For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

Matt. 25: 14

God has delivered good things unto you; these good things are located in your spirit. Whatever you need to succeed in life has already been deposited in you already.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one: to every man according to his several ability; and straight way took his journey.

Matt 25:15

God gave each of us according to our abilities because He knows what we can handle; God has not been unfair to anybody. God is not a waster, if He has not given you more than what you have; it is because He knows that is just what you can handle.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed.

Mt 25:24

How can someone say such insolent words against his master? God who has invested a lot in you has a right to demand for accountability; how then would you turn to hate being accountable to your Maker? Everyone who excuses his failure will always have a reason. Every failure always give a reason; genuine or otherwise. Hear his excuse:

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth.

Mt 25:25

What was the response of his master?

His Lord answered and said unto him, thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knowest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents...And cast ye the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mt 25:26-30

Going forward, there are critical lessons to learn in this story:

1. Understand that we all have divine potential. Though it may be in different levels, there is no one that is not gifted. Therefore, there is no cause to envy others. Don't envy anyone because of what he has. There is no one on earth that God has not given something for exploit, increase and enlargement. The reason for self-pity and envy is because you have not yet discovered your own potential. God is a good God and He has been good to all.

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

Ps 145:9

2. It is your responsibility to release what is in you. Don't shift your responsibility to God. The word of faith and greatness is in your mouth, so release it.

...Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is to bring Christ down from above:) Or who shall descend into the deep? (that is to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach.

Romans 10:6-8.

3. You will give an account of the potential God has given you. God is a good accountant and He expects accountability from His children for whatever gift He has given them.

4. God is interested in your fruitfulness and enlargement. God will not ask you to multiply what He has not given you; so trade with what you have. Enough of murmuring and complain. Your potentials must be released before you can enlarge supernaturally. There is no doubt that the times are difficult; but no matter how difficult things are in the horizon, you should not allow discouragement.

REFLECTION

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Isa 54: 2-3
