The Online Craftsmaster 99 Eva Langley

Eva was swamped with work, some weeks ago they finally beat that Colossus that John created. Eva thought that it would get easier after it was removed from the game, but unfortunately one of her Coworkers slacked off and didn't manage to delete the parts of the Angersteel colossus in time.

Some Npcs came and collected them, that wouldn't be a problem as they would be still able to obtain them from mere small Npcs. But the Npcs took these pieces to the Player Mephisto. They wanted to take the Pieces back from Mephisto but unfortunately he came from a rich family that hired one of the best lawyers in the country what extremely slowed down the Process.

So before they had the chance to go through with the court one of their Core AI´s intervened while showing strange Error readings, as such it now was impossible to remove the Angersteel Colossus from the game without destabilising it to a non repairable degree.

And now Eva worked from day to night to isolate the Angersteel Colossus from the Game but recently Virtec Inc. gave up on that endeavor as it wasn't possible. When Eva thought about everything that happened since John started played a small jittering started in her hand forming a fist with the urge to punch a specific face.

Also Eva thought to herself that she must have developed a sixth sense for John shenanigans as she had a strange urge to punch him in the last two days, but she pretended to not notice it and not to look after John to not have to deal with it.

But Eva suddenly stopped working to lean back and think about the past...

[Fifteen Years ago]

Eva was just out of college freshly hired in the tiny company Virtec Inc., at least it seemed like it was a tiny company on the outside but Eva quickly noticed that strange men in Black suits wearing sunglasses came to the company several times a week, and employees weren't supposed to talk with them.

Eva didn't care and worked herself as hard as she could, she started as a lowly programmer that just coded test files every day. But soon her appearance and her work ethics opened doors for promotions son in just five years she jumped up in the ranks and became one of the main programmers that worked on the company's secret project: AI technology.

At her first day in the new department she met her supervisor a cheerful man with good looks, he was well liked in the office, actually he seemed well liked by the world itself as no day would go by without something good happening to him. Most of the time he found some money while walking to work from which he treated his colleagues. It happened so often that it became a tradition to go out for lunch once a week.

Eva wanted to remember him but strangely every time she thought about his name or face she had a sting in her head and she just couldn't remember him more clearly. She only remembered how he welcomed her and showed her the job, they worked hand in hand and created the first independent AI´s which were still unstable.

They worked very hard but couldn't make progress because the Ai´s were breaking down shortly after their creation. Then her supervisor had a brilliant idea, he considered the environment they kept the AI´s in. Now the started working on a World and started inhabiting it with the AI prototypes they had. At first it seemed to work but soon the AI´s broke down again. Now Eva had an idea why not fuse all the AI´s together to form something like an overmind that works like an immune system by killing of all the Error producing AI´s and creating new ones. After some weeks of tweaking something astonishing happened.

A small AI suddenly transformed and formed something like an AI God, everyone celebrated that day. And Eva started to develop feelings for the Supervisor over the time. She loved how they could work hours and hours on the same problem, and she loved the face he made when they found the solution for the problem.

But when Eva wanted to remember what happened with them her memory got hazy again she just knew that she was given a letter and a name for the winner of some kind of lottery their company held.

[Present]

Eva held her head as it was still aching from trying to remember and started working again. While she was working she thought about John, even though she could swear that she never met him before they saw each other ingame, her feelings told her that there was something familiar about him that she remembers.

But because she didn't know from where she was subconsciously teasing him. It all started in the tutorial of the game, actually she was supposed to show him how to craft and stuff and had prepared several blueprints beforehand, but John just started without listening to her. He clumsily went to work and even though she was annoyed by this person as she had to work hours and hours more because of him winning the game, she still caught herself observing him while he was playing the game.

He just felt like family to her but she hated that feeling because she felt like something was missing and she knew that it had to do something with her supervisor from back then who suddenly left the company. That's why she was so cold to John, at least it was one of the reasons. The other reason was that he just creates something that threatens the fifteen years of Work she and her supervisor put into the project.

Eva sighed and gave up and walked to the capsule, she had to get over Johns new shenanigans before more Chaos ensues from his creations. She logged in and found herself in her shiny silver body, she still was amazed every time when enters the game about this body John and his group of friends created.

Eva walked through the halls of the dungeon in the direction of John´s workshop. As Eva was walking she saw Erika sparring with a Demon-o-bot, but as soon as Eva was seen she was pulled into the room by Erika and forced to spar with her. Eva respected Erika greatly, she saw how Erika had sad eyes with a strange gleam in them, Eva never asked what happened to her but she knew that it was something very bad.

After some rounds of sparring (which she lost) she went on after telling Erika to come to the kitchen in an hour. Eva reached the Kitchen and saw Claire sitting in the kitchen, she walked in and was greeted by a smile. She asked Claire if she could make some tea in an hour and contact Vito to come online. Claire agreed and Eva walked towards the Workshop area.

There she met Olaf working on some small metal parts. When Olaf saw her he put away the workpiece he was working on and pulled out a piece of scrap metal and heated it in the forge. They were talking while it heated up and after it was hot enough Olaf pulled it out of the flames and started working on it. Eva loved watching the old smith, even though he was old she felt like she could see bustling lifeforce every time his hammer hit the metal.

Shortly after Olaf cooled down his workpiece and walked up to Eva and put something in her hair. She walked to a nearby mirror and saw a Rose made out of metal in her hair and even though it looked rough because it was polished this roughness made it look alive. She appreciated this gift and thanked Olaf and also asked him to come to the kitchen later. Then she walked into John´s workshop but it was empty so she walked around and looked at John latest workpieces.

She saw some wood pieces and couldn't hold back her laugh as they looked horrible and were obviously made by John. Then she saw some more Wooden workpieces made by Vito and admired the Craftsmanship. And while she finished her round around the Workshop she came to a table which had a small Black shiny wooden box on it.

Eva opened the Box and found seven knives that looked like they were crafted by a Master at smithing. But Eva had a Bad premonition when she saw them so she appraised them, and went completely silent and still standing. Just at that moment John entered the workshop and saw Eva standing before the Carving knifes of Sin, he stopped in his tracks and tried to sneak out without Eva noticing him.

But it was to late as Eva turned around so fast that you just could see a shadow of her movement and soon after John was flying through the workshop. But just as Eva calmed down again she saw that John looked somehow different so she appraised him too...

Over the next half an Hour you could hear something heavy getting thrown through the Workshop until it was time to meet up in the kitchen...
