UNLOCKING YOUR POTENTIAL 5 KEY 4: Companionship

Eccl. 4:9

God brings us together as a team in the Kingdom. The reason for being in the church is for spiritual companionship. What could ever make a believer abandon the gathering of the saints if not for the strategy of the enemy? The enemy wants to isolate us so he can fight us. If the man with one talent had gone to the other two, he would have learnt from them how to trade and make profit with what he had. But he isolated himself because he was competitive. He thought the master was not fair to him.

As a believer, don't isolate yourself because we will keep learning every day until we get to heaven. In II Kings 5:1-19, if Naaman had not heeded the advice of the young maidservant who directed him to go to Prophet Elisha in Samaria, he would have died a leper.

Naaman did not ignore the lady; rather, he left for Samaria as the maidservant had suggested. When Naaman got to Samaria expecting the prophet to lay hands on him for healing, he wanted to leave in anger because the prophet did not even come out to see him, let alone laying hands on him. Naaman would have gone back to Syria a leper if not for the word of caution from another servant.

...My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? How much rather then, when he said to thee, Wash, and be clean?

II Kings 5:13

Though he was the captain of the host of the king of Syria, Naaman had a listening ear. What helped him is good companionship.

Have a listening ear and consider issues properly instead of making up your mind rashly. While a tree does not make a forest; a forest is an association of trees. Even Jesus our Lord did not do His earthly ministry alone.

And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach. Mk 3:14

You can't run your life alone no matter how good you are. That is why it is dangerous for a man to ignore his wife. Even your children can contribute positively to your life. When you embrace team work, you get being praised by people for something others have done for you.

God knows the importance of companionship and that is why He instituted marriage. Some people are prone to suspecting others because of previous disappointments. Some have been brought up suspecting people because of past experience.

Don't think every man is a devil because a man once jilted you. If you have met disappointment, it means you have not met the right man. There are several godly men/women; all you need do is to pray for divine guidance for your spouse.

You need to relate with people at different levels. If you operate alone, you will be limited. On the other hand, if you choose to walk with wrong people, they will either kill you or kill your dream. Don't allow division; have a good companion.
