This week was a disaster for me at work. A windows update last Thursday destroy everything in our system which cause all of our client all over the country to call. I thought it will go on for 1 week but thank god it calm down on weekend. So yeah, be careful of windows update. Updates are not always good so make sure to manually update instead of doing it automatically. That's it for my rant, enjoy this chapter!

Chapter 17
“Training, Alphabet for Dummies and the return to Basil”

We are in the library of the Hero Mansion. It is just a small room with around 6 small bookshelves. It makes me wonder, why not buy just 1 big bookshelf? Anyway, It was amazing, there are a lot of manga and light novels. I don't know how he was able to bring all of that to this world but we are grateful since we now have a source of entertainment. Needless to say, there are also proper books from this world but majority of it belongs to the former.

Since our goal this time is to look for something about this world or about the previous hero, we decided to ignore the manga and light novels for now and search every corner of the bookshelves.

“Hey! look at this!”

Henko called us while looking at a worn out green book. She showed the book to us and the title says… ‘Alphabet for Dummies'

“Alphabet for Dummies?”

“Yeah. If we study this, we will be able to read the signs and letters of this world”

I read the title as if not being sure if that's what really is. Henko answers without hesitation. That's true… If we know how to read this world's letter, we will be able to read the books of this world too. It will increase the range of our search.

“Alright, let's keep that book. Let's study it together”

Henko say that too me with a charming smile. Doki doki! My heart beats so fast. The word “let's study it together” echoes in my mind… but then…

“Let's do our best, this will give us the ability to read the books of this world too so it will be an important knowledge”

Geh! I forgot Jotaro's existence again. That's right, Henko was asking ALL of us to study it together. It's not just the two of us. orz. My hands fell to the ground while I am on my knees.

Jotaro ask me sincerely so I instinctively shout at him. After that, we continue on checking the books. There are a lot of books from this world but we don't understand any of it so we decided to focus on ‘Alphabet for Dummies' for now.

The next day, we proceed with training. During the break, we will study the Alphabet Book. The loli elf saw us doing that and unexpectedly answer any question that we have after giving a complaint. I really thought that she will ignore us but I'm grateful that she is teaching us. After a while….

“Huh?”

“What's wrong Henko?”

Jotaro asked Henko who is tilting her head. I was in front of them practicing my fire magic. My fireballs are still as small as ever but I can now shoot 10 consecutive fireballs without breaking a sweat. If I can make like a hundred or thousands of those small fireballs, being small won't matter anymore…. or at least that's what I think.

“Hm.. Isn't the letters here looks different? Is this different language?”

“You are right? I also don't understand the description. The past letters has Hiragana description at the bottom but these ones have different letters on it. Maybe we can ask Meliseum-sensei about it?”

Jotaro suggested, I don't have a reason to disagree so I followed them. When we showed the loli elf the letters, she frowned and spoke to us.

“I don't know what letters are they. This is the first time I see such letters”

I taught it might have something to do with the floating symbols that I see but the stroke are different when I compare them. They are somewhat similar in a way but I did not find a single letter in the book that may look identical to the symbols. And so, we are back to square one.

Since we don't have any idea on what those letters are, we ignore it and continue on studying the letters of this world. Evening, Vine-san arrived and teach us about the different countries and races of this world. We do so in the dining room after eating dinner. I was so tired of training that I did not pay much attention. Since Jotaro is here, I will leave all of those knowledge to him,. If time comes that we need to use this knowledge then I will have a reason to just leave everything to him.

I fall asleep during the lecture. After some time…

“-Keo-sama, Takeo-sama… please wake up”

“Hm?”

I rubbed my eyes and saw Vine-san waking me up.

“Oh? I fall asleep?”

“Yes, looks like you are tired. Please go and rest in your room. You will catch a cold if you sleep here”

“Okay. Thank You, Vine-san”

I go to my room and continue my sleep. This kind of peaceful days last for a week. Everyday we train, everyday we read and study, everyday we sleep, everyday we search the library for new information. I was able to improve the number of small fireballs that I have but no matter what I do, looks like my limit is 20 fireballs. I also tried to learn some healing magic but since my magic is so weak, all I can heal are scratches. It will take me a whole day just to heal a very small wound, as such we decided that me learning healing magic is useless. Henko on other hand can heal an injury very quickly. She also learned some reinforcement magic. It was crazy when we saw her destroy a huge boulder with her fist reinforced by magic. Jotaro just like always, learned almost everything that the loli elf teach him as if it was nothing.

After the week of peaceful days, while in the library searching on the books. Jotaro called us with a worried face.

“Everyone! Please take a look… I found what we are looking for but…”

“…but what?”

While walking into his position, I asked Jotaro since he did not finish his sentence. Henko arrived first and take a quick look on the book that Jotaro is holding. Upon looking at the book, her face frowns and you can that she is troubled. Wondering what it was, I also look at the book upon my arrival.

“This is…”

I also make a troubled expression. We finally found a clue about Altar of Creation however the book is only about the legends of the altar. That it is an altar that can grant wish or something that can only be accessed by heroes. Other than that, there are no information about its location or how to find it. It is written in a book compilation written by Lilo. The book contains different myths, legends and stories and the Altar of Creation is one of hem. Upon further checking, looks like the book is published by Basil Book Company. That's right… ‘Basil'. If we want to know more about the Altar of Creation, we need to speak with the Author, Lilo-san. To do that… we need to go back to Basil Kingdom. The country who summoned us into this world.
