The onlookers could see that Roy really valued her as he was extremely patient with her. He used the spoon to scoop the soup, cooled it down by blowing on it and fed it to her. "I am more than happy to."

Their relationship was deeper than strangers suddenly becoming husband and wife. She was his fated and hadn't approached him with ill intent. Not to mention, she was obedient to him. As a man, he could ask for nothing more than a gentle and caring wife who not only loved him but also respected him. He could see it in the way she behaved.

"Is this to your liking?"

One by one, Roy helped her try all the dishes. She was like a child that couldn't help but depend on her guardian. When Roy married her, he became her man. At the same time, he became responsible for her. It was his duty to guide her and help her when the situation demanded.

"I guess it's alright." She gave him a reply after throughly chewing and then swallowing what he had put in her mouth, "But I still prefer the soup over this."

The corn soup turned out to be her favorite.

While feeding his wife, Roy taught her how to use different utensils and told her that he wouldn't mind if she were to use her hands to eat.

'She is too well-behaved.'

"My mouth has watered at just the sight of them," Roy said to his maids and servant in a gentle and welcoming tone. He had been focused on feeding his wife, so he had no time to try them out himself. But by just their smell, he could tell that they were excellent. "Don't miss it; otherwise, you will be losing big time."

It was a common rule that servants didn't deserve to eat at the same table as their masters, but neither Damien nor Roy had any intention of enforcing this rule on their maids.

The former believed in the saying that all men were born equal, although he knew how hypocritical it sounded, while the latter was from modern earth where slavery was long abolished.

He didn't want his people to follow stupid rules, and he didn't want to limit them so that they won't feel constrained.

Julian also gestured for them to enjoy the meal. He was used to others looking down on him. He knew how bad that felt. Thus, He didn't want others to feel the same way.

The atmosphere was harmonious. No one was looking down on others. People from different walks of life and diverse statuses were sitting together and enjoying the scrumptious meal.

Roy was familiar with some of the dishes, but when he ate his favorite one, he couldn't even guess the ingredients it was made of.

It was completely different from the one found on Earth. Its texture was softer than rice, and it melted in his mouth like chocolate on a hot stove. It didn't burn his tongue; it only exploded his senses with various flavors and warmed his inside. The bits of meat filled him with energy, and the red sauce was juicy, acidic, and spicy, tingling his tongue, almost setting it on fire.

As he was a soul herder, everything he ate was automatically and instantly refined into energy, leaving behind no waste. It also meant that, unlike humans, he didn't need to go to the bathroom.
