My thoughts were interrupted by another volley of arrows. This time only two arrows were fired, which I easily dodged. I did not retaliate against them, Instead I fired several orbs into the nearest skeleton soldier. It's body fell to the floor, but did not disappear. Light shined in my eyed at the realization. The corpses had not disappeared. meaning their weapons were still here.
My mind began to race as I thought about that first devastating attack I recieved. The rain of fireballs that had blasted me at the beginning of the fight. Their had been a mage, and he was holding a staff!
After dodging the next volley I laid waste to another Soldier. Before its body could even hit the floor I dashed to the archers. Amongst their bodies was the key to our victory. My eyes widened as I finally saw the object I needed. It was a large bone staff. On the top of it was a skeletal hand holding a dark green orb. I quickly grabbed it, while at the same time holstering it.

A staff made from the bones of a powerful wizard. The staff increases damage dealt from spells cast by 200% and enlarging them by 100%.
Unlike a wand a staff seemed to increas the power of a spell, but did not effect the cast time. I could see why wizards would prefer these to wands. The casting time of my orbs had gone up to a quarter of a second per cast with the lost of my wand. But its accuracy would not drop and its damage and size would increase. This was perfect for the task at hand.
I quickly pointed the staff at the incoming soldiers, large poison orbs shot from the staff, each orb engulfing the head of the soldiers. In a mere second four of the skeletons fell to the floor. The remaining skeletons were finished off in mere seconds as I looked towards the main battle.
The Wraiths clumsy movements were getting closer to Alex with each passing second. Her speed had reduced to normal, and her attacks were even weaker. She could no longer even focus on attacking, and was putting all of her energy into dodging the attacks that came her way.
Hold on Alwx I screamed in my mind as I ran towards the fight. I cast my orb as I ran. each of the orbs flying towards the head of the wraith. The impact sent a hollowing ringing throughout the circular room we were in. The Wraith halted for a fraction of a second, but was soon struck again before it could recover.
My attacks did no damage to the beast, but the force was enough to halt the Wraith. Alex took advantage of this and made quick work of the Wraiths remaining arm.
With no way to counter attack, and in a constant state of stun, the wraith quickly fell to Alex's attacks. When it died the entire room disappeared, the bodies, the room, as well as the staff in my hands.
The voice of the goddess of war sounded in our ears. "As per our agreement you have defeated the Wraith. Its skull will replace the marble that once made my statue and become the statues new head. You Alexandra Fury have bore my consciousness and lived to tell the tale. For this your destiny has forever changed. This is my gift to you.

As the goddess spoke the mark appeared on Alex's face. It was A thick red line from the top left side of her face to bottom right. the line passed directly through her left eye. The mark was obvious, but did not take away from her beauty. Rather it gave a sense of fierceness that demanded respect.
"And you young necromancer, may your luck forever be in your favor. Because luck is a form of strength as well." As she spoke I could feel a change inside me. The [Lucky] trait I had was now changed.
