Charles Mu picked Linda up and walked toward the car, carrying her on his shoulders.
Ouch...
Linda was writhing in pain. The bruises all over her body would hurt even if they were just touched. Now as Charles was carrying her, she felt pressure on the bruises and the resultant pain.
"Charles Mu, what are you doing? Let go of me!" Linda yelled as she felt miffed by his behavior.
Charles Mu didn't answer and put Linda on the passenger seat. Then he closed the door and sat on the driving seat.
As his foot jammed against the accelerator, the Bugatti Veyron leapt forward, with its engine roaring.
Linda hadn't buckled her seat belt. She nearly lost her balance and hit the windshield.
Linda tried to fasten the seat belt hurriedly. But the car was going too fast, which made Linda feel dizzy.
"Charles Mu, did you lose your mind? Why are you driving so fast?"
There were some schools in that neighborhood. So the traffic was light, but there were many students on the road. Linda was feeling worried that driving so fast could disrupt the traffic and the car might crash into some students.
No matter what Linda said to Charles, he remained silent, which annoyed Linda further.
"You bastard, say something or I am going to jump out of the car."
Charles Mu glanced at her and said lightly: "Then have a try. I bet you can't even open the door."
Hearing this, Linda felt embarrassed, realizing she had made a fool of herself. The door couldn't be opened since Charles locked it.
Linda lifted her eyebrows and retorted, "Well, the door is locked, but the window is not!"
Said Linda, as she rolled down the window and stuck her head out.
Seeing what Linda was doing, Charles slammed on the brake and pulled over the car.
He narrowed his eyes and asked with a stolid face: "Why didn't you tell me that you were going out with a man?"
Linda felt upset when what she had been worrying about really happened. She didn't tell Charles about going out with Robert out of fear that he would get angry. Besides, Robert was just a friend whom Linda had not met for two years. Linda thought it was not such a big deal.
But Charles did not think so. He?is so possessive about Linda that he would not allow her to have lunch with another man.
"I know you would get angry if you know it. So I didn't tell you. Robert was really just a friend. Did you see I brought Bun with me?", she said.
He responded: "Don't you think I would be angrier if I get to know that you tried to hide the whole lunch thing from me?"
"OK, let's come to the point. How did you know that I had lunch with Robert in the restaurant? I didn't tell anyone except Bun. You had someone following me?"
Asked Linda, as she stared at Charles Mu. Even though they were lovers, Linda still needed some privacy.
She is fine with Bun remaining with her all the time, because it's for her safety. But it didn't sound reasonable that someone else is following her.
That made Linda feel as if she's a prisoner.
She wanted Charles Mu's explanation about it.
Charles Mu turned around to look at Linda and took her hands. He said: "If I had people follow you all the time, Vincent Zhou would not have a chance to kidnap you the day you went to Derek Xie's home."
Then he took out some photos from his pocket and said: "Half an hour ago, someone sent these photos to me."
Linda took the photos and studied them.
The photos were taken when Robert Huo and she were at the door of the restaurant and Robert gave her roses.
But the camera angle was manipulated, so that in the photos Linda looked pretty happy, cradling the roses.
As a matter of fact, Charles Mu felt there was something fishy about these photos at his first look.
But the anger of seeing Linda hanging out with another man got into his head.
Any man in this world would have had the same feeling as Charles when he sees?his beloved woman accepting roses from another man.
Linda explained: "Something is wrong with the picture. I didn't accept the roses when Robert offered them. The photos were taken when I gave the flowers back to him, but from this angle, it looks as if I took the flowers from him. Then I agreed to hold them because Robert Huo wanted to take some photos of me. He's quite good at taking photos."
"I know you won't cheat on me, " said Charles Mu with a nod. He felt much better now.
What he had done still irritated her, so Linda snapped, "You idiot! You know I don't have any affair with him and I didn't accept his roses. Then why are you mad at me? I was just hanging out with an old friend."
Charles Mu rested one of his hands on the wheel and rubbed his temple with the other, saying, "Darling, you really don't know why?"
Linda glanced sideways at him and asked, "Why?"
"... Actually, I was mad at you because I saw you going out with another man. If you were me, wouldn't you have the same feeling?"
Linda thought for a while and said: "I think I would."
"That's it."
Linda's eyes became moist with tears. She asked, "but you were so rude to me just now."
Charles Mu was at a loss for words. It seemed that he was responsible for the bickering. "..."
"I just felt you don't love me, you know." Now her eyes were full of tears.
"Darling, it's all my fault..." Now Charles Mu understood the old saying, there is always an hierarchy in the world, and it looked like he was right under Linda.
In the past, he had always been too proud to apologize. After he met Linda, he was always responsible for the bickering between them.
"Fine, apology accepted." After saying that, Linda sniffed and couldn't stop smiling through tears.
There was a weird sound in the car, breaking the silence. It turned out that Linda's stomach was rumbling. She missed lunch and now was feeling hungry.
