"No. Why do you ask?" Quentin did his best to avoid looking at Bri.

"Because you are only staring at it."

Quentin cleared his throat awkwardly before saying: "I am admiring it's beauty, and not sure from where to start."

"Oh…", Bri smiled brightly and poked with her fork some greens and a tentacle from Quentin's plate.

"Let me help. Start from here…", she hovered the food in front of his mouth.

Quentin's lips were never so tightly shut in his life. He swallowed hard as his sight fell on that tentacle.

Bri struggled to keep a straight face. She knows that he ordered this seafood salad only to score points with her, and she has no intention of making it easy for him.

"Are you refusing to take it because it's my fork?", she innocently asked.

She leaned closer and spoke softly close to his ear: "Last night you didn't mind saliva exchange. How is this different?"

Quentin looked at Bri and his eyes flashed at the realization that she is doing this on purpose! But even though he knows, what can he do about it? He really wants to be with his fiery Goddess. She is amazing, and last night she gave him the best kiss ever!

"I need to know how I can earn a re-do.", Quentin demanded.

Bri lifted her eyebrows, entertained to see that his ego hurts just like last night, if not more.

"I told you. You need to show your sincerity. As to how you can do it…?" She glanced at her fork which was still close to his mouth.

Quentin gritted his teeth for a second and then took the contents of her fork into his mouth, swallowing it directly without chewing.

"Good start.", Bri beamed and gestured with her eyes toward his plate.

Hunter and Mia are both working on their towers of food, and they are more than halfway in.

Mia noticed that he didn't touch scallops, and she finished hers.

"Are you going to have that?", her fork was pointing toward the scallops.

Hunter glanced at her and thought of telling this gluttonous woman to stick to her portion, but her eyes were sparkling (while looking at the food), and there was some grease on her chin… so he decided to be polite. "What will I get in return?"

Mia frowned slightly and looked at the food in front of her. What can she part with? She rotated the middle tier slightly and her sight fell on five oysters. She can part with few of those.

"How about these?", Mia pointed with her fork toward oysters.

Hunter liked her offerings and reached with a large spoon to transfer them to his plate.

"Three only!", Mia reminded him when she saw that he is going for the fourth one.

Hunter nodded in agreement and took his phone to check the notifications while Mia poked with her fork at the scallops in his food-tower.

Mia put one whole scallop in her mouth directly and then continued poking few more to transfer them to her plate.

She counted seven scallops and wondered, is her limit three also, or can she take more?

Mia went to the fourth scallop and heard Hunter make a sound of disapproval.

"I can take more, right? You took 60% of my oysters, so I should be able to take at least one more scallop…"

"That's not it. Take them all…", he grumbled while looking at his phone.

Mia swiftly poked all the scallops from Hunter and transferred them in front of her, to make sure he does not change his mind.

"Problems?", Mia asked when she saw that Hunter kept his phone away and his brows were still furrowed.

"I have an inline hockey match at three, and one of my mates can't make it. Now we are short a member and need to forfeit.", Hunter said dejectedly.

"I can help."

Mia's offer earned raised eyebrows from Hunter.

"How?"

"I am pretty good on inline skates, I can swing a stick and hit a puck."

Hunter narrowed his eyes at Mia. "Why would you help me?"

Mia snorted. "Look around. Bri is torturing Quentin and Liz is obliviously stuck between two guys. I would rather go anywhere than watch this for the rest of the day. The only problem is that I don't have the gear."

Hunter flashed a smile. "What is your shoe size?"

"Seven.", Mia said before putting another scallop in her mouth.

"Mmm…", she hummed in satisfaction. These things practically melt in the mouth.

Hunter glanced at her blissful expression for a second and then worked on his phone. He needs to make arrangements!

Two minutes later he turned to Mia. "Welcome to the team! We leave from here in half an hour… I will drop you back to Liz's place when we are done."

"Half an hour?" Mia looked at the remaining food and thought that she can finish it. No food should be wasted!

She turned to Hunter. "Sounds good."

Mia was startled when he reached with a napkin to wipe her chin and she swiftly took the napkin from his hand, rejecting the cleaning he provided.

"Thanks, but there is no need to tidy up before I'm done. If someone does not like the sight of me, they should look somewhere else."

Hunter stifled a laugh while thinking that this Mia person is… interesting.

Chris spent almost half an hour browsing the internet and gathering various information on Maximilian Anderson.

He found out that Max is the oldest son, the second child in the Anderson family who are founders of the 'Alpha group'. Chris can see that Nathaniel Anderson is the CEO of the 'Alpha group', and probably the largest shareholder... Nathaniel is Max's father… None of those is interesting. Or at least it is nothing that he can use.

Looking at the entertainment and gossip results, Chris found out that Maximilian Anderson is a party animal. He is well known as a Seattle's biggest playboy, there are thousands of photos of him with various women in suggestive positions, and even some blogs with a focus on how to get the ladies are using Max as an inspiration.

Chris thought that this is troublesome. Now he knows how Max is from a well to do family, and he is well versed in charming the ladies. But Elizabeth is not just any lady, she is special… Will she be interested in a womanizer?

"Liz knows about this.", Olivia's voice startled Chris.

"What?", he didn't understand her comment.

Chris was so engrossed into the information on his phone, and finding out more, that he missed the fact that Olivia is watching him.

Olivia pointed toward his phone. "What you are looking at. She knows about it."

"And she is OK with him like this?", Chris asked, unable to hide his disappointment mixed with an outrage.

Olivia was unsure how to answer. She pointed with her chin toward Liz and Max and said: "See for yourself."

Chris didn't need to look. He already saw numerous times today that Liz and Max are getting along well. Too well.

Chris sighed while thinking that if he wants Liz to notice him, it needs to be just the two of them. Work is not suitable for pursuing a lady, so it must be outside work. But how can he get close to Liz without Max interfering?

He scolded himself internally: 'Are you giving up? Find a way to show her that you are a better partner for her that Max stinking Anderson!'

Chris remembered how more than once he tried talking to Liz and Max cut him off. The light went above his head when he realized: he tried talking to Liz and failed. In a mission to get rid of Max, that is a wrong strategy. In order to expose Max, he should talk to him! Brilliant!
