6:35 AM

Liz is awake. She can see that it's early, but her internal clock is still on Seattle's time which makes it 9:35 AM and there is nothing she can do about it. Well, next morning will be Monday and she will need to wake up for work, so it's better if her internal clock does not move to Hawaii time.

Liz is holding onto Max and using him as a bolster pillow.

She glanced up at Max, to confirm: he is still sleeping.

What should she do? She does not want to go to the garden. She did that yesterday and it didn't end up well.

Liz thought how lazing in the bed for some time sounds like a good idea. It's nice, because she can cling onto Max and enjoy his warmth and scent leisurely.

She remembered the previous night. Max carried her all the way to their room, and she was sure that they will get all hot and steamy and maybe even go all the way, and she was surprised that none of that happened.

What Max and Liz did when they returned to their room? The two of them lounged on the lanai for some time while sipping sparkling water to wash away all those cocktails they drank at luau and discussed their plans for the next day, including the hike which Mia mentioned. They looked up the path online and saw that it's rated as 'medium-easy' with reviews mentioning amazing views and recommendation to bring binoculars. Both Liz and Max agreed how that sounds like a great way to spend morning in Hawaii.

After that, they got ready for the night and went to bed. Max asked Liz about the progress of her latest research paper and held her hand in his, with fingers interlaced and other than caressing her hair and giving her light kisses on her hand and forehead occasionally… that was it.

They slept off both wearing Max's t-shirts (and underwear).

Part of Liz is disappointed that nothing more than that happened, but she didn't dare ask for it… it's too embarrassing.

Liz wonders if this is part of Max's plan to make her fall for him: a game of cold and hot where he provided her with an afternoon full of carnal pleasures, and then an evening of romance, and then a night of… chatting and sleeping. Did he expect her to ask for it?

Liz's thoughts were interrupted when she felt that Max is stirring.

"Good morning.", she greeted Max as soon as his eyelids showed signs of opening.

"Good morning.", his husky voice greeted back. He moved lazily and pulled her closer to him.

Liz felt his morning erection on her thigh and looked up at him with a complex expression.

Max arched his handsome eyebrow questionably. "What?"

"Nothing." She lowered her head while avoiding his gaze. He looks sleepy, how did he notice her discomfort?

Max touched her chin and tipped her head up so that he can see her face. "That didn't look like nothing. Tell me, what is on your mind."

Liz hesitated for some time before asking: "How come we didn't do anything last night?"

Max looked at Liz innocently and blinked twice rapidly before speaking: "You expected us to do something other than what we did?"

Liz narrowed her eyes at him. "You know what I'm talking about."

Of course, he knows. But her embarrassed expression mixed with that defiant gaze is too cute, and he can't help himself. "I want to think that I know what is on your mind. But more than once you surprised me so… I would prefer if you tell me."

"I assumed that after returning to the suite, we will move on to the… next step."

Max smiled smugly. "You did?"

Liz exhaled in frustration. "I knew that it's not a good idea to tell you. Now you are teasing me."

"Liz, don't ever stop telling me what is on your mind. I have no intention of teasing you."

Max wanted to kiss her on the lips, but she turned her head sideways, refusing his kiss with a pout. He said that he is not teasing her, but his expression says otherwise.

Max smiled and continued moving closer, but because Liz's head was sideways, he kissed her neck, just below her ear.

His lips brushed over her skin softly, and the kiss was long, and he used his tongue, and his hot breath tickled, and Liz realized that her head is tilting on its own, giving Max a better access. The puppet master is back, pulling her strings and making her move like a marionette.

"Your scent is making me hungry… I feel like having you for breakfast…", Max murmured into her neck before resuming his kisses.

Liz heard him and as much as she was getting heated up, she thought about him being hungry, and breakfast, and Max eating HER up and she understood that he is talking about going down on her. Ah, if he kissed her a bit more she would be aroused beyond the point of caring what he says or does, but she is not there yet!

A vicious blush invaded her face and she pushed him away so that she can scramble off the bed.

"You are a beast!", Liz exclaimed while rubbing her neck where he kissed her a second ago.

Max sat up on the bed and looked at Liz in disbelief. What happened?

Liz saw his perplexed expression and pointed her index finger at him angrily. "Don't pretend that you don't know what I'm talking about. Having me for breakfast... How can you be so shameless?"

Max lifted his eyebrow questionably. "I thought you wanted to go to the next step."

"When the mood was right!", Liz exclaimed.

Max chuckled. "The mood was getting right." He extended his arms toward her. "Come here."

Liz took a step back. "No."

Max can see that she is not angry. She is just embarrassed. Ah, if he just went down on her without announcing it, it would all be fine. He exhaled in frustration and plopped back on the bed.

Liz looked at him cautiously. "Are you giving up?"

Seeing that he is not moving or responding, Liz slowly approached the bed.

Liz was startled when Max suddenly moved and reached to grab her. She screamed and dashed toward the living room with Max who was two steps behind her.

Max chased Liz around the furniture in the living room and she squealed while he laughed every time his fingers grazed her. Of course, he would catch her right away if he was rougher, but he didn't want to risk hurting her.

They stood on the opposite sides of the long coffee table, both panting with their eyes locked on each other. Liz saw that Max narrowed his eyes a moment before leaping over the table toward her, and she could only scream in surprise as his arms wrapped around her a second before they fell on the sofa.

"I will never give up on you.", Max breathed in her neck.

It took Liz a moment to realize that she asked him about it (few minutes ago).

Somehow, his words sounded like a promise. Again.

This time she felt it. Her heart moved, or maybe expanded. There was a tremble in her chest which told her that his words are true and that they reached their intended destination.

Her arms moved around him, and she whispered back: "I will not give up on you either."

Max closed his eyes and smiled while tightening his hold on Liz. He knew that things are falling into place because she is accepting him as part of her future.

Max opened his eyes when he felt Liz's breath on his lips. He eagerly returned her kisses which were sweeter than ever.

Liz pushed Max to sit, and she straddled him without breaking their kiss.

Two seconds later, Liz experienced a sensory overload: his lips on hers… his tongue caressing hers… his hands under her t-shirt, gliding along her back and pressing some points which sent sparks through her body… his palm grabbing her behind and pulling her toward him… her whole body shivering when she felt his erection at the cradle of her thighs…

And when she thought that is how far they will go for that morning, he pulled her t-shirt over her head and she heard him say: "Turn around…"

Liz was not sure what's on his mind, but she did as he asked and straddled him with her back facing him.
