Miaomiao hummed as he strolled in the backstage hallway, making his way back to the VIP box room. He also passed the locker rooms of Holy Land Tournament's contestants.

Among the rooms, Miaomiao saw a name tag that he knew.

Meng Xin

'Right. Come to think of it, the girls said that the brat has grown up. Should I beat the shit out of him for fun again?'

He raised his fist, planning to knock on the door.

But the door was suddenly opened, and Meng Xin cautiously stared at Miaomiao's face.

"What do you want… bitch?"

Miaomiao raised his eyebrows. He glanced at his purple hands and realized that his appearance had changed, so Meng Xin might not be able to remember him.

Still, how dare Meng Xin called him a bitch?

Miaomiao wanted to slap Meng Xin so bad. Yet, he maintained his smiling face.

"Nothing. Just want to say hi."

"Okay… Hi. Goodbye."

Meng Xin slammed shut the door.

He locked it as well.

"Wow. Rude!"

Miaomiao kicked the door and sent it flying inside the room.

As if Meng Xin had anticipated the move, he caught the metal door and kicked it back to Miaomiao.

Miaomiao widened his eyes and soccer-kicked it back.

Meng Xin jumped up and sent a spinning kick at the flying door, sending it back to Miaomiao.

Ten minutes later

BOOM

The door was completely changed into a metallic ball as both men kept kicking it back and forth. For an unknown reason, both of them didn't want to yield to their opponent.

The commotion attracted the attention of tournament contestants, who had been resting in their locker rooms. They opened the door to see what had transpired here.

Upon realizing that Miaomiao and Meng Xin were being childish and playing volleyball with their feet, they spat and returned to their room.

Soon, many immortals came down from the room to fetch Miaomiao since the latter had been away for too long.

When they discovered Miaomiao's immature behavior, they rolled their eyes.

Meng Hong stood in front of the group and warily stared at Miaomiao. He cupped his fist, "Fellow Daoist Mao. Could you quit it? You're disturbing other contestants."

Miaomiao caught the metal ball and tossed it away. He glanced at Meng Xin and scoffed, "I just wanted to say hi to this boy, but he was being rude."

Meng Xin pointed his finger at Miaomiao's face, "You're the one being unreasonable, bitch! Who in the human world tried to enter a young man's locker room uninvited? Who the hell are you anyway? A demon whore?"

"How the hell did you not remember me?"

Miaomiao was sad. He was looking forward to the heartwarming reunion, but Meng Xin hurt his feeling.

Meng Hong coughed. He walked toward his son and introduced Miaomiao, "This is the patriarch of the Mao Clan, Mao Miaomiao. You should have seen him before, but, well, I understand why you didn't remember him. He kinda… changes."

"WHAT?!"

Meng Xin was so engrossed in cultivating, and he didn't pay attention to the Clan Lord Tournament. Moreover, he had thought that the first match's contestants would have been someone else.

He didn't watch the live broadcast. Thus, he didn't know that Miaomiao had changed a lot.

Meng Xin sized up Miaomiao and had a deep frown, after which he sneered, "So, you're gay. Congratulations on discovering your fetish, senior sissy. I hope that your ass is desirable since most cultivators hate gay men."

Miaomiao scoffed, "Oh, please. I still have a dick, and I still fuck my wives regularly, mind you. I'm not like you, an edgy jacking-addicted depraved virgin ape. Put the lotion back in the locker before you start talking shit to your senior."

"What lotion? You're not making a lot of sense."

Miaomiao pointed at the bench behind Meng Xin. There was a bottle of liquid soap there, which indeed belonged to Meng Xin.

The latter just came out from a bath, and he forgot to store it properly.

Meng Xin's face reddened. He bellowed in rage, "Who's a virgin!? You're a virgin!"

"FYI, I have like 20 wives, you donkey."

"You…"

Meng Xin was flustered. He hadn't prepared his mind to face his nemesis, and he was panicked. As a result, he failed to come up with an excuse or a comeback.

Onlookers smirked and shook their heads. They believed in Miaomiao and misunderstood Meng Xin.

Meng Hong noticed that the situation was not in his son's favor, he stepped up and changed the subject, "By the way, patriarch Mao. What are you doing in front of my son's locker room? What were you two doing?"

Miaomiao shrugged, "I just wanted to say hi to that brat since we haven't met for years. Unfortunately, that rude brat slammed the door on my face and refused to talk to me normally. Welp, I tried to talk to him, and that happened."

"You broke the door first, you asshole!" Meng Xin refuted.

"I knocked on the door, but you blew the door against me. I had to defend myself."

"Bullshit! You kicked the door toward me first!"

"See over there?" Miaomiao pointed behind him, "Behind me is a locker room of another tournament contestant. I couldn't possibly dodge, or you would have accidentally destroyed the stadium property or hurt the other contestants. As a senior, I was just trying my best to protect you and avoid complications. You just never appreciate my help."

"Horse-fucking-shit! Protecting me? You were trying to kill me!"

"Said the ape that hasn't learned how to speak a human language. Your father must be ashamed of you. He must have regretted having a rude donkey like you as his son."

Meng Hong coughed as he was hit by a stray bullet. He needed to stop this immature bickering before it could implicate him.

"I forgot to introduce myself, patriarch Mao. I'm Meng Hong, the father of this contestant, Meng Xin."

"Oh!!"

Miaomiao pretended to be shocked and humbly saluted to Meng Hong, "I'm so sorry. I didn't know that such a prestigious immortal is the father of this ape-I mean young man. Please forgive my rudeness."

"It doesn't matter," Meng Hong scoffed and waved his hand as if he didn't mind it. Yet, he inwardly cursed Miaomiao in his mind.

Meng Hong hated Miaomiao as the latter was the reason why Fang Yanxu annulled the marriage between his son and Fang Meirong. He also wanted to pay back for the humiliation, but he didn't want to be punished by Karma.

Now that Miaomiao bullied his son, Meng Hong's hatred for Miaomiao reached a new height. He now wanted to teach Miaomiao a lesson.

Secretly, Meng Hong checked the Clan Lord Tournament brackets. He scanned for the member of the Meng Clan among the list.

Meng Clan had a subsidiary clan on this mortal world, but they didn't have the same surname. The clan leader who served the Immortal Meng Clan had the surname "Wen".

Meng Xin's expression turned ugly as he thought of Miaomiao's obnoxious behavior and his shamelessness. He didn't know why, but he felt like he needed to kill Miaomiao ASAP.

'Too bad. We're in a different tournament. Consider yourself lucky, Mao Miaomiao!'

Meng Xin took a deep breath and cut the black string with his Dao Blade.

Miaomiao suddenly widened his eyes and vomited several mouthfuls of blood. His memory went hazy, and a portion of his memory disappeared.

"What's wrong?!" Meng Hong helped Miaomiao up, but he inwardly laughed at the latter.

He knew what went wrong. After all, his son could severe karma!

Miaomiao wiped his mouth while his golden pupils flared. An invisible strand of negative karma came out from his right eye and pointed in the direction of Meng Xin's locker room.

Miaomiao turned around. Then, he found a loose karmic string, which had been attached to him recently.

The string was dark red, the color of hatred and evil-intend. It represented Miaomiao's attitudes toward Meng Xin.

The string wiggled for a while before it dissipated. Miaomiao's short-term memory about the incident earlier disappeared as well.

He totally forgot what he had done to Meng Xin earlier!

However, Miaomiao could tell that Meng Xin did something to him!

'It seems that one of your karmic threads has been cut.'

Miaomiao heard the voice of Xu Chu. She seemed to have sensed the anomaly.

'So, will Meng Xin be punished by the negative karma?' Miaomiao was curious if Meng Xin would suffer from the karma tribulation soon.

'Probably not.'

'What?! But why?! Didn't we go through hell because we cut a karmic string?'

Miaomiao gritted his teeth. He slowly stood up and concentrated on recovering from the sudden injury.

He commanded it.

After sending the negative karma strand to curse his enemy, Miaomiao returned to the VIP box room to recuperate.

Meng Xin's face was pale.

Although he successfully severed his karma string between him and Miaomiao, his hatred toward the latter didn't lessen a bit, and he had exerted a lot of energy to cut Miaomiao's karma string.

The string was too strong. He felt like he had tried to cut a steel wire with a kitchen scissor.

Moreover, a new strand of black string emerged and coiled around Meng Xin. The other end also led to the direction of Miaomiao.

Meng Xin was confused. He could see the karma river, and Samsara's strings of karma had already vanished.

He was sure that Samsara, who governed karma was dead.

The parrot pecked Meng Xin's nose and scolded Meng Xin in a high-pitched noise.

"Whenever Samsara God dies, the new one is automatically selected from the karma cultivators within seven years. The lucky one will inherit all memory, skill, techniques, and power of the previous Samsara God! And you know what? Lady Third thinks you can inherit the title of Samsara!"

"How?!" Meng Xin was pleasantly surprised, "Teach me, master!"

This parrot, Lady Third, was his secret mentor. He managed to rescue the spirit of an ancient high-elf from an abandoned ruin, and she returned the favor by imparting the Karmic Severing Dao and becoming his Dao Spirit.

However, her personality was not very respectable.

Meng Xin sweated profusely. He hesitated if he should follow his silly mentor's instruction.

While the protagonist's story was progressing, the invisible negative karma string sneaked into the locker room through the ceiling.

It entered the back of Meng Xin's neck undetected.
