The monster emitted a guttural roar that shook the surrounding water, its yellow eyes fixed hungrily on its prey. The wind blew before it lunged toward Delilah, saliva dripping from its jaws. Whatever distance was between them was covered in a flash.

"I am not an easy target." She sidestepped its frontal lunge as she took out her daggers.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

A few strikes landed on its sides, but it was like hitting a stone with eggs, utterly useless. Its massive head was adorned with horns and spikes, and its body was covered in spikes. Her attacks only left a few scratches on its scales, concluding that her efforts were in vain.

It shifted position in one swift movement. Her feet hadn't touched the ground when its mouth came terrifyingly close to her. But then it stopped as if grabbed by formless and invisible hands.

"Did you ask for my permission?" A cold voice came from behind.

Delilah breathed a sigh of relief. Her lord has finally decided to intervene. Thankfully, he hadn't overestimated her, or she would have been its meal for today.

Roy's heartless stare landed on the back of the monster, and it felt chills creeping up its spine. His aura pressure was so strong that it left a level 20 monster unable to twitch its tail.

It couldn't move, but it was not completely helpless. It could still access its mana. Its eyes shone menacingly as it tried to use magic to escape this predicament or maybe even turn the tables around.

Roy seemed to see through it. Before the monster could realize its plan, his aura rushed into its body. Its energy core was crushed, and its mana pathways that had started to form were ground to dust.

The monster howled in pain as its hopes of reaching the aura stage diminished.

Soon after, the reality of the situation kicked in. It was immobilized and had no way of fighting back. In worse words, it was a fish freshly taken out of the water on the chopping board, waiting to be slaughtered.

Its eyes dilated and darted around. It didn't know what it was feeling, but it was called fear.

It was feeling fear for the first time, and its fear intensified as he stepped closer to it.
