Chapter 289 Almost died

At New York's JFK Airport, most of the crew were wandering around in the terminal boredly, waiting for the weather to improve.

 A sudden heavy rain caused widespread flight delays, and the crew's charter flight was temporarily unable to take off.

Martin stood by the window, raindrops pattered on the glass in front of him, so dense that he couldn't even see clearly the Boeing passenger plane not far away.

 Bruce brought a bottle of water over.

 Martin took it, opened it, took a sip, and asked: "In such horrible weather, only civilian pilots from the polar bear family dare to take off, right?"

Bruce shrugged and said in a standard American tone: "Who knows, they'll go crazy and even drink antifreeze."

 Chad hurried over to check on the rain and muttered, "When will it stop?"

 Martin asked: "My girlfriend is waiting for you in Los Angeles?"

"I'm a single man without a girlfriend." Chad organized his words a little and said, "Remember Marcus we met at Kane's Angel Shooting Club?"

The name sounded familiar. Martin recalled it for a moment and remembered: "The soldier who served in Afghanistan?"

Chad nodded: "Yes, that's him. Marcus is particularly interested in the film industry and wants to switch to stuntman and action director after retiring. He has kept in touch with me."

He paused for a while before saying: "I lost contact with him in December. I just learned last week that the SEAL team Marcus was part of was attacked during a mission, and he was the only one who survived."

Bruce then said: "He is lucky. In a ghost place like Afghanistan, being alive is better than anything else."

 Martin did not make any indication and was not interested in the life or death of the SEAL team.

Chad added: "Marcus retired from the army and decided to settle in Los Angeles. He suffered a lot of psychological trauma. I had made an appointment with him to go see him as soon as we got off the plane."

Martin said: "Don't worry, this kind of strong convective weather will end as quickly as it comes."

 After waiting for nearly two hours, the crew finally boarded the charter flight back to Los Angeles.

 Martin asked for a blanket to sleep on.

Bruce moved next to Chad and they talked about Afghanistan.

 Coming back from the cold and humid New York to the sunny Los Angeles, people feel inexplicably happy.

 After a passionate kiss, Martin and Bruce got into the Mercedes-Benz G driven by Blake.

Bruce drove back to the Coty community. Martin and Blake were still getting their luggage from the car when the doorbell rang.

 Martin waved his hand and quickly got into the car.

Bruce stepped on the accelerator, and the car immediately accelerated away from here.
