If asked what the most improbable thing in this world was, this was what I would say.

–that was, my uncle having been killed.

My uncle was, to be blunt, a villain.

Utilizing the fact that he was a royal prince, he did many bad things, and it seems that recently, his crimes were not only limited to this country, as those of the other races were involved as well. 

The reason I said that that seemed to be the case, was because I didn't receive any information on my end, but it seems that my uncle was skillfully concealing it, and my father was lending a hand as well.

Truly, this matter was beyond salvaging. 

Someone of royal lineage committed crimes, and the king was was supposed to admonish him was concealing it. 

This was also probably why the king found faults with organizations in charge of public order and shut them down.

He entrapped others without batting an eyelid, and squeezed them for all their worth. 

I was hesitant to speak out with my social standing as that of an adopted child, and there was no one in this country who could stop them.

It was a matter of course for my father who was the king, but my uncle was being protected even more tightly.

That's why, I didn't think that there would be someone who could penetrate their defenses and assassinate my uncle.

「…I'm sorry, can you repeat that?」

「Y, yes. It seems that His Highness the royal prince had been assassinated by someone.」

I had the castle's most well-informed maid investigate the reason why it had been so noisy all morning, and it seems that it was because my uncle had died.

The most improbable thing in this world had come to pass.

The reason why I had been welcomed into the royal family was, because of my occupation as a『Guardian』.

Even without the help of my barriers, I knew that my uncle's subordinates were extremely strong.

They had been killed, furthermore, with the barrier still intact.

In other words, the assassin  slipped past the barriers and killed my uncle and the others.

Even in this world, there were only a handful of people who could do such a thing.

「Risama??」

An assassination skill that bypassed barriers.

I knew someone who had such otherworldly skills.

And, that person had been ordered by my father to assassinate my uncle just a few days ago.

Speaking of appearances, he was a young man who came from another world and was about the same age as me

He was a human who buried the monsters from the lowest floor of the dungeon in an instant, had strength comparable to the demons even though he was a human, and was most likely this world's strongest assassin.

And, Kurou-sama who was with that human.

Realizing that, I broke into a run.

Behind me, the maid had raised her voice, but not paying it any mind, I ran down the hallway.

I did not know why I was so uneasy.

However, for some reason, I felt that I had to go see Kurou-sama.

I felt that something had definitely changed after yesterday.
