My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's Chapter 160

Happy Wednesday!

Here's the chapter, enjoy.

I woke up when the sun had reached its zenith.

I woke up to the sound of extreme anger, which did not match the splendid scenery of the City of Water, Uruk, that was one of a kind even in this world.

Ever since coming back from the Continent Dungeon, I had always been able to control the deepness of my sleep, but after hearing Amelia's words last night, I gained peace of mind and fell sound asleep.

I hadn't woken up feeling so refreshed since I had collapsed after my magic power was exhausted, and when I had been forced to sleep by Amelia.

In other words, for the me right now, it seems that Amelia's words had become as strong as her magic.

I languidly got out of bed, and yawned.

I stretched, and my body felt oddly invigorated.

When I looked outside, the sun was high up in the sky.

I came back at daybreak and it seems that I slept until almost noon.

「…! !…!」

「…!」

Thanks to the excellent soundproofing, I was unable to catch the contents of the conversation, but it seems that Ria came here to see someone, and because Amelia stopped her, she raised her voice, which was unusual for her.

I could hear Kurou's voice as well, so Ria most likely had business with me.

Thinking up until there, I remembered that the beastman that I killed last night was, more or less, someone of royal lineage.

Ria should already know about it.

All of a sudden, I felt a chill run down my spine.

「What happened.」

When I opened the bedroom door and asked this, their conversation came to a halt and Amelia rushed over to me.

「Akira, is it alright for you to get up?」

「Aah. Since I was able to sleep deeply for the first time in a while, I feel refreshed.」

I felt apologetic that I worried her when she showed a relieved look on her face, and then I approached Ria.

It seems that she was oddly agitated by something.

「Akirsama, I apologize for visiting so suddenly. There's something that I wanted to confirm.」

Eight or nine times out of ten, it was about Gram.

「So there's no mistake that the one who assassinated my uncle, the Guildmaster Gram, was Akirsama.」

Although she asked this, it seems that there was no doubt in Ria's mind that it was me.

She said it as if she was stating a fact.

There was no point in hiding it, so I nodded.

「Aah. Certainly, I had assassinated Gram and his subordinates last night. …however, don't misunderstand. It was not because of the request from your father. I don't know if your father had prepared any remuneration, but tell him that I don't need it.」

After all, I did it because of the request from Kurou.

I wanted to make that point clear.

Not knowing anything, Ria tilted her head in confusion.

She probably didn't hear anything from Kurou.

I glanced at Kurou, asking him if it was alright to tell her.

Putting aside the way he expressed himself, Kurou loved Ria.

Not telling Ria about Gram, perhaps Kurou had a reason for this.

Contrary to my expectations, Kurou gave a slight nod.

I sighed and answered Ria's question.

「The one who requested me to assassinate Gram was Kurou. He had done so earlier than your father, so he took precedence. I too wished to kill Gram.」

Ria grew increasingly more confused.

Ria's gaze first turned towards Kurou.

「The fellow beastman who killed my younger sister. That was Gram.」

Kurou said this, with the look on his face which was somehow different than that of yesterday's, as if he was refreshed

Ria seems to have just guessed it.

She immediately turned pale.

「The 'young man' from that time was Akirsama, and your target for revenge was my uncle…is that what it was!?」

Unlike when she was relatively composed just now, Ria drew closer to Kurou.

Kurou's expression did not change, but I knew that he was not in a good mood.

「…then, having realized your revenge, even if it was through Akirsama, what will Kurou-sama do!?」

Her voice was full of sorrow.

Next to me, Amelia frowned.

To Amelia, Ria was someone who she considered as a younger sister.

That's why, she had become sensitive to her distress.

「…right now, I will do what I had promised Akira. After that…I don't know.」

What Kurou had lived for up until now–his reason for living–was to get vengeance for his younger sister.

In other words, the death of Gram.

What will happen to Kurou who had accomplished that…it was not hard to guess.

Hearing Kurou's reply, Ria hung her head.

「Did, Akirsama know that this would happen?」

I honestly shook my head.

Even for me, Gram was Commander Saran's enemy, and it was not something that I had determined, but I understood that even if he died, he was a fine villain.

I'm not particularly, judging people, thinking that I'm a god, but even so, with Gram's death, many people would be able to move on.

That's why, I went along with my emotions and killed Gram.

I killed Gram's suordinates because, I knew that they could no longer think for themselves because of the drug.

After hanging her head down for some time, Ria raised her head as if she had decided on something.

「I will follow Akirsama…no, Kurou-sama!!」
