Either way, it would take a while until they reached the magic city, so it was now time for Eisen to simply sit and spend quite a while inside of the carriage while making items, as long as he was awake.
Of course, since it was getting quite late, Eisen's body in the game felt quite tired, and as such he went to bed in the carriage's corner.
The next morning, Eisen quickly stretched before immediately getting to work on breakfast for the group. It wasn't anything special, just a number of sandwiches for the group made from ingredients that they bought freshly in Ornier before leaving. Again, it wasn't anything special, just some tomatos, lettuce, and thinly sliced pork as a replacement for bacon, which Eisen still didn't have the time to make. He would really need to construct a small smoker at some point. When everything was finished, Eisen looked out of the window in the front of the carriage at Bree and Sky.
"Hey, you two, breakfast is ready. Just stop the carriage by the side of the road, I'll give some oil to Cabarum and Aulu as well." Eisen told them quickly while already getting the oil for his two automata ready.
"Okay~!"
"Will do!"
The siblings said in tandem before Bree told Cabarum to slow down and then stop moving. It was still quite early, so it seemed like Komer, with a far lower endurance stat than Eisen, still needed to sleep for a while, considering that they went to bed at around the same time. But since it shouldn't be that long, he should wake up quite soon and join them for breakfast.
While Eisen distributed the food to his friends, he tried to give a sandwich to Caria as well, who simply refused by saying that she still didn't need to eat proper food. It did make sense, after all she only looked like a human, and was still a myconid in the end, meaning that she could still feed off the natural nutrients that she gained simply through contact with the ground, sunlight, and air.
After he gave everyone their food, Eisen stepped out of the carriage and told Aulu to follow, before disconnecting Cabarum from the carriage and placing down a bowl of oil on the ground for Aulu, and another one on the carriage's front bench so that it was reachable for Cabarun.
Once that was done, Eisen simply joined his companions for breakfast and began eating his sandwich. And as this was enough to sate his hunger, after cleaning up and talking to the group for a while, during which Komer finally woke up and joined them, Eisen began working on another project of his.
Mock-Golems.
And what was meant with the 'Mock' part, was quite simple, and it wouldn't be like the Mock-Golem cores that he made with the complex enchantment in Morrom's shop. Eisen wouldn't fully create a proper golem core, only adding the minimal amount of the two crystals that would give the golem a fake soul and mind, so that it could only fulfill minimalistic commands and couldn't dp anything other than walk where it was told to or do some simple motions like waving, hugging, and other simple stuff.
Because what Eisen would be making were dolls. Simple, small, Golem Dolls.
So that the Golems' performance wouldn't change depending on who was playing with them because of a golemancy skill, Eisen would activate them beforehand and simply tell them to listen to the command of whoever bought it.
For that, Eisen first got out his materials, tools and Alchemy distillation set, before starting to grind down a mana crystal as well as a tiny amount of the two other crystals that were needed, before mixing these powders with water, which was then simply distilled away, leaving Eisen with the base crystal for the golem core, that now only needed to be enchanted, for which Eisen got out the marbles needed for high-quality ability enchantment.
Once Eisen gave the crystal the necessary enchantments, he would have usually been finished, but now, instead of seeing this large crystal as the final product, Eisen began splitting small parts of it off with transmutation to form small, marble sized golem cores, since these would be far better for small dolls than the large crystal, and this would hopefully further make the effect of the golems resulting from these dwindle.
In the end, Eisen had about twenty of these.
[Tiny Lesser Golem Core]
[Quality – Perfect][Rank – 2]
[Description] A tiny golem core created by the Omni Craftsmaster Eisen. It has been made out of a larger golem core to use in smaller, less dexterous or less intelligent golems. Despite their effect being far less than a regular golem core's due to a different method of creation, as this was the intention, they are still perfect for their task.
[Effect] Connect to a small body when provided with Mana
With a smile at the successful creation of these golem cores that would be perfect for what Eisen had planned, and that had seemingly picked up on the reason they were created, he only needed to make the bodies.
What Eisen was planning for this were small wooden mannequins, like those that you may sometimes use as a sketching reference, with the golem core acting as the connector between upper and lower torso.
The reason that Eisen chose to go with these mannequins was quite simple. Not only were they just so simple in the way they looked so that nobody could see anything majorly bad in them, but they were also something like a 'Blank canvas', meaning that whoever bought them could easily decorate or paint them however they wanted.
If these should become popular enough, Eisen would of course make different types, like regular dolls or maybe even action figures.
But for now, Eisen would spend some time simply carving out small pieces of wood in the shapes and sizes that he needed. This didn't necessarily take all that long, considering how small each piece was, but because some of them needed a bit more detail than others and Eisen simply needed a large quantity of these, it did end up taking a few hours. In the end, the only differences between the dolls were that half of them were modeled after a man's build, while others were modeled after a woman's.
All of them were made up of the same light colored, oak-like wood, and Eisen was quite happy with the finished products, and would only need to try out how well everything worked. First, he roughly assembled the bodies, making sure that each body part was properly connected to the spherical wooden joints that would allow for proper movement through simply transmuting the joints and limbs so that they would slightly interject to a certain amount, not enough to hinder movement, only to make sure they couldn't easily be pulled apart and so that the Golem Core would see everything as a single body.
But since the golem core was one of the connectors, albeit the largest one, Eisen was wondering whether the golem cores would see the top half of the doll's body and its bottom half as a single body, or if he would need to do a little bit of re-designing first to make sure everything worked.
This was easily and quickly done by pressing both parts against the core in the way they were supposed to, and then pouring mana into the core itself.
And soon enough, Eisen could see that this luckily worked out quite well. The moment that Eisen activated the golem core, the joints of the tiny mannequin began twisting and turning around for a few seconds before settling down properly while the Golem-Doll stood up, simply standing there without doing anything or reacting to anything in any way whatsoever.
"Move forward." Eisen then immediately commanded, and the doll reacted instantly before starting to walk forward without a second, or even first, thought. It was somewhat similar to the way the Health-Doll Golem that Eisen made before moved, simply robotic and without any mind for itself whatsoever, which was exactly what Eisen was hoping for.
This meant that Eisen only had to do one more thing, simply put all the parts of the tiny mannequins together and then have them connect to a golem core each.
Not too long after Eisen started this, he already had a small army of these little guys standing on the worktable in front of him.
