"OMG! Catherine, what is that----a blob?" he motioned his head towards the cake on the platter.

"That's the ugliest chocolate cake I'd ever seen in my whole life!" he bursts out laughing.

Catherine doesn't know if she has to laugh or to cry with his blatant criticism of her masterpiece. She can't help it, her eyes watered right away, meaning she was hurt and offended by his negative remarks.

John saw the hurt in her eyes.

He walked towards her, hugged her and smiled. "Hey, am just kidding, cheer up! They say don't judge the book by its cover, so let's start eating it. I will have a taste first..."

John took a small slice of the cake using the spoon he was holding and brought the chocolate cake to his mouth.

He paused for a moment savoring the moist chocolate cake melting deliciously inside his mouth.

"Wow! It tastes really good Catherine! Come on, have a taste!" he exclaimed.

She examined his face if he was still joking or not.

John took another spoonful of the moist chocolate cake and brought it to Catherine's mouth instead.

When the chocolate cake melted in her mouth, her face broke into a wide smile of satisfaction.

"It's delicious indeed!" she has to admit to herself it tastes really good. That's it, the luscious taste makes up for the not so pleasing appearance of the cake.

John placed two plates between them and put a slice of cake on each plate, they began eating in silence.

While they were eating, he kept glancing at her lovely face. She looks beautiful in her dress. He was falling more in love with Catherine every fucking single day!

"What are you looking at?" she asked.

His face turned serious.

"Marry me, Catherine. You can bake any cake you want every day. You don't have to work anymore. I wanna grow old with you. Let me take care of you for the rest of our lives," he said.

Catherine continues chewing on her cake, her mind was slowly digesting his proposal.

"I will think about it, John," she said without looking at his face.

John sighed upon hearing her lackluster reception of his proposal. It's the second or third time he proposed to her and yet she was still undecided. Maybe, she doesn't have any special feelings for him yet. Maybe for her...what they have is just pure sexual attraction only.

They become silent for a while.

After done eating, Catherine stood up and washed their plates in the sink. She was soaping the plates when he felt John behind her. John peered into her eyes, looking for the truth in her words. Every time she responded I love you to him, he always felt profound happiness bursting rapidly throughout his entire being.

"Marry me Catherine, pleaseeeee...." He begged with all his heart.

Catherine watched the display of emotion on his face, the emotions that catch her attention were that of honesty, love, devotion, loyalty, and desire.

"Yesss, I will marry you John!" she said without even blinking.

His heart skips a beat.

"You don't have to beg anymore, silly guy!" she said while caressing his cheek with her fingers.

She smiled at him sweetly, feelings of love glowed in her eyes. It's the first time she took off the veil that covers her heart.

John couldn't believe what he just heard from her? Is this really true? She's not lying---- isn't it? When she said yes, he couldn't believe at first! It sounds so magical, his heart was bursting with happiness right now.

"Y-you will really...m-marry me?" he still can't believe it, he wants to hear it again!

"I said I will marry you!" she shouted at the top of her lungs, her merry voice echoed inside the four corners of his room.

He grinned from ear to ear as if he won the coveted trip to the moon.

"Lol, calm down it's okay now. I believe you now," he embraced her. A tear fell from his eyes, he wipes it away quickly. He didn't expect this happiest day of his life would come early. He wasn't prepared for it mentally and emotionally.

He was afraid she will change her mind right away...so the need for a civil wedding which is quick and easy is necessary to lock her up just in case she will change her mind.

"Catherine within this month, we will have a civil wedding ceremony, then after six months, I will marry you in any church of your choice. Okay?" he said excitedly.

"Yes. I agree to all," she said beaming, his happiness rubbed on her. She had never seen him so genuinely happy before.

John examined her eyes thoroughly. Although he is very happy that she finally decided to marry him, still there is a tiny seed of doubt growing in his mind...

Is she serious?

"Catherine, we will go to the Civil Registrar Office within this week to apply for a marriage license, Okay?" he keeps pressing on for her to commit.

Catherine nodded. "Yes."

"I will prepare a Letter Of Intent To Marry, you will just sign it, okay?"

She nodded her head again. "Yes."

"We will get wed by the Judge of the RTC Court since we are applying for a Civil Wedding, it's for the meantime, the church wedding will take place after a few months. Are you okay with everything?"

She looked in his eyes and smiled beautifully. "Yessss!"

He still can't believe she said yes to everything that he said.

John kissed her forehead and embrace her soft body tight.

So far so good!

All his plan for Catherine is finally coming to a completion, he feels like he was already celebrating.

Today he was very happy because the woman he loves finally agreed to marry him.

He can only see a clear road of happiness between him and Catherine ahead.
