For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jer 29:11

God's plan for you is good; in the days and years ahead whatever God planned for you will come to pass. Evil spirit and principalities will have no power over your life in Jesus name.

The power that can penetrate and pull the stronghold of the devil in our nation, towns, houses, family, and lives is the power of prayer. Many Christian are facing situations and problems that are making them afraid; they are saying is God real with all the struggles they are passing through?

Some do not even know how to pray concerning their challenges because they are confused already; many have been attacked physically and mentally. Their strength seems to be gone, they are discouraged and doubting if God is still real and good.

You may currently be in a situation where you are pleading, why me? Some cry to God asking where His face is. It seems as if heaven has been closed like brass and as if prayers are not answered but beloved the devil is a liar.

David was crying at a time, asking why enemies are around him.

How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? For ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

Ps 13:1

This was the complaint of David. God has not left you alone, but you must pray. Look at Jesus our Lord, who is our model and pattern of prayer; before he went out to the front line, He spent time in his father's presence. When his father (God) revealed his will to him through prayer, he battled with forces of hell and he succeeded.

If not for prayer and fasting and commitment to purpose by Esther, the enemy would have wiped them off. Wickedness and evil thrive on earth because the righteous refused to do something! The devil wants to destroy the government, pervert justice, and establish immoral leaders and lawlessness. He wants to discredit Christian leaders in order to weaken godly influence in our cities and country, to silent voices, to destroy families, to turn husband and wife against themselves. We are not to allow him.

Esther used the instrument of prayer and fasting to drive the devil out of the battlefront. In these days, there are forces of evil and wickedness on earth, but know that where the eyes of the Lord covers, wickedness cannot prevail.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Eph 6:12

In the light of the above, we are not fighting against our neighbors, they are not our real enemies but against principalities, against powers, etc. So we need to pray to stand our ground against the spirit of violence, confusion, hate, fear, rebellion, lust, perversion and so on that wants to attack us.

A young man was caught having sexual affairs with a dog; he was asked why he did that, he replied he did not know what happened to him. This is because he was not born again so the devil possessed him. Demonic operation rules every ungodly people on earth. The more of God we know, the more we push the enemy out. No matter what the enemy had done against you in the past, he cannot do it again when you live for God.

Wherefore have we fasted, say they and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

Some people fast to show off and to receive honour from men. This is not the way to fast; such people have already declared themselves to people. The way and manner to fast is in Isaiah 58:6,

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

The power in fasting is propelled by righteous living. When that criterion is met, your fasting and prayer are energized to produce results. For your potential to be unlocked you will invariably contend with forces and fasting with prayer is inevitable.
