Chapter 4: Mining Slaves

Yu Han was nervous, after he didn't know if it works. Since he could understand the words above Jack's head then maybe Jack could understand his words by the help of the system, even if he can't understand them.

Jack tilted its head and Yu Han didn't need a translator for him to interpret it. His method doesn't work and he had to know everything from the scratch. So he spent days trying to learn the basic language

Yu Han opened his eyes and he found out that the prison-like cage suddenly cracked and shattered like a glass and blinding light showered his eyes that he couldn't help but be stunned. Is it just an illusion?! Or did the space just motherfucking crack?!

Is it a space crack?!

He sweated profusely. He had seen the power of space cracks and almost died but why did it look like space cracks are common here?

He even notice that Jack trembled in fear, although he didn't know why but he still he decided to ask

"Blurb?"

He spoke awkwardly, copying the intonation of Jack's language, he asked 'What's the matter?'

Jack stared at him in astonishment, not because of Yu Han speaking awkwardly with their language but rather he was surprise that he didn't know the infamous pirate group in the whole 22nd Dimension!

Jack was rather unlucky to have offended someone from the noble family and find himself being targeted by Hades Pirate Group and was then captured. Although, he looked relax on the surface but he was damn scared witless!

Hades Pirate Group are infamous for being a slaves driver, even most major factions in this dimensions cannot put an end to all of this!

"Move! Get up!" A vicious voice sounded out and revealed a small dwarf. But his eyes shrank when he saw the level.

Dhark..

Level 20!

He knows what this mean, if he try to resist just one bit. The tiny-looking dwarf would kill him without a doubt. Although, he is reluctant; he stood up and dejectedly walk. Without any further a do, the small dwarf swiftly took out a device, a small syringe with black liquid, looking very ominous.

When Jack saw it, he thought; Finished! He's already finished!

The dwarf was indifferent to his reaction and without hesitation, he inject the syringe with the black liquid unto Jack's vein with fluid work. It was as if he had done it countless of times

His eyes dimmed as he pass out. Dhark, the dwarf, stared coldly at the unconscious Jack as he said to the henchman besides him.

"Carry him. He goes to the one mining the ores" He said when he glance at the list on his bracelets

The black liquid that was injected, was a vial that makes people strong and healthy but also highly addictive. Once injected, you can never get over with it unless your constitution allows you to be immune to any kind of foreign invaders, this vial would be very addictive to normal races like the race of Jack, which is a Eye Stone Abyss, a race which had strong bodies but low potential

Then they moved to the next person, which is basically Yu Han. The small dwarf quickly got another syringe, while it take a look at the next person and he was startled before gradually calm down, its not like he had seen a strange creature stranger than Yu Han, although he can't pinpoint what kind of race is he, but that is not his business.

Yu Han was calm even if he was caught in surprise, he kept his stern face while he was dragged by a huge, bulk of bodies. His emotionless face made anyone couldn't guess his thoughts just by looking at his face as his cold, stern azure eyes continue to stare intently to the small dwarf.

And then he saw a huge syringe, with black liquid on the container. The horror on the face of Jack was still vivid on his mind, although, he didn't know how scary the black liquid is, he still need to calm down but his stern and calm look infuriated the small dwarf

Dhark, the small dwarf love the look of despair when they saw the black liquid tht could degenerate their genes and turn their levels low but Yu Han's genetic level is already low but still the job has to be done, without any hesitation, Dhark even grinned when he started injecting the black fluid on his body but soon, his smile disappeared when he saw the indifferent look of Yu Han

Why would he be afraid of some needle?

This daddy will stab you a 12 inch needle!

Syringes were not strange to him. He had seen a lot back when he was young and arrogant, he even saw long needles that would make anyone faint upon glancing at it, so why should he be afraid of it?

Dhark's complexion darkened when he saw the calm look of Yu Han but then he coldly smiled. The black liquid not only decreased your level but also make someone addictive to it. He only needed to wait a while, before Yu Han turned crazy begging for more, this is how they control slaves and their life would be worse like hell

[ Harmful Substance detected, permission to eliminate, sir? ]

[ Yes ] [ No ]

Yu Han was puzzled by the sudden hologram floated in his eyes. It look like a system panel in virtual games, although, it seems impossible but it literally popped out from the depths of his brain!

"Not now."

Once again, he spoke his native language and none of them manage to understand what he said, until then, Dhark had finally finish injecting the black liquid and none were left behind. Dhark coldly look at Yu Han and saw that the level still is Level 1, slowly turning into Level 0 and he grinned.

"Take him to the mines and be a miner there throughout his life!" He laugh when he saw the list.

Dhark didn't notice the beam of light that flashed through Yu Han's eyes. It didn't show any addiction nor crazed light but rather calm and unperturbed.

"Take him away!"

Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank!

The sound of clanks throughout the dark cave. The light of the two moons couldn't penetrate the cave but strangely, balls of light floated abd illuminated the whole cave, revealing a heartbreaking scene.

Hundreds of strange alien creatures, with different races wore black clothes, they look like someone who had lost their soul and work like a machine, they each had a pickaxe on their hands as they tirelessly swing their arms to excavate the crystals that shone purple glow

Around on the corner, a guy with a perfect body was sitting, his stern azure eyes calmly assess the situation. His expression were in a daze as he spoke with a strange language

"I want to see my attribute panel"

Seeing his status bar, he sighed. Judging from his stats, even the weakest cosmic beast can kill him with ease, if you think about it, his level is zero; his strength is basically zero, if he encountered a level 1 cosmic beast, even if he tried to run away, with agility that is basically zero so if he tried to run away then even a Level 1 Cosmic Beast can easily catch up to him and kill him and he's crippled and the number of zeros in status really made him depressed

Many of his stats were zeros so he is handicapped and helpless which annoyed him but there's nothing that can be done except using his brain to survive since his body stats isn't reliable

He glance at panel and look at his skills and he sighed once more, except for digger and literate man, there are no other skill that he can use during in a fight, but still, it is useful during in normal times. But the good new is, at least, he won't be clueless for their language anymore and he won't ever had to talk awkwardly towards any of them

He spend a month in digging for minerals and mining crystals, his jet-black hair had grown longer, his cold and emotionless eyes had become even colder, he became even thinner to others but actually in the human race, he actually fit and healthy man. Everywhere he would go, he would be a head turner but so far, according to his deduction; humans were rarely seen in this place

But somewhat, he hoped that he could find someone who is the same race as he, a human so that he wouldn't be lonely but he knew that the probability is probably almost zero chances.

"Hey! Get up! You still have work to do!" A lightning whip hit his back, caught off guard, he dropped to the ground as electricity flickers in his back, even though, he can't see it but he knew that his back was scorched black by the lightning whip

Right, he forgot...

He was supposed to pretend to be soulless, after some time, living here, he finally noticed the effect of the black liquid was addictive, controlling the desire of a person to have more of it but the addictive black liquid is only available to the group who enslave them and not outside, so they could only follow their instruction to receive 'their happiness' the black liquid to continue their 'pleasure'

But not him, he seemed to have noticed that the addictive drug has no effect on him but he didn't know that the one who was responsible for it was the black mist that permeated in his body when he was unconscious

Plop!

Another whip landed a hit on his back again, he secretly grinded his teeth but still he looked emotionless outside so that no one would be able to see his real thought. He stood up as if nothing happened and pick up the pickaxe as if nothing happened and drag it and started to work

And... Oh... He forgot that just like the others, he is also a slave that mine minerals and crystals. But unlike others, he wanted to stay in place and be lazy...
