BREAKING OFF LIMITS 14 BE WELL GROUNDED

Your root determines your fruit. The deeper the foundation, the better the glory of the structure on it. Maize bears fruit within 3months after planting. You can even use your leg to pull it down and make the plant fall; its root is not solidly in the ground. But the Iroko tree takes a long time to develop. If you want to produce great fruit for God and for yourself, be deeply rooted.

Isaiah 37:31

And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

Fruits are upward, they are external and they are conspicuous. Everybody wants success because success is attractive; success is exciting. God wants you to succeed but God is more interested in your root because God knows when the root is taken care of, the fruits will be sustained. Fruits are external but what of the root? Roots go downward, roots are obscure and they are internal. What does this imply? When the root is going deep, it is as if nothing is happening. In your life also, don't be in a hurry to manifest. You don't need to impress anybody, impress God.

Time of preparation is not a wasted time. You should not be bothered because some of your colleagues who do not know a quarter of what you know are called Bishop, Primate, and Apostle in other churches. They are like rockets; when they are gone, you will still be around. Title does not bring food to your table. Calling you a Brother does not reduce your anointing; calling you a Bishop or Primate does not give you more anointing. Your real worth is not known by your title.

Beloved, how deep you are will determine how high you will grow. That is why you should be very interested in your depth. Your depth will define your height. That is the cause of the collapse of some structures in big cities. A man, out of greed, changes his structure all of a sudden because his friends are making more money without considering the strength of the foundation of his own building.

Foundation is important in your life so have a right foundation. That is why a teaching church is always a glorious church. It is easier to preach for few minutes but the devil is too wicked for a believer to handle the word of God with levity. The devil has one track mind; it is to kill all of us. But the more of God's word you know, the more it becomes difficult for the devil to have you.

In the few years I have spent, there have been times it would be as if I won't make it till the following day because I overworked myself. There have been times it looks as if I would die but I didn't die. Why? The word of God is rooted in me. Sometimes, it's as if I should not get up from the bed in the morning but by the time I confess God's word for a while, I regain my strength and I rejoice that a day has been added to my life again. Such things don't come out of confessing frivolously; it is by storing up the word of God in you. Have time for the word of God.

People often make the mistake of emphasizing the fact that Peter walked on water and sank; but have you walked on water before? What of other disciples who sat comfortably in the ship without making an attempt? Others did not have the same experience Peter had. Whatever you experience does not leave your memory quickly. Don't be afraid of failing. Failure is not fatal. What people call failure is getting to understand how not to do it another time.

Life has contradictions and storm comes to great and small but if you are built up in God, you can survive any attack. Have time for the word of God.

Proverbs 4:20

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Storm comes to all of us; whether you like it or not. Be a house built on a rock so that when the storm of life comes, you will not be overwhelmed by the flood of life.

Luke 6:46-49

46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

The two of them heard but only one of them was a doer of the word. If the end of the one that heard and doeth not is disastrous, what happens to the one that refuse to hear? Again let me ask, if two of them heard and Jesus said the one that heard and acted could not be destroyed, but the one that heard and doeth not was destroyed because he didn't act on the word, what will be the destiny of the one that refused to come to the church to hear? If you think God's word is not good for you, then God is not good to you. But assuredly, our God is good. You need to hear His word, take root and produce greatness.
