Chapter 289 Almost died
At New York's JFK Airport, most of the crew were wandering around in the terminal boredly, waiting for the weather to improve.
A sudden heavy rain caused widespread flight delays, and the crew's charter flight was temporarily unable to take off.
Martin stood by the window, raindrops pattered on the glass in front of him, so dense that he couldn't even see clearly the Boeing passenger plane not far away.
Bruce brought a bottle of water over.
Martin took it, opened it, took a sip, and asked: "In such horrible weather, only civilian pilots from the polar bear family dare to take off, right?"
Bruce shrugged and said in a standard American tone: "Who knows, they'll go crazy and even drink antifreeze."
Chad hurried over to check on the rain and muttered, "When will it stop?"
Martin asked: "My girlfriend is waiting for you in Los Angeles?"
"I'm a single man without a girlfriend." Chad organized his words a little and said, "Remember Marcus we met at Kane's Angel Shooting Club?"
The name sounded familiar. Martin recalled it for a moment and remembered: "The soldier who served in Afghanistan?"
Chad nodded: "Yes, that's him. Marcus is particularly interested in the film industry and wants to switch to stuntman and action director after retiring. He has kept in touch with me."
He paused for a while before saying: "I lost contact with him in December. I just learned last week that the SEAL team Marcus was part of was attacked during a mission, and he was the only one who survived."
Bruce then said: "He is lucky. In a ghost place like Afghanistan, being alive is better than anything else."
Martin did not make any indication and was not interested in the life or death of the SEAL team.
Chad added: "Marcus retired from the army and decided to settle in Los Angeles. He suffered a lot of psychological trauma. I had made an appointment with him to go see him as soon as we got off the plane."
Martin said: "Don't worry, this kind of strong convective weather will end as quickly as it comes."
After waiting for nearly two hours, the crew finally boarded the charter flight back to Los Angeles.
Martin asked for a blanket to sleep on.
Bruce moved next to Chad and they talked about Afghanistan.
Coming back from the cold and humid New York to the sunny Los Angeles, people feel inexplicably happy.
Especially when a blonde beauty with an amazing figure rushes over and asks for a hug, you will feel better.
After a passionate kiss, Martin and Bruce got into the Mercedes-Benz G driven by Blake.
Bruce drove back to the Coty community. Martin and Blake were still getting their luggage from the car when the doorbell rang.
“Who?” Lao Bu went over to open the door and found that it was the neighbor next door.
Jenna, whose blond hair was tied into a ponytail, smiled and said hello: "Hello, Lao Bu." She tilted her head and looked inside the door: "Martin is back, right? I've looked for him several times and he's not there. I just heard some noise..."
“She has come to see you several times.” Blake said to Martin first, then walked over and said with a smile: “Come in and talk.”
Jenna looked at Blake's dreamy figure and couldn't help but ask, "Blake, how do you exercise?"
Blake let the person in and said as he walked: "Part of it is nature, and part of it is exercise. I have been a cheerleader since the sixth grade, and I have always exercised a lot."
Martin greeted Jenna and invited: "Sit in the room for a while?"
Jenna shook her head: "No, I'm going to the Sacred Valley soon." She opened the shoulder bag she was carrying and took out a packed square box: "The samples of Wanted are out. You know this series best, I will send you the samples. Come here, I want you to help me see if there is anything that needs improvement.”
Martin took it, handed it to Blake, and said, "You're too polite."
Jenna smiled: "Without you, I wouldn't be able to get the remake rights, and I wouldn't be able to capitalize on the popularity of Wanted. After the film is produced, of course I have to show it to you first. You were not at home the few times I came here before."
Martin said politely: "I will watch it."
Jenna quickly said: "I'm going to leave first. We'll talk later."
Martin and Blake sent her out of the house, came back and carried her suitcase into the villa. Old Bu was very discerning and went directly to the annex building.
Putting down his luggage, Blake curiously opened the square gift box. As expected, inside was a beautifully packaged CD.
Sacred Valley version of "Wanted"!
The heroine Jenna occupies most of the cover.
Blake was only 18 years old after all, and couldn't help but said: “How can anyone help me research this kind of film?”
Martin took it and threw it on the coffee table: "Give it to Lao Bu later."
Blake took it back again and was very curious: "How about... let's take a look?"
Martin pulled him upstairs: "Go to the bedroom to see."
The next morning, after breakfast, Blake went to Burbank to take accent classes to practice his New York accent.
Martin and Bruce got into the Escalade and went out.
Bruce drove onto the road and saw Mr. and Mrs. Jones taking a walk.
Mr. Jones waved over, and Martin had no choice but to ask Bruce to stop the car, get out of the passenger seat, say hello, and ask, "What's the matter?"
“It's not important.” Mr. Jones said with a smile: “Did Jenna send you samples?”
Martin nodded: "It was delivered to me yesterday."
Mr. Jones was very concerned about his daughter's new work and asked: "How is the shooting? Is it okay?"
This question seemed awkward to Martin. He thought of several ways to answer it, but still felt embarrassed.
On the other hand, Mr. Jones was not embarrassed at all. Instead, he was very serious, as if he was discussing a serious art topic. This is an art subject! Martin could only hint to himself in his heart and said: "The filming is very good, a masterpiece. I think Jenna can win the grand prize this year."
Mr. Jones was quite pleased: "If I can really win a grand prize, it will be considered a great achievement."
Martin decided to end the chat between the two: "I still have things to do. Let's talk when we have time."
Mr. Jones said: "When Jenna comes back, I invite you, Lao Bu, and Blake to come to my house for tea. By the way, you can give some opinions on the film with your professional vision."
Martin waved his hand and quickly got into the car.
Bruce stepped on the accelerator, and the car immediately accelerated away from here.
He asked: "How is your research going?"
Martin said seriously: "It's very difficult for a man to pick too many, but it becomes much easier on the other hand."
Bruce muttered: "When can I fight against two?"
Martin was too lazy to answer this bad guy's bad question, so he took out his cell phone and called Leonardo: "I'm back in Los Angeles, where are you? Come out and have fun!"
“I can't get high anymore!” Leonardo seemed to be walking in a hurry: “I just learned that that **** old Jack is hospitalized and I'm about to go see him.”
Martin raised his voice unconsciously: "What's wrong with him?"
Leonando said: "I don't know, he is at the University of California Medical Center. Come over when you have time."
“Brother, go to the University of California Hospital Center!” Martin said to Bruce first, and then said to the phone: “I'll be there right away.”
The **** of **** won't become a twosome, right?
Martin rushed to the medical center, found Nicholson's ward, and when he knocked on the door and entered, Leonardo was already standing in front of the hospital bed.
Nicolson was lying on the hospital bed, looking very lethargic.
Martin asked softly, "What's going on?"
Leonardo looked serious and pointed at Martin: "Because of you!"
Martin was baffled.
"Yes, it's because of you." Nicholson raised his head slightly and spoke weakly: "I took the magic medicine you gave me, and then I became like this and almost died!"
Martin looked at Nicholson and then at Leonardo: "How...how could this happen?"
He realized that Leonardo was not normal, so he immediately took two steps back and leaned against the wall, his hands trembling, his face trembling and his voice trembling: "How could this happen?"
Leonardo frowned, glared and roared: "You bastard, think about how to make up for it!"
Nicholson glanced at him and couldn't help but shake his head: "You are too bad, you have too many flaws."
Before Leonardo could speak, Martin strode over and hugged his neck: "Have you ever used it?"
Nicholson sat up and suddenly became energetic: "He is a coward and dare not use it."
Leonardo pointed at Nicholson: "You..."
Martin said: "Your signature three-hit combo has come out, I can't see you are acting?"
Leonardo was helpless, as he turned out to be the one whose acting skills were despised among the trio.
Martin ignored the **** and asked Nicholson: "Why are you hospitalized? You don't know how to have a carnival party. Do you have too many at one time?"
"Basketball game." Nicholson was a little excited: "That **** referee was targeting the Lakers the whole game. I yelled behind him, reminding him to be fair and just, but he went even more..."
Martin said quickly: "Calm down, calm down."
Nicholson took a deep breath: "I was so angry that his blood pressure rose and my heart felt a little uncomfortable. It's nothing serious."
Leonardo said: "You are the mascot of the Lakers. If you yell at the referee, the referee can't do anything to you as a spectator. He can only blame the team."
Nicholson said: "You don't watch basketball very much, you don't understand it at all."
Leonardo spread his hands and said no more.
Martin said to Nicholson: "You have a good rest and don't think so much."
Seeing that the old **** couldn't listen, he simply said: "Do you want Leo and I to have fun in the future while you watch helplessly?"
"Absolutely not!" Nicholson listened this time and lay back on the hospital bed obediently: "I will fight for another ten years, and I want revenge on Naomi Campbell!"
Leonardo was amused by him: "Martin, you bastard, you still have something to do!"
Nicholson chased people away: "You two bastards, all go away, don't disturb my rest."
Martin said: "Have a good rest and call me and Leo if you need anything."
Leonardo also said: "The trio of **** are still waiting for you to come out and take charge of the overall situation."
Nicholson felt uncomfortable when he heard this: "I'm just a small problem, but you guys are talking about me as if I'm going to die!"
Leonardo took Martin out of the ward with him.
Martin said: “Looking for a place to have a drink and chat?”
Leonardo responded: "Let's go."
