It was none other than Amber Wood.

She came today with a delivery truck and what she brought?

It was none other than the best supplies there is.

Even Joseph Fox couldn't help but stare at her, even the computer was something that anyone would have wanted to have.

Despite being a technological company themselves, SNN was still smaller than Cooper.

"H- How did you get all this?" he asked as he entered her office.

The once plain looking one became an office suitable for a professional office worker.

"How? Well since you didn't want to give me anything, I can just get all these by myself right? Do you think I used the company's money for these?" Amber replied without looking at him.

She was focused on the computer in front of her. She was able to assemble it last night and checked a few things but was told to go to sleep by a certain someone when the clock strikes two in the morning.

In the end, she still woke up earlier than usual, around four in the morning but was once again reprimanded and was put back to sleep for another two hours.

Once again, Ashton felt like he was living with a child. She was way too excited for such simple things.

"Even that?" Joseph not liking the way he was being ignored approached her and asked.

"Don't get too close. We are not that close," Amber glared at him.

This shock Joseph for he didn't expect such reaction, so many ladies would love him to keep close to them but this person was actually glaring at him for getting a bit close to her table?

"Don't look like you are being wronged, I have seen more than you think I have that your look..."

She trailed off no longer continuing as the scene she saw flashed through her mind. But was instantly changed to what happened in Ashton's car.

'That guy, he really knew how to get revenge, now just by remembering what happened to this jerk's office, I would end up getting a flashback of his kiss.'

She instead focused on her computer no longer minding the one who remained standing on the side.

"That's right, for your announcement, it had already been spread and everyone already knew of it."

"Okay, thanks."

Her reply was so plain that Joseph couldn't help but to frown.

After becoming the general manager of this branch of SNN, he received more respect than when he was just a young master.

The respect together with so many ladies making moves with him, gave him a sense of superiority that everyone must respect him.

And now, faced with Amber's indifference, he suddenly felt a challenge.

A challenge that he must conquer this woman.

"I'm sorry about the things in your office, I really didn't expect for it to be so plain. I have reprimanded those who prepared it and was planning on ordering for tomorrow."

Amber just glanced at him, "I see."

"And-"

"I don't want to be rude but we still have a lot of work right? Why don't we return to it now? I will be giving you a call later for some documents," Amber stopped him from speaking.

"Give me a call?" Joseph felt a surge of anger inside him.

He was the general manager but why was it that this woman feels superior to him that even the way she talks, it's like she looks down at him?

"Yes, sir. Allow me to give you a call later," Amber heard his tone and did her best to change her own tone.

Changing it to a subordinate speaking to her superior.

He seemed to have calmed down because of it before nodding, "I'll just give you a call to come up later. I'll prepare everything you might need."

"I understand," was her reply but could feel goosebumps running in her skin when he suddenly smiled at her.

'Maybe I should fire him already?' she thought as he finally left.

In the end, she busied herself with the new computer, doing her best to change a few things regarding it, making it into her very own personal system instead.

Or making it much more secure than the normal ones.

It was not until she received a call in her telephone at around two in the afternoon did she realize that it was already so late.

She felt herself getting hungry as she picked up the phone.

"I've got all the things you should study, come up and pick it up."

His voice was nonchalant and she couldn't decipher anything from it. So without much thought she got up and stretched before going up to the floor above hers.

Right after getting out of the elevator, she saw his secretary glaring daggers at her.

She didn't bother and just walked towards the office but was stopped by the secretary's words.

"Acting all high and mighty on your first day of work but was actually just like the others on the second day."

She turned around and walked to the secretary's table placing her hand on top of it and moved her face a few inches away from the secretary's.

She flashed her sweetest smile that those who knew her would know that it was the most evil one of hers.

"By others, were you referring about yourself?"

"Wh"

"Be careful with everything that you do, you never know, there might be more than what meets the eye."

After giving her two taps in the shoulder, she stood straight and entered the office.

Francesca remained rooted to her seat not knowing what to think of what she just heard.

"Come have a sit," Joseph said pointing at the sofa opposite him.

He was not sitting behind his table but was instead in the sofa where he was accepting guests.

Amber didn't move near the door, after some thought she left the door open before walking close to him.

"I just need the files, sir. Then I will go back to work," she said with politeness.

"Come and have a sit, I know you haven't had lunch yet."

He replied with a gentlemanly smile.

"I may have not yet indeed gotten my lunch yet but my fiance already ordered some for me," she replied.

And just as she expected when he heard the word fiance, his face turned dark.

"You have a fiance?"

"Yes I do, for about seven years now."

"I was not informed at all," he replied.

"Am I supposed to declare everything? Can I now get the files? I need to return to work now."

He picked up the folders beside him before giving it to her.

As she took hold of it, she was surprised when he suddenly pulled it towards him, she almost lost her balance but thanks to her and Ashton's daily training she found her footing before falling to him.

"That's not a good joke sir," she commented as she stood straight.

Joseph smiled before really handing her the files.

He watched her retreating back landing on her behind.

Amber felt goosbumps as she felt this just in time for her to pick up her phone that suddenly rang.

"I can tell that you once again busied yourself with your computer that you still didn't have your lunch, so I had ordered some foods and sent it to you."

"Don't worry I won't get tired waiting for it, baby."

Ashton was stunned by how sweet her voice had become.

While Joseph's face turned darker, just who is her fiance?

Ashton squinted his eyes, "Are you perhaps being troubled by that man?"

Amber smiled as she closed the door behind her. The secretary was still glaring daggers at her but with uncertainty in her eyes.

"You really do know me very well, baby."

Francesca's face turned from shock to anger, she saw the mocking look from Amber when she uttered the word baby.

Amber was laughing inside, she was silently complimenting Ashton's timing.

"Should I show up?"

"Huh? Why do you need to show up? If telling him that I have a fiance was not enough, then someone showing up still will not be enough."

She heard him mutter, "It will."

"What will? Anyway, I will really be waiting for that lunch you just said. I won't say no to something free."

She finally returned to her office as they kept talking.

"But what did he do this time?" Ashton returned to the topic.

"Nothing much, he just loves flirting, that's all."

After closing the door behind her and sitting on her own chair, she heaved a sigh of relief.

She will never feel safe in this kind of environment, especially with such kind of person.

"Just be careful and stay inside your office as much as possible. I'll come and pick you up later. I'll wait outside, just give me a call if something comes up."

She once again felt a feeling of security from his words, something she only feel because of him.

Even the goosebumps a while ago have disappeared.

"I understand."
