Chapter 1: Into the Wormhole!

Yu Han just watched his coffee turned cold as his stern, azure eyes stared at the window. He watched the traffic jam that is happening above him, he sighed as he took out a completely rare cigarette. He lit it up as smokes filled up the room.

600 years ago, mankind finally ran out of resources and had no choice but to study outer space and eventually, the seven continents decided to join forces and explore space to look for more resources

Ever since mankind discovered space, they spare no effort to research about it and their hard work were not futile, their efforts were not wasted. Around 500 years ago... They finally have broken a huge bottleneck that been keeping them in place and began to explore the galaxy with their own space technology.

Continuous breakthroughs about space often happened during at that time. Until, 400 years later...

During on a space exploration, they discovered a crystal on a planet, mankind took it back for further researches. Scientists discovered that the crystal could evolve a human! They named it Zheal Crystal and the planet where they discovered the Zheal Crystals were later named; Zheal Planet

They started to argue regarding about the distribution. The presidents between each continental states wanted to have big shares, they knew exactly the benefit of the Zheal Crystal to their continents and soon, the alliance of the seven continents began to fall out and later on, the seven continent became seven intergalactic empires and many neutral countries became neutral forces.

The discovery of the Zheal Crystals brought worldwide changes on mankind. The Zheal Crystals helps human evolve their DNA structure and gain one special ability once a person absorbed one hundred Zheal Crystal pieces but a stack of Zheal Crystals are expensive and not currently affordable to some well-off families.

Yu Han is currently a Battle Commander from a Special Force of Skyhawk Federation and came from an elite family, although he is not from the main family but he had become a person much more better than a lackey from the main family, he had become a Battle Commander from the Special Force that one of the Four Marshalls especially raised to protect the Empire!

BEEP! BEEP!

His train of thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of beeping on his wrist, a small holographic image reveal the caller and he almost dropped his rare cigarettes in shock.

"Why do you look so shock, Battle Commander Han?" A stern voice echoed on his ears

He twitch his lips as his stern and cold azure eyes stared at the lean figure on the screen who's wearing a military uniform with a golden eagle badge with three golden stars in bewilderment

He remained composed as he said "Marshall Mo!"

He immediately did a military salute in respect for the higher ranking officer. Marshall Mo, the one who is in charge  of the Special Force, he had interacted with the Marshall during meetings as he is basically a Battle Commander who's in charge of a whole unit. He's quite familiar on what kind of a person Marshall Mo is, he is strict and a traditional person, he is a someone with a strange fetish and are particularly strict with the soldiers.

Marshall Mo frowned when he saw the cigarette on his hand and the smoke filling up on Yu Han's room

"You're smoking?" He suddenly ask in displeasure, what he hates the most was someone violating the old rule!

Yu Han discovered that the Marshall staring at the cigarette in his hand as he immediately broke out a sweat as he hurriedly crushed it with his hands; his heart's bleeding as the cigarette these days was very rare and was more like an antique collection rather than using it, as tobacco these days were rather rare to find and almost no one smoke as A.I. and robots were widely spread out and human gradually forgotten the bad habits of smoking

But he didn't belong to that category, he loved to smoke, even as to go as far to purchase some cigarettes from the black market just to get it, which is illegal as he is a soldier and worse, a Battle Commander of Skyhawk Empire's Special Force!

"Battle Commander Han! This is your first and last warning about smoking, the next time I would caught you smoking again, I'll have someone to replace you, immediately!" Marshall Mo scorned

"Yes, Marshall!"

Yu Han could only nod gravely while his heart was already bleeding about how much of a hypocrite the 4th Marshall was!

To demote someone because he was caught smoking on sight, is called being unreasonable!

But he just kept a straight face even though, he's already cursing the Marshall in his mind but he didn't say it aloud, he doesn't want to die yet!

After the Marshall calmed down, he sent a file; "15th Battle Commander, Yu Han. I have a mission for you.."

Yu Han immediately got the file as he looked at it and caught the glimpse of it. It was to look for a missing person

"5 months ago, 10th Squadron's Battle Commander suddenly went missing when he went on a mission. I want you to look for his traces and immediately report it to me! The file contains the location where the Special Force's suddenly lost contact with him, if you have any question please ask.."

"There are none, sir" he answered.

"Good. Then do please, give me good news after you start. I hated it when someone disappoint me, and I don't want to see you smoking again!" Marshall Mo sternly said before he cut off the connection and the hologram disappeared.

Yu Han breath a sigh of relief before he dully glance at the crumpled cigarette before he took another cigarette from his pocket and light it up

"Who're you kidding? You're just scaring me.." he lightly muttered as without reservation, he stuff the tobacco on his mouth and started to smoke

He went and check the file again, and he found out that the person that he's going to find was his best friend, Su Mubai! He's also the 10th Squadron Battle Commander of the Special Force! His best friend is also a soldier prodigy and they went to the same military academy at the same time and age. They were hailed as geniuses back then and become soldiers.

They had experienced bloodshed together and went through life-and-death and their bonds became stronger than siblings, Su Mubai, is the Battle Commander of the 10th Squadron while he became the Battle Commander of the 15th Squadron.

Six months ago, Su Mubai told him that a Major General tasked him with a mission and will be away for a long while, while it is normal for an elite soldier to be out of the mission. It's impossible for him to contact his best friend at that time because he's also on a mission and can't be bothered checking out his best friend as he knew that he is on a mission so he gradually forgotten about it

If it wasn't for the abrupt mission that he had received, he would have still thought that his friend is still on a mission!

Although he was worried about Su Mubai, simply panicking won't change the fact that his friend went missing, so he immediately read the file for further information

Ten days later,  Yu Han immediately rode on a space ship alone, the space is a lonely place, it's dull and endless but it is also possess limitless potential. Technology has find a way to bend the space and could even go even further distances and it was soon applied on the military ships by researchers and for public transportation next.

He took his time to read the file again, afraid that he would forget a single thing. According to the file, his best friend Su Mubai went according to the route that he's taking and so far, he didn't notice something strange, the communication is still working.

He looked at the map once again and saw that he's only a few light years away when suddenly he heard the alarm set off by the A.I. as his eyes filled with red flashes

He suddenly had the urge to curse loudly at his bad luck. Of all the three things that he doesn't want to encounter, it just had to be a wormhole!

Once someone enters the wormhole, it would take the person to an unknown coordinates and then the wormhole disappear, one could easily get lost and it may be on the other side of the Galaxy or maybe it could make the person cross another galaxy, the more distance a wormhole could cover, the more unstable it is.

Even a person inside the strongest space ship may unable to survive an unstable wormhole, they might get torn apart by the time and space!

"Give me the coordinates of the wormhole!" He hurriedly said

He can feel his mind going blank, as this is the first time that his A.I. failed him. What did the A.I. mean?

The A.I. failed to measure the coordinates? Such an easy thing was definitely piece of cake for an Intelligent A.I. could! Unless....

"A.I. what do you mean?!" He anxiously ask, he already had a bad feeling about this..

⟨We are currently inside a wormhole⟩

"Motherfucker...! Why did you tell me now?!" Yu Han was exasperated.

⟨Sorry. I didn't know until we entered the wormhole⟩

FUCK YOU!

Although the A.I. apologize but the cold, emotionless, robotic voice made his head hurt. How did he end up having a useless A.I.?

⟨The wormhole suddenly appeared, the wormhole exceeded my calculations⟩

Yu Han didn't know whether he should laugh or cry! He didn't expect that his A.I. would malfunctioned at a time like this!

Unknown to his knowledge, he had entered a wormhole without him knowing!

"Activate all the beam shield!" He had already calmed down as he started to think about how to avoid and for how to escape the wormhole immediately!

⟨Affirmative.⟩

"Activate all speed booster! We need to escape from this wormhole immediately!" He said in a decisive manner

⟨We would lose 50% of our energy reservoir, would you like to proceed?⟩

"Proceed!" He said without hesitation. He would rather waste energy than to risk his life staying in the wormhole!

⟨Affirmative. Now commencing all speed booster in 3...2...1... Done!⟩

He could feel the speed began to go at lightning-speed! It's force alone has the ability to crush an elephant! But thankfully, the ship was installed with anti-knockback effect otherwise he would already been crashed to bits by the impact!

"Calculate the distance, please check to see if the wormhole is stable and contact the headquarters.." he said seriously as he said series chains of command on his A.I.

⟨Understood. Contacting the headquarters....⟩

It took over for half a minute for the call to connect. And then he saw the lean figure in a military suit, Yu Han immediately saluted

"Marshall Mo!"
