Xu Xiuying glanced at her phone and read the message. She maintained her poker face even though she was excited.

In secret, Xu Xiuying texted back.

Xiong Zhenzhen didn't reply. But after a minute, she walked out of the infirmary with the physician elder while they were carrying someone on a stretcher.

Xu Miao snapped back to his senses and turned toward the source of the sound. Kang Yan also woke up from her slumber and brought out a shield and a rapier, preparing for urgent combat.

The shockwaves kept hitting every building in the mountain goose town. Incomprehensible screaming came from the other buildings as some of the cultivators got injured from the unknown force.

Xu Miao covered his ears. His head was ringing, and dizziness overwhelmed him.

Kang Yan also did the same. Blood slowly dripped down from her ears and nostrils.

None of them knew what had happened to cause such forces, but they might die. Xu Miao rushed to Kang Yan's side and shoved a couple of healing pills into her mouth. He also didn't forget to eat some of them.

In a panic, Xu Miao grabbed Kang Yan's hand and rushed out of their room to hide in the hallway, away from all windows.

The impacts worsened. Xu Miao could sense flying furniture banging against the wall inside the room.

More disciples also got out of their rooms to get away from windows. None of them cared about Xu Miao's current form as they were too confused to think of anything.

*WHOOM*

After a few minutes, a semi-transparent barrier appeared around the brothel. The shockwaves couldn't get through the arrays, and everything went quiet.

*VIIIII*

[Ahem. Testing, testing. This is Long Meifang, the manager of the contribution hall. I've activated the sect's protection array. No shockwave can damage our building now. Everything is under control.]

Long Meifang announcement echoed in everybody's mind. The elder took care of everything and controlled the situation before the disciples got severely injured.

Xu Miao heaved a sigh of relief. He patted Kang Yan's shoulder and brought her back into his room.

However, the disciples already noticed the existence of a short-haired man.
