shui Minghan, the favored sixth Prince of the Lie Kingdom. Why are you here? Somebody may believe the Lie Kingdom has a hidden agenda." There was a strong smell of gunpowder between them.

Shui Minghan ignored Lei Tianyan's taunting looking at Yun Canglan, who was held tightly by Lei Tianyan.

Shui Minghan was silent and stood just staring, as though struggling with a big decision. Finally, he approached Yun Canglan and asked in a gentle voice, "How have you been, Canglan?"

Yun Canglan replied in a calm but cool manner, "I'm fine."

She was indeed fine, she thought sarcastically. She was married to a man who had taken a concubine secretly. That concubine was about to have her husband's baby, and she would say goodbye to this family soon. Shui Minghan had left her, so she took her affection back and gave it to another man. When he took his concubine, she took it back again. A vicious circle that she had grown accustomed.

She advanced and retreated in love any time she needed.

Yun Canglan's indifference made Shui Minghan's courage fail him.

The hostility could be heard when Shui Minghan spat, "It's the full moon tonight."

Yun Canglan looked up into the night sky and agreed, "Yes, I know."

"I have returned because it is the full moon and you need to detox your body." Shui Minghan said, his confidence was faltering.

Yun Canglan listened to him and gave a scornful chuckle, shocked at his audacity.

Yun Qin and Yun Qi recognized that Yun Canglan was angry, as her voice grew sinister and cold like snow, "You knew what I most abhorred, after all the time you served me and then being with me for a year."

Shui Minghan paled at her words. Of course, he knew she hated betrayal and deception above all else.

He left her two years ago, even though she had a poison attack coming on, betraying her.

There was no forgiveness for those who betrayed her.

"So, why are you here then?" She demanded. He had sworn he would detox her body for a lifetime. So, two years ago, she devoted herself to him and fell in love with him even. He left her for a lady, and if not for Feng Gui who saved her, she would have died.

Later, she realized she had been blind to the fact that his feather mark never bloomed and he was not loyal to her from the start.

Although Shui Minghan knew he was in the wrong, he had hoped Yun Canglan would forgive him; instead, her alienation pained him more than he thought it would.

"It will be midnight soon, let me detox your body." Shui Minghan reached to grab Yun Canglan's wrist, but a red figure blocked him. The red feather on his face was in full bloom.

"This is not your concern. I will detox my fiancee." Lei Tianyan said through clenched teeth.

Shui Minghan's face fell as he sadly repeated, "Fiancee? The engagement between you and Canglan was just a wishful thinking of the Emperor of the Si Kingdom. Canglan has refused it, you need to know as well."

Lei Tianyan smiled smugly, "That was three years ago, or have you forgotten, you have been away for two years? If Yun'er hasn't accepted me, who is it who has detoxed her over the past year? Feng Gui? Yun'er wouldn't share a man with another lady."

Shui Minghan clenched his fists, wanting to pummel Lei Tianyan and his taunts. Shui Minghan noticed though that Yun Canglan was leaning against Lei Tianyan in a docile, which discouraged him from acting.

He had left for two years, and during that time he had worried about Yun Canglan all the time. He realized that he didn't just take her as someone who could help him revenge. Instead, he loved her. When he heard she was married, he had been drunk for three days. She didn't have to die due to poison, but she had to have sex every month with another man.

When he heard that her husband took a concubine, he was excited, but worried for her. A year ago, Lei Tianyan had appeared at her side. He had despised Lei Tianyan who looked feminine. At the moment, Lei Tianyan also looked down upon him.

She stood in front of him, but Shui Minghan felt she was far away. He was not the one she loved.

Knowing Shui Minghan was sad brought a smile to Yun Canglan's lips. She pulled Lei Tianyan by the sleeve, "Let's go, I'm not comfortable."

Let bygones be bygones.

Lei Tianyan immediately took Yun Canglan into his arms, turning to tell Shui Minghan, "See you! I am going to take my fiancee to bed now."

The two went into the room and closed the door.

Shui Minghan clenched his fists tightly, and his nails cut into his palms. He stood outside the door, feeling a heartache when he heard the sounds from within.

He had been wrong. It turned out that he cared for her very much. He could put aside his hatred and his throne, all he wanted was her.

He had made a mistake, and it turned out people couldn't make mistakes where she was concerned. She was with Lei Tianyan now, and he saw her sweet and charming side.

Yun Qin and Yun Qi turned away and pretended they didn't know Shui Minghan, even though they felt shocked seeing his grief and heartbroken reaction. At one time, they respected him, and when they addressed him, Mister Wu Hen was spoken with appreciation, because the Mistress cared about him. Now he was looked down upon, 'Fucking Mister Wu Hen!' was uttered with disdain.

Leaning against the wall, Yun Qin taunted, "I wasn't aware that Mister Wu Hen liked to eavesdrop."

Yun Qi feigning innocence added, "Brother, is he a pervert?"

"I guess so." They shared a chuckle at his expense.

"Mister Wu Hen, you should go, or did you hope to hear them having sex?" Yun Qin taunted.

Blood dripped from Shui Minghan's fists.

Shui Minghan stood a while more before he turned around and left.

There was an ache in his chest, and he reached for it. His right hand clutching his chest, began to burn.
