Warlord of Chaos Warlord of Chaos Chapter 274

Chapter 274: The Exiled Seven Brothers

The newly raised vampire queen Linsel trained her vampire troops day after day. Since the death of Betty and Caroline, she had gained control over the troops. She of course clearly knew that such a thing was made possible by a single man; for that man, the controller of the troops didn't matter, but the faithfulness of that leader did.

As Linsel absent-mindedly brainstormed about means to further solidify her position, she suddenly came upon a weird sensation and turned her eyesight to the west.

At that same time, all the vampires seemed to sense something and followed her to look towards the west. However, there seemed to be nothing visible to the eye, other than the plains and the blue sky.

But each vampire, including Linsel, could sense the throbbing sensation deep within their heart; it was like their most primal desire being suddenly awakened. Each vampire began to grow restless.

The feeling gradually intensified, as Linsel's heartbeat accelerated, eventually to the extent that she could hear the thumping through her ears. All the vampires' heartbeats were adjusted to the same rhythm, as if they were matching a beat!

“Dong! Dong!” The vampires' heartbeats pounded one after another, as if they were following a beating drum. Nothing but the vampires' heartbeats was audible in the surrounding area.

“Dong! Dong!” Suddenly, the heartbeats of thousands of surrounding vampires merged into a single beat, echoing across the vast surrounding area. Each and every vampire quickly grew anxious, but weirdly, nobody dared to move; they stood still and waited for something.

Finally, a cloud arrived from the horizon, followed by an unprecedented, earth-filling pressure of authority. Linsel's brain suddenly turned blank, as she was forced to kneel down.

Next, a weird scene occurred; the vampires crept on the ground in an incomparable loyal pose, as if they were waiting for a deity's directions.

Linsel's heart quickly filled with fear, as she knew what was coming; it was the Predecessor, the god-like existence of the vampires! If the Pope was the spiritual leader and the voice of God for humans, the Predecessor of the Vampires was God!

Not a single vampire could reject the will of the Predecessor, neither mentally or physically. The spiritual shackle, engraved deeply since antiquity, couldn't be wiped away in the lives of the vampires.

Linsel wanted to return and inform the weird occurences to the man, but she couldn't move, as if the mental shackle confined her not only mentality, but also physically.

The cloud was drawing closer and closer, to the extent that Linsel could already see the giant silver bat flying towards her face. Slowly, Linsel stuck her head to the ground; her subjugation to the Predecessor was already deeply carved into her blood. At this point, that man no longer mattered.

Alquete flew directly towards the front side of the contingent, his eyes blinking with enchanting red lights. The huge mental powers allowed him to sense the faith and subjugation of the descendants. Alquete smiled without any sound; any other vampire of his era wouldn't be able to achieve such an effect. Only Alquete, the most mentally powerful of the vampires, could do such, because his talent was unique to all vampires: the Mind Chain.

Zaganide had appeared atop the walls at some unknown time, looking at the approaching cloud with gloomy eyes.

“Linsel!” Zaganide suddenly snorted; his dull voice was like a thunder cloud exploding next to Linsel's ears. She suddenly felt relief; the shackle that had confined her seemed to have disappeared.

“Are you going to say hello?!”

Linsel quietly looked at Zaganide, moving ahead of the crowd, standing at the front.

The red light in Alquete's eyes suddenly magnified. Even his body was illuminated by a layer of faintly discernible blood; his flight speed accelerated abruptly.

Meanwhile, Linsel cried as her heart felt as if it was being beaten by a huge wooden hammer. She couldn't help but kneel down as her legs suddenly softened.

“Old dude…” Zaganide snorted quietly, “He has some manners. He let you win this round for now.”

Alquete's body turned into a silver light under sudden acceleration, turning into a human shape before reaching the space above Linsel. Weirdly, despite the lack of support from his wings, Alquete's body didn't fall to the ground, as he managed to walk down step by step as if he was stepping on invisible stairs.

The vampires were not surprised, however, they kept their bodies close to the ground with increasing faith, as if it was the only way to show respect to their predecessor.

Zaganide's pupils suddenly shrunk, as he spoke in a voice that only he could hear, “Has the mental power turned into a real matter? Haha, but unfortunately, the powerful man from the deep pitch, do you really not know? Showing off excessively is usually a sign of inferiority…”

However, no signs of inferiority could be found on Alquete's face. Caressing his well-organized silver hair, Alquete spoke kindly, “Get up, my kids.”

It was just a brief sentence, but the vampires could all sense a warm stream flowing from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet, creating unparalleled relief across their bodies. This further solidified their belief; they each obediently kowtowed before standing up.

Linsel then made her way towards Alquete, bowed down to the ground, then stood to the side quietly.

Alquete then looked up to Zaganide on the wall and smiled, “Young man, are you longing to talk to me while standing there?”

Zaganide then let out an extended laugh and jumped down the wall, landing in front of Alquete, slightly curving his body with his right hand at his chest, “Zaganide is highly honored for your arrival.”

At that moment, a weird light skipped through Alquete's eyes, as he rapidly resumed normalcy. He had noticed that Zaganide made no sound whatsoever as he lay flat on the ground.

“I have to come.” Alquete sighed, showing signs of grieving.

“I will give you an explanation regarding that affair.” Zaganide continued quietly, “Please sit inside, talking here is inconvenient.”

At this point, the main troop of vampires that followed Alquete had arrived; they each landed on the ground in human form, creating a huge, organized phalanx.

Alquete then nodded and made his way into the castle with Zaganide, without taking a glimpse at the other vampires.

Zaganide, somewhat surprised, asked quietly, “Should the clansmen that came with you get a place to settle?”

Alquete waved his hands, liberally saying, “No need, just let them wait outside.”

Alquete didn't speak loudly. However, the other vampires, quite some distance away, could hear him clearly, promptly keeling down together, loudly responding, “Yes! Predecessor!”

One vampire's voice may not be loud, but when thousands of vampires spoke at the same time, their voices echoed like thunder, exploding atop the castle.

Zaganide shook his head a barely noticeable amount; a sarcastic smile lingered on his mouth. However, Alquete, walking next to him, didn't notice.

Upon entering the inner hall, Zaganide specifically let Alquete take the leading seat, who sat without declining. Even though Zaganide was the owner of the castle, Alquete's position was higher. Comparing the owner of a city and the leader of a huge clan, the more prestigious figure was clearly Alquete.

“I am very sad about the news regarding Betty and Caroline.” Zaganide said straightforwardly. Since the Predecessor of the vampires showed up at such a time, the purpose of the meeting was clear without explanation.

“But you clearly know that their actions did not obtain my approval, because that's not within my Sphere of Influence. More importantly, there are multiple enemies who are glaring covetously at me; I have no way to leave here, not because I don't want to seek revenge, but because I indeed cannot.” Zaganide spoke in a frank tone; he indeed spoke the truth.

Alquete listened silently, without speaking.

Zaganide sighed as he continued, “You should be able to imagine the impact this has had on me. I not only lost two wives; my son also died in the hands of that young man. If possible, I really want to go to Isolated Cliff City to tear that damned dude into pieces!”

“So to say… your reasons for being here aren't positive either?” Alquete finally spoke.

“Time! I need time!” Zaganide shouted, determined, “I have what they have, but they don't have what I have! Given me enough time, do you think they will still be my enemy?”

Alquete took a moment to silently think, then let out a sudden smile, “Time…. for we the vampires, time may be one of the last things we're in lack of.”

“But…” Alquete's fingers tapped his armrest lightly. He then spoke slowly, “I can't permit Betty and Caroline's killer to live in this world.”

Zaganide then put his hands out awkwardly, “See, I am indeed unable to leave at this point; otherwise, I would have gone myself much earlier. Will you please give me some more time?”

Alquete sighed and shook his head, “It seems like my antiquated bones need to be relieved.”

“You mean…” Zaganide moved his body forward, showing signs of happiness in his eyes.

“If we turn Isolated Cliff City into our own city, will your situation be more beneficial geographically?”

“Your city?” Zaganide's expressions turned dignified.

“Yes.” Alquete elegantly took the wine glass next to his hand and took a sip, as if he didn't notice the impacts of his words to the person in front.

After hearing Alquete's words, Zaganide froze with a gloomy frown, absolutely frightened. He originally believed that the Predecessor of vampires only came to seek revenge, and he never expected that he intended to use the opportunity to seize a spot on the ground. It was beyond a minor conflict between lords; it was a complete invasion. The ground and the Abyss were two entirely different worlds; a clash between the two rendered nothing other than the complete destruction of one party.

Though Zaganide had many Abyssal species under his control, they were ultimately controlled by his own humanity; they wouldn't give him any major advantage compared to the armies of troops of other lords. Therefore, the other lords would barely react to Zaganide's front, other than despising him for using the Abyssal species to achieve his own purposes.

However, it was different this time. If Isolated Cliff City was really occupied by the vampire Predecessor, the aboriginals of the city would be slaughtered; in the future, it was highly likely that large sums of Abyssal species would spring up from the city, and spread away.

Were that day to actually come, Zaganide would be the sinner of the whole continent; all high level fighters would put blame on him, the initiator.

However, they were all issues to deal with in the future. The immediate benefits were visible; since the vampires would occupy Isolated Cliff City, with a cooperative campaign, Holy Crown City and the Wild Willow City could both be seized one by one, making it easy for Zaganide to take back his own Black Raven City.

Zaganide couldn't act peaceful anymore, and signs of his own struggles were beginning to appear on his face.

Laughably, and pathetically, Zaganide, as a depraved Dark Druid, only managed to solidify his presence and gradually achieve his own ambitions with the power of the Abyssal species. However, his glory couldn't be based on the extinction of humanity—- ultimately Zaganide is human. He knew the fact that he is not accepted by human society, but denying his own humanity also meant denying himself, Zaganide!

Alquete looked at the human lord standing towards his front. Alquete had already thought of using his mental power to influence Zaganide several of times; but Alquete knew clearly that his mental power was not as effective for some warriors who have lived through many battles, for their mental state was usually very strong.

Alquete never tried anything that could possibly backfire; instead of letting Zaganide sense his intentions and create emotions of resistance, it was wiser to let him choose for himself. Alquete believed that his bait was sufficiently lucrative —- such a highly ambitious human lord shouldn't forfeit such a chance.

Suddenly, the door to the living room was opened as four monsters, each about three meters in height and with ferocious faces, walked in one by one and stood behind Zaganide.

At that moment, Alquete's pupils promptly shrunk into a single point, like a needle tip. He then let out a cold stare directed at the four monsters. Their faces were each extraordinarily ugly; even able to frighten adults. Finally, Alquete's eyes landed on the giant bone scythes they held; he noticed that none of the monsters had left hands. He suddenly thought of a rumor, then asked tentatively, “The exiled Seven Brothers of Wip?!”

“Didn't know that Prince Alquete knew our brothers.” One of the monsters laughed, its mouth wide open.

Alquete quickly shut his mouth, his facial expressions extremely cold. His anticipated advantage was immediately overthrown, as he had never expected that Zaganide would manage to solicit the Seven Brothers of Wip!

As condescending and powerful as Alquete looks like, he was not arrogant enough to assume that vampires were enemy-free in the world. Just within the Abyss, the vampires couldn't rank first place; even the black dragons, who could neglect any magical attacks and create countless reigns of terrors wherever they reached would have to back off in front of the race of the Seven Brothers of Wip.

Abyssal Demons! The very enemies of the Grand Sky Angels, and the most loyal servants of the Grim Reaper Hamas!

Of all the powerful races, the Abyssal Demons were not the most powerful, but they were definitely the most annoying to fight due to the fact that all Abyssal Demons can move instantly! Also, there is no limit whatsoever in their instant movements.

Alquete and his clan members took more than a month to fly from the Abyss to the ground, even without any real annoyances; for the Abyssal Demons, it only took a matter of days!

For a sufficiently powerful warrior, killing a demon was far more difficult than killing a giant dragon, for they could flee from battle as they see fit; for an insufficiently powerful warrior, evacuation would become a luxury, for no organism has ever fled from the chase of a demon!

In the war front, just the demons' existence was held in awe; they could concentrate the power of a clan and apply crushing powers of an attack on a line or at a certain point; such tactics had killed countless Light Angels!

The Seven Brothers of Wip also had special identities; the Abyssal Demons had their own rules, and the Seven Brothers of Wip were expelled and had their right hands cut for violating certain bans. However, Auqete knew that he could never fight several demons at once, even injured demons!

The consequence of taking the fight would lead his clan to extinction, and fleeing from such a fight was impossible.

“I feel weird.” Alquete spoke in a cold tone, “Do you still need time with the assistance of the Seven Brothers of Wip? ”

“I ran into a few difficulties.” Zaganide stopped and sighed, “You will know in a few days.”

“Seven Brothers of Wip, haha, it seems like we have three missing.” Alquete's eyesight scanned each of the demons.

“They…” Zaganide smiled, “They will stay where they're needed.”

“Oh.” Alquete closed his eyes. He felt depressed, even wronged; he hadn't felt such emotions in a long time, but he had no choice but to withstand.
