Warlord of Chaos Chapter 152: Roaring Lightning

"Exactly what do you mean?" Moxinke pulled a long face and asked again.

"If you had assisted me earlier, I could have saved the other hostage too. It's all your fault! You should be blamed for this failure!"

"Do you think I am a magician who can use Teleportation? I am a fighter!" Moxinke shouted, his face turning crimson with anger. "Don't always blame me! I have already tolerated you for a long time!" While roaring, Moxinke pointed his thick finger at Han Jin's nose.

"You don't have to tolerate me from now on," Han Jin lightly said. "And, do not point at me with your finger. Otherwise, you will regret it!"

"What are you gonna do?" Moxinke was not frightened at all.

With a flash of cold light in Han Jin's eyes, he punched his fist toward Moxinke, who was already prepared and was able to dodge the strike by quickly jerking a few steps back. Moxinke grinned. "You wanna settle this by fighting? Good! My favorite!" This said, he slowly raised his giant sword.

All of the young magicians were puzzled. They had always thought that the team was harmonious, and they hadn't expected them to turn against each other so abruptly. This was ridiculous.

"Stop! Are you trying to trick me?" The soldier angrily shouted. "If you dare move, I will immediately kill her!"

Han Jin was shocked, but his frozen face was immediately melted by a smile. "Moxinke, this guy said we are deceiving him."

"Oh... we failed? How disappointing..." Moxinke muttered before roaring again. "Give me a hint next time before you're about to hit me! Do you realize how clever I am to consider you a villain and always look out for you!"

The soldier showed a complicated expression, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. His heart immediately turned chilly. The magicians were nothing to him, but these two mercenaries in front of him were being so annoying; they didn't even bother to care about him and were deliberately teasing him with ironic and invective words and behaviors as if he were a child. How confident they must be to act like this!

Two mercenaries? The soldier suddenly stiffened. No! Where is the high-grade thief?

No matter whether the show that Han Jin and Moxinke played was successful or not, at least they had successfully distracted their attention. This was their real purpose: to give Reg a chance to release his Art of Invisibility without being noticed.

A horrible streak of lighting dropped down from the skies and thudded onto the ground with an overwhelming momentum, devouring figures one after another. At the same time, a black arrow shot across the grounds toward Reg, but it was instantly turned into debris and splashed all over the place.

The last scene they saw was the thief being exploded into pieces and being engulfed by the boundless white light as soon as he had turned invisible.

The earth and the sky seemed to have entirely disappeared. All they could see was the roaring and crazy lightning. The deafening sound of bombing ceaselessly occurred, accompanied by the sound of countless branches and the soil, sand, and gravel being splashed around.

Moxinke hastily steadied himself and retreated back in panic. Han Jin was also struck dumb. They could cast a greedy eye at the genius magus's beauty or laugh at her inexperience, but the magic energy she possessed could not be ignored.

The flying silver snake finally faded. Reg, who was also stunned, reappeared under their naked eyes. He stood up straight in the magic shell and did not dare move a single step.

The magician whose leg had been trampled on and broken also stopped howling, and instead stared dully at the genius magus. The muscles on his face became distorted. He finally believed that they really had a magus! Was the god of destiny making a fool out of him?

A sudden loud cry broke the silence. The female magician struggled out of Reg's arm and ran to her companions. The two deacons, along with the other young female magicians, also crowded around her, hugging and crying.

Asa immediately ran toward the fainted female magician. She was the unlucky hostage whose fingers had been snapped, whereas her companion was only punched in the belly.

In fact, luck exists everywhere. As all of them will encounter various kinds of dangers; some may tide over the difficulties and go further, while others may die halfway.

Moxinke walked back while carrying his giant sword. He looked into Han Jin's eyes and kicked the totally useless hostage. "Close your eyes, buddy. It'll be quick."

The magician was puzzled but soon realized what was about to happen and cried. "No! Don't kill me..."

Moxinke's giant sword had already begun swinging down, and the cry was abruptly stopped. The magician's neck was neatly cut into two sections. He helplessly struggled till his body softened.

Reg cast a glance around. Their enemies were all lying on the ground in various strange postures. Han Jin moved toward each of them, randomly picked up a sword, and thrust it down into the bodies. Each time he pulled out his sword, deep wounds would be left in their bodies.

Many legendary heroes have indomitable vitality like cockroaches. As the saying goes, he who survives a catastrophe is bound to have a good fortune. "We could have rescued them. Why did you kill him?" The genius magus asked. Somehow, her voice was much softer and not as cold as it used to be.

"What's the difference?" she asked and added. "My name is Yalina. You can call me by my name."

Moxinke directly ignored the last half of her sentence. "Dear headmaster, you will be back with your students after finishing this task, but what about us? We still need to live here!"

"I still don't understand. Can you make it clearer?" the genius magus replied.

"Who here doesn't have friends?" Moxinke replied helplessly. "Perhaps, they were just a mercenary team, or perhaps, they were some guys from a mercenary regiment. If any of them went back alive, they would avenge us sooner or later!"

"He is right," added Reg. "If they openly come at us, we won't be afraid, but what if they lurk like a viper and attack us when we are in danger?"

"Better an open enemy than a false friend," Han Jin concluded.

"Are you complimenting me?" Sunier jumped down from the tree and said with a smile.

"But... but..." The genius magus paused. "But it's not our fault!"

"Dear headmaster." Moxinke helplessly scratched his head. "If everyone in this world was as reasonable as you, would there still be slaughter or plunder?"

She paused and said with a lowered voice after a while, "Yes... You remind me of some words you said before this."

"What did I said?" Moxinke was stunned.

"You said that, in this forest, humans are more terrible than holy animals." The genius magus showed a warm smile. "Got it now, thank you."

"I..." Moxinke stood frozen. He had never seen such a bright and lovely smile before, and he almost lost himself in it.
