/ Queen of the World 10 Chapter 10: What's behind that door?
'Oh f*ck' Valerie looks at the room with a disgusted expression. 'God, out of the colors, why does it have to be pink'. Valerie wanted to leave the room as quickly as possible by squirming in her father's arms, but it didn't work.
The room itself, was way bigger than it needed to be. There was a big pile of stuffed animals, which were all pink, as well as a neatly arranged collection of jewelry which, cost all together, more than a fortune. There was a pink cradle and a whole closet full of pink outfits.
Father looks at Valerie lovingly and asks " Do you like it princess?". Valerie looks at Father and says "ba...wa....NAI". "So I'm guessing that's a yes, princess?" Father starts squeezing her plump cheeks. 'How am I going to live now.' Valerie rolls her eyes and looks in another direction, away from pink room.
She looks down the hallway and sees a picture at the end. It was a family portrait containing people she did not know. They all looked similar, with their blonde hair and white clothes, but despite their bright appearance, they were not smiling.They all looked...scary....in some ways.
Valerie starts squinting her eyes, as the picture was sort of blurry, and she sees a little bright figure, the only little boy who was smiling in that picture. She didn't want to think too much of it so she turned her head.
At the other end of the hall, Valerie saw another picture, a picture of a single woman. The background was a plain gray background, with a chair, which the woman was sitting on. She had light brown hair and pale colored skin. She had a soft expression on her face. She was an average looking woman, nothing special.
If Valerie squinted, she could see a tiny mole on the woman's face, right below her eye. That one mole gave the woman a more.... cold look. 'Hmm, i wonder who that woman is?' Valerie was very curious about the two pictures.
Who was the family in the picture?
Who was that woman?
"Well my little princess, I have to go, you can play in your room" Father puts her on the pink carpet in the room and walks out. He leaves a little bit of the door open, for whatever reason.
Valerie looks around trying to see if there was any way to escape this horrendous pink room of hers. She looks at the door and sees that it was still open, so she decides to crawl out of the room.
She was now in the hallway. Valerie wanted to explore more of this house, just to get a layout of where everything is. Valerie starts crawling over to the room that was to the right of her room. She pushes on the door 'Sh*t, its closed. I cant even reach the damn doorknob.' She starts looking around the hallway, to see if there was any doors that were open. Right at the very end of the hall, was an open door. Valerie slowly crawls towards it, anticipating the moment she could open the door and see what was on the other side.
She finally reached the door, and by that time, she was very tired, since she was only about 5-ish months old. She looks around to see if there was anyone that was going to try to stop her from opening the door, but she luckily saw no one, so she pushes the door with the very little strength she had left.
