/ Queen of the World 9 Chapter 9:Meeting Brother and Wife
Father rushes over, no remorse is shown on his face.
No sympathy.
He quickly picks up Valerie. He gently hugs her tight, as if he never want to let go of her. He then starts crying, not for his dead mistress, but for his daughter. For the fact that his daughter almost died. He then slowly walks to his car and drives back to the house his mistress and Valerie lived in, leaving the dead body of mother to rot. (Valerie is in a car seat)
Father had decided to take somethings from inside, since the mistress is dead. Once he left the car and went into the house, Valerie started thinking ' Jesus Christ, i almost died there', she puts her hand on her chest, trying to calm down her breathing. ' So what now? I wonder where i am going to live now, though its probably in Father's house with the Wife and my half brother.'
She then hears steps coming towards her. She looks up and sees her Father, who came back with a bunch of papers and a toy. He then gets into the car and he looks back at Valerie, with a caring expression and he hands her the toy. He then turns his back to Valerie and proceeds to drive to his house.
Father's house was a large mansion, way bigger than the house Valerie had lived in with Mother. It was a very modern looking house that was surrounded with a 10 feet gate. In the front of the house was a large, elegant fountain and the ground was covered with white hydrangea flowers,which looked like fluffy clouds.
'Beautiful' thought Valerie. In her past life, her favorite flowers were white hydrangea flowers for the fact that they looked like clouds.
When Father's car stopped right in front of the mansion, a servant opened the car door for him and he stepped out.
He then gets Valerie from her car seat and carries her inside the mansion, servants bowing as he walks in. Father was calm and collected, while she was astonished.
Inside, there was a massive staircase that had designs on the hand railing, which were gold plated. There was tons of plant life all around the house which ranged from different species of vines, to trees and flowers.
It was a flower paradise.
In one room, there was a large library, even larger than the library Valerie had when she lived with mother. In another room, there was a humongous kitchen, filled with many chefs from around the world. Those were only 2 of the many rooms that this mansion contained.
She then heard a scream "DADDY". A little boy runs down the stairs, with an excited look on his face. He then stops and says " Daddy, who that little girl in your arms?"
"Well, Rowan, this is your new baby sister, Valerie", Father then picks up Rowan as well. 'Do you like her?"
"Hmmm.. I dont know" Rowan has a neutral expression on his face. " She's cute at least" Rowan said timidly.
"Yeah Rowan, she is cute", Father looks at Valerie with affectionate eyes.
*Click Clack Click Clack*
"Oh hi there Malcolm, I see your back" The woman elegantly walks towards Father, with loving eyes. "Rowan, come to mommy" The woman says in a gentle voice. Rowan than jumps out of Father's arms and runs to her.
'Huh, so I presume that this is the "Wife" Mother talked about' Valerie looked at her observantly:
This woman had light blonde hair and thick lashes that were blonde as well. Her skin was a sickly pale color, as if she was a ghost. Her eyes were crystal blue and her lips were light pink. She had a heart shape face that was most desired. She had no visible pores on her skin and body hair. She was wearing an airy,light blue dress that had a floral pattern from the waist down. It was accompanied by a white bow tied around her waist. She had an hourglass figure that any women, even supermodels, would die for. She all in all, was the ideal-looking wife.
'I don't understand why father needs a mistress when he has a beautiful wife.' Valerie got even more confused on why he had s#x with another woman.
" Oh hi Marilee". Father looks at her with an indifferent expression, almost as if she was just an acquaintance. Marilee smiles and moves her gaze to Valerie.
Valerie expected that Marilee would look down on her, or look with a disgusted expression, but that was not the case. When Marilee looked at Valerie, she smiled and looked at her with a soft gaze. She showed no resentment or superiority towards Valerie.
'Oh what cute little girl' thought Marilee. Marilee had the sudden urge to hold Valerie like she would if she was her daughter. She wants to get close to Valerie, but she didn't know why.
" Malcolm, may i hold Valerie", Marilee sticks out her arms, awaiting for the child to go into her hands. "No, she's my daughter", Malcolm says in a stern voice. Marilee then puts her arms away and starts walking to the front door, her son holding her hand. She then turns around and waves at Valerie, until she finally walks outside, which then the door slammed shut.
