During the battle, Marduk rode towards Redpath and used his black magic to twist his will and
soul into an evil shadow.
The fallen Captain Redpath then spread his evil spirit among the defenders of Darrowshire. The infected soldiers immediately betrayed their companions and began slaughtering them. Finally, they turned to Darrowshire and slaughtered those who were hiding at home.
It could be said that Marduk the Black was a Death Knight that completely reversed the outcome of the war.
Although he only dealt with militia forces the first time, it was in the second demon war that he really began to shine.
His evil Runic Sword took countless lives until he was defeated by the Dwarf Hero Brian Bronzebeard who wielded a Semi-Artifact Shield in the Battle of Colin's Crossroads Outpost.
Even though Brian Bronzebeard was the youngest of the Bronzebeard brothers, it was a miracle that Marduk the Black was able to escape with his life.
During the battle, the Marduk Black Sword broke when it collided with the Semi-Artifact Shield. The top half fell into the earth and began to corrode the surrounded land. It gradually formed a canyon which was a mark of blade's evil magic.
However, because he only had half of the sword, Marduk the Black's power was greatly reduced. He couldn't take down opponents as quickly as he once did.
Later, he accepted Kel'Thuzad's instruction to guard Scholomance, taking up the opportunity to ask the Mage to find a way to repair his sword. Once his weapon was repaired, he would regain the glory of his past.
In Dawn, any characters they fought in Instance Dungeons were considered to be mere projections. The strength of these characters was not representative of their true strength outside the Instance Dungeons.
Even so, this Marduk the Black with his broken sword could still kill the players over and over.
His cleave required at least three players just to tank the attacks. Lu Li didn't even need to ask; he already knew why Glory Capital had been wiped.
Lu Li seriously suspected that the Marduk Black Sword was a Semi-Artifact, or at least a Legendary weapon, when it was complete. Otherwise, it would be impossible for a broken blade to create the canyon that it did.
As for why Brian Bronzebeard could break such an exquisite sword with a Semi-Artifact Shield, there might have been a number of reasons. Firstly, Brian Bronzebeard was much stronger than Marduk the Black. If someone like Medivh used a tree branch as his Magic Staff, it wouldn't hinder his strength as a demi-god.
Secondly, Brian Bronzebeard was a Dwarf. There was no other race that had a better understanding of weapons, so he must have discovered the weakness of the sword.
The last possible reason was because the Brian Bronzebeard's Shield was from the King of the Old Hills and was just simply too powerful.
"According to the information broadcasted by Glory Capital, the Main Tank was basically one-shot. The game wouldn't create an impossible Boss, so we just need to find a way to withstand its attacks," Lu Li said, pointing out the way that everyone needed to be thinking.
Following behind someone was actually quite convenient for him.
In a short time, they already knew that the Boss' attacks were too high to withstand and had a corrosion aura that would reduce the players' defense.
"Maybe you need a different profession. Perhaps a Mage should tank the attacks?" Wandering thought out loud while looked evilly at Lonesome Flower.
Lonesome Flower's expression turned dark.
"This is a Death Knight and you want me to fight it?"
After discovering that Lonesome Flower had not played along like he expected, Wandering immediately said, "Since it had nothing to do with the profession, then we have to find some other way to share the damage around if we are to defeat this Boss."
