Versatile: Alternate World 20 Chapter 20

PK or player killings in Alternate World are minimized so that the casualty in the game is minimal and not totally excessive. The game gives a slight amount of experience if a player is killed and the player killed will suffer a loss of a level and the progress of their Exp bar, a drop of an equipment, a bit of money and a few items. But since players experimented a lot, they found a loophole of PKing a player back to level 0 and that is being accompanied by a player with a cleric class and has learned the skill "Revive".

That barbarous method is quite severe especially to players who got high levels already and suffered a lot to PK players. It would be lucky if they don't need to revive you, but you will be really unlucky if they started reviving you. So PKing can make a player bankrupt especially if most of their equipments has a huge chance of dropping after death and not all are bound.

Players reported this loophole to the GMs but the GM did not fixed it and stated instead that this loophole is just a minor problem and not really afflicting the game. In fact, it adds more challenge to the players. Players grumbled by this since they knew that the game wanted to earn their money as they can earn for those who wanted to get their equipment again which needs a lot of money.

The five players I ceaselessly killed and revive have been too poor that even their drops and a few potions that they acquire are all gone down to drain. Players who have nothing left can only choose to buy another set of equipment for real money which rich players that got killed a lot do and another method is begging to gain a new equipment and the worst are restarting the game from scratch. Most of the PK players gets red names but many can bypass those after the discovery of the black market goods that sells items that can hide your name and clear your red name back to normal.

Seeing that they no longer drop anything I decided to train instead. I used the Shadow Clone and used them as training dummies which they reacted. After grasping fully of the skill, I can finally control ten at once without difficulty. Seeing that I am done, I left the clearings. I did not revive them anymore and I finally allowed them to revive in the cathedral. I have to go back and finish the second chain quest of Simona and open the dungeon, Lesser Dungeon.

In the cathedral, the five depressed players are now revived into the cathedral. They sighed in relief seeing that they no longer appear in the clearings but in the cathedral. Everyone was traumatized by the experience of dying and being revive again and again only to experience the same loop. Now they can say they have temporarily feel how Subaru from the anime Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu felt being killed and revived.

But as they sighed in relief, their faces grimmed especially Sakujo. All of their items, equipments and even the exp that they have worked on are all gone down the drain. The player that they target to kill, killed them instead! What is more, thy can't run immediately as there is a delay in every revival and a split 3 seconds are needed before you can control your body back but that means vulnerable by that 3 seconds. What is more infuriating is the fact that they failed to see any player name above his head, only the indicator that he is a player.

"What the hell is the class of that player!? How come he can revive us without being accompanied by a cleric!? He is clearly a Magician class!" Sakujo grumbled.

"It's true. We all thought he is a Magician class since he is wielding a staff, but for freaking sake! His defense are top notch! Even I as a Paladin can't have a zero damage without using a shield!" The Expert grumbled.

"Not only that! His damage is too strong! A single skill he casted can one hit us all! Those numbers are impossible to achieve!" One Scope Kill contemplated.

"He must be a GM or a cheater to be able to achieve that," Monster Slayer said.

Healing Spammer,the bit sensible player analyzed it and realized something. He might be quiet earlier but he can explain in lengthy period.

"No, this game is quite unique. From what I can remember, this game has a unique class called Versatile. This class can use the skills of all class available in the game without problem. From what I heard, Versatile might be OP but to the fact that it needs extreme amount of experience to level up means its very hard to level up. I can say that he is a Versatile due to his skills. He casted two skills that is a magician skill which is Shocking Lightning and Ice Prison. He also used the skill Revive which is a Cleric skill. The last skill he used looks like a Ninja Skill, Shadow Clone and from the looks of it, he used us as a training dummy to control 10 Clones at once," Healing Spammer explained.

"Motherf*cker! I will hunt him down to the depths of hell!" Sakujo roared.

He doesn't need to hunt me to the depths of hell, In fact, I was already in the purgatory. It might be too brutal but I already did a lighter punishment to them. Most players that they victimized in the past and acted as cannon fodder were driven to despair and some committed suicide. Being killed thousand of times brings a lot of mental stress to players. Even I experienced it repeatedly, forced to suffer again and again. It's pretty painful and for players who have Thanatophobia or the fear of death, its enough to drive them crazy being killed. I managed to survive due to my mental fortitude and my perseverance though I took a lot of toll due to that. I already given chance to stop their future plans so that those lives that are wasted are not going to occur here due to them. An eye for an eye.

I kept the earrings back into my inventory. This item is too good to be true. However, I only need it if I needed to avoid being known by everyone. I am not a devoid PK player and I will only use it if the need arises. There will be a few events that will occur in the future in which you really need the effects of the earring. Otherwise, I will just let my Sword to devour it.

The Lesser Purgatory entrance which emits darkness and death. On the side of the Dungeon is the place where the Pole of Weakening is being stuck so that its effects occur. I pulled out the Pole of Weakening from my inventory into the specific area and put it to weaken its seal.

When the seal weakened, I can now enter the dungeon without the risk of being wounded. If you enter the dungeon without using the Pole of Weakening, you will have a huge risk of obtaining a damage, half of your health in which cannot be healed unless you escaped the dungeon or died in the dungeon.

Since this is the first time I entered a dungeon, difficulties are not yet shown and the normal mode is automatically chosen, however, on second time, the selection will appear which are the Normal, Hard, Hell, Ultra Hell and Abyss mode. I don't need to clear the Abyss mode yet since you really need a whole day to finish the dungeon. The Reality Verse is still not equipped with the Food and Nourishment pack that allows players to eat food in virtual reality that nourishes the player in real life. It is only installed two weeks later after the game release which means next week. That function will be beneficial especially to me who needs to rely on it especially on long dungeon raids where I will need a few days to continue on, also I am solo player, I can only rely on myself.

Before I enter the dungeon, I looked at my inventory and checked the weapons and armor. Seeing them all are normal tier, I decided to let the Versatile Weapon to devour them all. Its not worth to wear or sell. All of the equipments that those five buggers are all devoured but it barely raised the attack points of the weapon. It looks like it is a very low quality that only raised 10 points of damage to the sword. The sword did not even change appearance and still looked like the same Ryloz Sword. After everything is done, I stashed all of the drops I obtained from them so that I will sell them immediately whenever I reach a shop.

Entering the dungeon, the same surroundings once again appeared into me. I was greeted with the hot air that usually damp into my skin.

I quickly changed my weapon into Magic Sword. I already knew a few traps in Lesser Purgatory an I tap a few of the walls so that the traps will not activate. Lesser purgatory looks similar to a dark cave with a temple floor accompanied by skeletons on the floor and torches on the walls. There are also signs of burning walls and a few plants with flaming branches. Too practical to call purgatory.

I proceeded slowly. I know the first enemy will slowly appear soon.

I spotted 30 of them. This just a normal dungeon but this is already difficult. Players will think this dungeon is easy to conquer but no. I even need to be cautious against them. This will be my solo raid once more. I will show that I am going to rise up and finish what I started.

"Ice Prison!"

Ice crawl towards the target and freezes them. I didn't wait for them to get released in the ice and quickly cast a new skill.

"Shadow Clone!"

A shadow clone appeared out of my shadow and wield its sword. I controlled it along with my own movement and swish up my magic sword.

Different amount of damage appeared. I knew that they won't bring too much Exp at all but what I want is to clear the dungeon, finish the dungeon once again and return to clear Abyss Mode.
