The Rise of Annixon Bright 10 Anastacia's Father

Within minutes there was a full detachment escorting them to the mansion in the middle of the city. Anastacia kept hiding her face due to how dirty she was. A noble lady that looked like she bathed in mud, which wasn't far off, would be the biggest embarrassment of her life.

Annixon was staring all over the place. He couldn't care less what people thought of him. It felt similar to his days in training, where they were forced to crawl through mud. He would prefer to have a proper shower…or bath gave the age.

After about twenty minutes of being escorted through the city, they finally arrived at a rather well-kept establishment. Seven ladies were waiting at the gate for their arrival. The one in front spoke up, "My lady, we received word that you will be coming. I must admit, I would not be able to stand the shame of being so dirty."

Annixon smiled at spoke up in Anastacia's behest, "Ah, but that is a sign of character, my lady. You would never be able to understand due to the fact that you have never experienced a single day of hardship."

The lady's face made a curious emotion of both hate and shock, "Well I never!"

"Yeah, yeah, spare me. You probably don't even know how it feels to go hungry. It quite…exhilarating."

One of the other ladies spoke into her ear and the lead lady spoke up again, "If you wish to see the lord you will need to look the part. This way please."

She pointed two to the three on the left, "You three, please see to this…this Neanderthal."

Annixon laughed, "Ooo, it seems that this barbaric being isn't capable of cognitive and dignified responses. Speaking to a lady that is undignified herself. We are resorting to…name calling now?"

"Why should I treat you with dignity?"

Annixon smiled, "Because I single handily threw an entire elven barracks in disarray. Then I traveled while being pursued by said elven and protected the lady and brought her back safe and sound without a single scratch. Could you say the same, milady?"

She was quiet after that response. He respectfully nodded and followed the three other ladies, who were quiet the entire time.

They took him to a bathhouse outside of the main premises. Anastacia was taken to the main house.

Annixon was severely uncomfortable with the fact that the ladies were watching over him. He actually had to insist that he wanted to bath himself. After two hours in the bath and another to put on the necessary clothes was he ready. He missed his military clothes. These new clothes were itchy and uncomfortable. The first chance he gets he is going to get something more practical. They wanted to shave him but he vigorously refused. They forced him to at least tie his hair. He didn't really have a problem with that.

Annixon finally stood face to face with Anastacia's father. With Anastacia looking radiant standing next to her father, It made Annixon choke a bit, "Well shit. I could see through the dirt that you had a cute face, but I must say I am quite taken aback."

She was short, about 1.4m(about 4.5 feet. She had red flowing hair and green eyes, with an unusual innocent pure looking face. Annixon wasn't even sure he was looking at the same girl. He thought the girl had dark hair to begin with. She was wearing an azure blue dress, that had sleeves that were way too long to be practical.

The father, on the other hand, had a clean tied red beard. He had blue eyes and a bit of a paunch. He also looked like someone who didn't laugh all that much. He wore some traditional red noble attire. He was sitting behind a table looking directly at Annixon as if he was judging him.

"I am her father and standing right here. I am Lord Louis van der Hart."

Annixon decided to go the path of nobility, "My apologies my lord. I was just captivated by a pristine beauty I am not accustomed to. Shall we proceed?"

"My daughter said you are a military man."

"Yes, in my country I served as a First lieutenant. I do not know how it would compare to your social hierarchy. "

The raised an eyebrow in bemusement, "A lieutenant you say? My daughter says you single-handedly saved her from the elves."

Annixon smiled devilishly, "I know the mark on her head was 1000 Dashuns."

"What are you implying?"

"I will cut to the chase. I think the reason you never got her out was due to the rather large amount on her head. Financial constraints are rather rough these days after all."

This was obviously a lie. Annixon knew 1000 Dushans would have been a poultry sum for him but he needed to get on his good side.

"I request 250 dashuns as my prize, but I do not need it now. Say I collect it in three days' time, my lord. I do wish to have the services of a viable alchemist in the meantime. What say you, my lord?"

"250 Dashuns for my daughter's life is reasonable enough. My daughter requested as much. That is the only reason I am going to go through with it."

"Thank you, my lord. You are as humble as yo9u are gracious."

He made a nod for both Louis and Anastacia, "I will take my leave then."

When Annixon left Louis spoke up, "I do not like that man."

"Father you made a promise. I will marry the son of Duke Hathorton and all you have to pay is a measly 250 dashuns. Surely that is within your power."

"Girl, I do not need your permission when it comes to whomever you marry. My word is the law, but he did bring you home, and as such I will keep my promise."

"Thank you, father."

"Now leave, I have to see to my duties."

She curtsied and left the room, grumbling under her breath.
