Coincidence Or Fate 4 Chapter 4 - Voice

I heard the scream of a man voice as they jump towards me.

"My Gosh! B*tch where have you been hiding from."

"Girl, you sure can sing."

"Ange where did you learn to sing?"

"Bloody hell, you ain't just good in the kitchen you can also sing."

"Boss, its not really singing..."

"What you mean not singing, me and the Boss been listening to you for awhile now."

"You have?"

"Yes! Oh! Yes! and Ange you can really sing."

"Okay... Thanks... I better get back to work."

Before I could return to work, someone pulled my arm back and stopped me.

"Ange, please do me a big favor..." As Mike said with a charming and pitiful look on his face. I know what he was thinking even before he could say it. But I just couldn't leave my duties.

"Boss, I can just leave the kitchen."

"No problem, I can handle it. You just help them at from."

"See, no problem then. Mike will handle the kitchen and I'll help too."

"Boss, you never handled the kitchen before."

" Hey... b*tch I know a thing or two..."

" Boss Mike, you sure you want the whole kitchen to burn?" I said as I try run away from Boss request since I really don't wish to perform at all.

"That fine... You just sing for us."

"F*ck you both..." I said as I run back inside the kitchen and they chased after me.

"Come on Ange, this will only be the first and last." Boss said while almost begging on his kneels. I felt like I was being drag to hell. I really don't want to sing and make an embarassment of myself. I've never sing in public for almost 15 years. I've only sung during my childhood years since but I stopped since I was traumatized by my foster mums words.

Back then I really loved singing however one day when we were out to visit my cousins everyone was singing in the karaoke machine. I wanted to try and sing as well. So I grab the book and tried to look for a song. As I was about to sing mother took the mic away and her words then have traumatized me.

"Don't let her sing, you guys enjoy. If you let her sing there will be a storm..."

I was so embarassed that I wanted to cry back then. But I did not want anyone to think it was true then so I made an excuse not to sing during that time. Since then I avoid singing in front of public or even with friends. I was too afraid that they will judge me without even hearing my voice.

"Fine..."

"Really?"

"Yeah..."

"Oh, Ange thank you so much. I love you so much." He said as he hugged and kissed me all over my checks. I felt disgusted being kissed by him. As I tried to push him away. Boss Mike joined in and hugged us even tighter. I was getting annoyed at them but I couldn't be bother to be angry at them. I know since I agreed I was the biggest sign of relief for them.

So I went to the changing room and change my cloths back. I put on some light make up on me to brighten up my look. I never really put on make up since I find it useless and bothersome. Despite me not wearing make up at all. I was always praised by my friends and colleagues. Before I went out I stared myself in the mirror and looked at myself.

"Angelique you can do this..."

As I opened the door I notice the group of people anticipatedly waiting for me. They were all silent from my sudden look. I can see why they all looked at me like that for almost 3 month of working with them they've never seen me like this. The main reason why I don't wear make up to work is because I work in the kitchen and it a sweaty environment.

"Well... then Ange... when your ready..." The Boss said with the stun look on his face.

As we head out to the front of the house. I heard the scream, whispering of everyone amazement. They were all worshipping how beautiful I was but it did not make me feel to good hearing those praises. Since with all the praises, they will always stab you in the back in the end.

As the Boss introduced me to the guest in the bar. I got on the stage and before I sat on the stoll I did a deep bow to the guest inside the bar. I did not say a single word and just sat down. I did not look at any of the guest inside the bar and instead I just started playing some melodies. Not a single word came out of my mouth nor did I heard any protest from the people in the bar for I was not singing at all.

As they all stay tuned to the melody I wad playing, I started humming creating another tune in the air for them to enjoy. Everyone was just sat there quitely and all eyes fixed on me. As I sense that everyone was enjoy themselves I started singing. Not only once but I started singing a couple of song since I did not feel anyone complains at all.

As I finished the last song which was an emotional song. I notice some people eyes were so red and tears were falling down there face. No one made any noises during the time I was singing at all as if they were so amazed by my voice. As I stop singing and starter playing the last soft melody to end my performance. No one still said a word. I stood up and gave all of them again a big bow. Then sudden the room was filled with scream and tears. People cheering and clapping at the same time.

"What an amazing voice"

"Her voice made my soul feel so alive."

"My gosh..."

"Amazing!"

I was astonish from the feedback I was getting. I did not expect any of this at all. All I was doing was doing a favor for the boss. From the start to the end all I though was I disappointed them but it was all the opposite. My heart felt weird and warm, it was beating so fast like it was about to explode. Then I thought to myself.

"So I actually have a voice..."
