Frostbolt was the most basic Mage skill with a casting time, meaning that it should deal a lot more damage than a Thief skill. However, Ras Frostwhisper still had very strong frost-resistance in spite of his mid-life crisis.
-677!
This was Lu Li's Enhanced Sinister Strike, which dealt a ridiculous amount of damage. If this was used on a player, it would take out almost a third of their HP.
Since Lu Li had already learned enhanced Sinister Strike, he could learn two more enhanced skills.
While he did not have the most Enhanced skills, he definitely had the most useful skill set for a Thief.
Now that the Tank would survive and the DPS classes were doing enough damage, they just needed a strategy.
Ras Frostwhisper's main skill was Frostbolt, but this was not like the normal kind. It was a multi-target skill called Frostbolt Volley. Each Frostbolt dealt an insane amount of damage to the squishier classes and each volley sent the team into chaos.
This put a lot of pressure on the healers.
There was nothing Lu Li could do either because Ras Frostwhisper was a challenging Boss for the party. There weren't any other shortcuts or strategies that would make the fight any easier.
March Rain had many more AOE healing skills, but the most that they covered was five players. As such, there was a lot of pressure on Hachi Chan to cover March Rain. Normally, March Rain was able to cover the entire party while Hachi Chan had an easy job of healing whoever was left out. However, when the Boss fights were difficult, Hachi Chan had to step up her game.
Fortunately, she had been practicing and was no longer an inexperienced newbie.
They were most afraid of a chain attack, which unfortunately hit Sesame Rice Ball Even with his defensive buffs up, he still wasn't able to stay alive.
"Keep going – don't stop. Stay alive for as long as you can."
Lu Li did not order them to stop this time. He knew that Ras Frostwhisper would be a difficult Boss to defeat and he wanted everyone to experience this so that they would have a better chance at the next attempt if they were to fail this time.
"Dodge!" Lu Li yelled as Ras threw a few more Frostbolts towards them.
As everyone was running away, he added, "Eight yards! Make sure to be at least eight yards away from the Frostbolts!"
It was a bit too late as the Frostbolts exploded on the ground where they landed. Unfortunately, two more players were killed – Sakura Memories and Hachi Chan.
The ones who weren't killed immediately were frozen in place for three seconds.
This was the hardest stage of the Boss fight and around 60% of teams would get stuck on it for a few days. This was only the first stage and only the strongest teams would make it to the second.
Lu Li had attempted Scholomance with other strangers in his past life because he didn't belong to a guild. There were very few teams that could make it past the first stage and they would call it quits after being wiped multiple times.
It was also because of Scholomance that he began studying and learning how to be a good shot caller in the hopes that he could lead a powerful team one day.
