My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's Chapter 154

「Please let me be your disciple!」

「I refuse.」

His eyes that were staring at me widened, like a dog who had a snack in front of him. 

It was like I could see his tail wagging vigorously. 

How did it turn out like this?

I looked up at the ceiling.

Raul was still prostrating, but this time, he was doing so to be accepted as my disciple.

「Why!」

「I won't take on a disciple, and I don't have the ability to do so. On top of that, I don't know anything about you.」

One thing after another, Kelia joined in as well and started to talk about Raul.

What's with these guys.

Amelia too, don't laugh, help me stop them.

And, the trembling Yoru who was on my shoulder, you better remember this when we get back.

After Raul postrated, the adventurers who badmouthed Amelia as well, who seemed to be listening in to our conversation, rushed out of the guild in a panic, and then we sat in the open seats. 

There was no reason to stay here as we didn't have any business to deal with here, and considering the trouble that would ensue if we encountered Gram, I wanted to leave, but before I could do that, the somewhat shady Mamoru obstructed us, and perhaps it was because of Raul, Kelia, and the narrow-eyed one, as we received the reception of the Adventurer Guild staff members that was filled with apologies. 

TN: starting from chapter 151, the author had changed the vice-guildmaster's name from Mamoru to Makoto.  For now, I will stick with Mamoru as this is the name that he introduced himself with.

Along with that, they told us stories about Raul and the others. 

I thought that the two people were in love with each other, but it seems that they were just childhood friends. 

「Raul-kun and I have been friends since we were born. I am like this and my legs are bad, so Raul-kun takes care of me. Incidentally, he is a worrywart, so when he's not busy, he'll be in the Adventurer Guild.」

「Baa!? It's not because of you! I'm free, so I'm just doing my duty as a silver-ranked adventurer!」

「Yes, yes, you say that and then you help me stop the drunk adventurers from fighting, and the adventurers who badmouth me are no longer in this city before I knew it.」

「It just so happened to turn out like that! It just so happened….」

In spite of the fact that they were just warned by the vice-guildmaster, the two people started quarreling again.

They got along well.

If they got along so well, I don't think my misunderstanding was a misunderstanding.

There's someone here who was much more of a tsundere than Kurou. 

It seems that Kelia was born with a disability in her legs, and after her parents passed away early on, Raul had always been by her side.

This might be prejudiced, but I didn't think that Raull could take care of someone.

Rather, I thought that he was the one that would be taken care of. 

People couldn't be judged by their outward appearance or their personalities.

「Raul-kun's cooking is better than that of the chefs' around here, and can do all the housework. It's unexpected, isn't it?」

Amelia nodded at Kelia who was boasting as if she was talking about herself. 

「It's unexpected. Truly unexpected.」

「Don't keep saying that.」

Raul bared his teeth and groaned.

Kelia's face turned ghastly pale, at the tone he used towards Amelia who was royalty. 

I think he mentioned this, but it seems that in Raul's mind, I was the strongest, then came the gold-ranked adventurers, then after that were himself and silver-ranked adventurers, and at the bottom was everybody else, including Amelia. 

I don't know if Raul was respectful or not.

In other words, perhaps it was because Amelia didn't look like she could fight, but it seems that he thought that she was weak.

I thought that Amelia was much stronger than I was though.

She's probably the only person whose MP surpassed that of the demons', and she'd lived longer.

As for me, I came from a peaceful place, and even though I'm an assassin, I hadn't done anything related to that.

If I had to name something, then I've only exterminated a large amount of monsters. 

Even then, I stayed in bed for several days after that. 

Maa, but it should be fine if Amelia didn't mind Raul's tone. 

「What is your specialty?」

「Let's see, stewed General Boar meat and potatoes. There are things like carrots in it too though.」

When I asked that, Raul answered while scratching his cheek as if he was shy.

It was like he was a completely different person from when he was talking to Amelia.

Or rather, wasn't that something like nikujaga. 

TN: nikujaga is a stewed meat and potato dish and is one of the more well-known Japanese dishes. A lot of families have their own variations of it, according to their family's tastes. For example, if someone liked carrots, they could put them in, if not, it would be omitted.

In my house, in addition to carrots, we put konjac, burdock, and taro in our stewed meat and potatoes. 

The General Boar was, a monster similar to a wild boar that mid-leveled adventurers could calmly defeat. 

It was a monster that was the personification of recklessness, and it directly charged at people if it sensed them, so its movements were easy to read and it's easy to defeat.

Its meat tasted similar to beef, and it was delicious even if you roasted it.

Incidentally, there were normal boars that were one size smaller than the General Boar, but although it could not be eaten, it had thick fur, so if you sold its fur, you could earn money.

「Well, how is it? If you take Raul-kun as a disciple now, you could live in my house as well!」

「As expected, you're in cahoots, aren't you.」

I thought that they had changed the subject, but they didn't give up.

The bright yellow-haired one and the red-haired one was trembling in anticipation. 

「Unfortunately, we have someplace to need to go to. Sorry, but we can't stay here.」

「Someplace you need to get to? Where is Akirsama heading to?」

It was normal for adventurers to take up residence in one or two cities, and earn money at the Adventurer Guild located in those cities.

No matter which Adventurer Guild, they all wanted high-ranked adventurers and strong adventurers, and they try to have them take up residence in their city.

Having strong people around meant that they would have peace of mind, and even if something did happen, they could deal with it immediately.

However, I was not a normal adventurer, and I only registered with the Adventurer Guild because it was necessary in order to get into the Brute Dungeon.

Besides, I have only one home. 

It's the home where kaasan and Yui are in, and I have no intentions of having a place I called "home" here in this world.

I had told Amelia and Yoru about my thoughts on this as well, and the two understood. 

「If I told you, you would definitely think I was kidding. That's just the kind of place it is.」

I responded with this, as if glossing it over.

There were probably people in this Adventurer Guild who wished for the war between the humans and beastmen, and on top of that, we couldn't just talk about going to the demon territory. 

Maa, even if I told them directly, would there be anyone who believed me.

Certainly, I was summoned through the hero summoning, but I wasn't the hero, and I currently had no intentions of killing the demon king.

That was something that, they who I've just met today—moreover the other party was an idiot who had an unspeakable imagination—would not be able to understand.

「A place that we would think you're kidding if you mentioned it? …Kelia, do you know?」

「I have no clue.」

It had become a riddle. 

I drained the tea that I was served and stood up.

「Let's go meet up with those guys. Raul, Kelia, thanks for taking care of us.」

They were probably leisurely passing the time, but we need to look for Kurou and Ria.

Both Raul and Kelia looked reluctant, but as soon as I told them we would still be in this city, their faces brightened.

Before, it was only Raul who I thought was like a dog, but Kelia had the same look on her face as Raul.

「The tea, was delicious.」

Amelia stood up as well, and moved to leave.

「Can you please wait a moment?」

Just as I was about to place my hand on the door, a voice coming from the inside stopped us.

It was a voice that I've never heard before.

It was not the voice of one of the surrounding staff members, and was not Mamoru's voice either.

We all turned to look behind us, and there stood a plump man. 

There was no indication that he entered from this door, so most likely, he came from behind us.

Which meant that he was someone affiliated with the guild. 

….but, he gave off an ominous presence. 

Besides, the surrounding staff members turned pale.

Without even trying to hide it, this man's eyes roamed over Amelia, as if licking her from top to bottom.

「You are Amelia Rose Quartz-sama, are you not? I am the guildmaster of Uruk's Adventurer Guild, Gram Cluster. Won't you come to my office, as I have something that I would like to discuss with you.」

When I saw that suggestive smile on that face of his, I unconsciously frowned.
