Jiang He felt a pang inside.

Less than fifty?

He was not even twenty-six!

“I heard you have obtained the Yuan Killer Sword and are hence tied karmically with Nether River?”

“He is so unreasonable!”

Jiang He was angered once he was reminded of the matter and said, “To think that I had planned to return the sword to him once I reach Demi-Saint, out of respect toward him as a senior. Even so, that scoundrel did not accept my grace, and even tried to kill me! What a b*stard!”

“Should I warn him off for you?” The Primeval Lord of Heaven smiled at his words.

“There's no need for that!”

Jiang He waved him off and said confidently, “I will not spare Nether River if he still acts relentless.”

After more small talk, the Immortal Hermit of the South Pole returned, carrying a pot of tea.

He served both the Primeval Lord of Heaven and Jiang He tea before smiling as he stood in a corner.

Inwardly, however, he was beside himself in shock.

“My master does not even care about the two lesser Saints of the Western Sect, but is somehow so casual toward Jiang He, even vaguely showing the intent of building ties. Does he really think that Jiang He could become a Saint?”

“There were untold prodigies and talents across the ages billed as potential Saints, but my master had never once treated a kid so well… he even seems a little dimwitted and appears to have no chance of becoming a Saint!”
