Rise of the Legendary Emperor 97 King Harold and Princess Kate

Since lots of guards could attract unwanted guests towards the carriage, the carriage was only escorted by a small group of soldiers.

The carriage given to Don and Darlene was Emir's best which was used by the late King Hedor himself. Through the windows, Arrora could see the scenery changing from barren lands to grasslands and forests.

Arrora was sitting beside Don while Princess Darlene and Uncle Steve sat opposite of them.

"So tell me about yourself, Adria" Princess Darlene asked and Arrora recalled what Don had said previously about how to handle situations like this.

The journey to Korrinth was a long one so Don knew Princess Darlene would use this opportunity to get information on him and Everlight.

Lying was just skill like any others and Don knew very well about lying, the advice he gave before departing was 'a perfect lie should have some truth to it ' and Arrora decided to exactly that 

Princess Darlene kept staring at Arrora for her answer

"There's nothing much to say about myself, your royal highness. I was born in a small village near the outer lands"

Hearing Arrora's answer Darlene looked like she was surprised

"In the outer lands? Isn't that place overran with all kinds of dangers?"

Arrora shook her head "compare to the kingdoms, the dangers in outer lands are little your royal highness" 

Surprisingly Uncle Steve nodded when he heard Arrora while Darlene seemed not to mind Arrora's answer very much

"So how did you end up with King Don?"

Just like before Arrora took a moment before answering 

"Well, one day when I was roaming around I was attacked by a wild boar " for obvious reason the wild boar in Arrora's mind had the face of Minister Bryan

"Wild boar?" Princess Darlene frowned while Arrora continued

"Don't underestimate those vial magical creatures, your royal highness, if it wasn't for his majesty I would be dead or worse"

Princess Darlene snickered inside but didn't show any emotions on her face

"After that, his majesty took me under his wings, gave a home and I'm following his majesty since then"

" Tell me Adria, do you have magic academies in Everlight? I mean I met Glacia and she was quite a rare talent" 

Again Arrora shook her head 

"No, your royal highness we don't have such academies in Everlight but we do have a small school "

Princess Darlene's face somewhat brightened

"Oh? What's it called?"

 "Knight's school" 

Princess Darlene noted the name in her mind to search for information after she had reached Korrinth.

The Princess seemed like she had asked enough questions as she started to look at the scenery outside through the carriage windows.

After hearing about Arrora saying that she was attacked by a wild boar, it was unlikely she would be powerful and strong as Glacia or Darlene herself so she did not go into asking about Arrora's life energy cultivation level.

Even powerful, rich kingdoms had only one or two heaven-defying talents and Princess Darlene took pride in the point that she was an exception since she was born in just a small kingdom like Korrinth. And although Glacia couldn't be compared to Princess Darlene, she still recognized Glacia's talent thus she knew it was unlikely that Everlight could have more talents like Glacia.

The more Princess Darlene kept thinking about it the more she realized that King Don could be nothing like the exaggerated rumors she heard from her spies, initially she heard that he controlled an explosion which was said to be a trump card of King Hedor but now she knew she heard wrong. It was normal to hear wrong or exaggerated information from spies or she thought.

As far as she was concerned he was nothing but a king of a small kingdom and that's why he couldn't properly conquer Emir with his soldiers but pulled some kind of trick or made a deal with King Warren to swore loyalty towards him.

"They are totally wrong about this puny king" Princess Darlene reminded herself.

"What the hell do you mean you can't find her?!!!!" It was King Harold, Princess Darlene's father who was shouting at a soldier sitting on his throne.

King Harold was neither too tall nor too short, he had shoulder-length blonde hair and beard with broad shoulders and muscular frame.

Because of the fact, his daughter ran away from the kingdom, his eyes turned red and veins kept swelling on his forehead.

"Father, please calm down.I'm sure that sister will come back soon"

"Yes Harold, our soldiers are scouring through the kingdom and neighbor kingdoms. Soon they will find her"

The queen and princess Darlene's younger sister tried to calm King Harold but it seemed their words were not effective in calming the king.

"It's my fault I spoiled her too much, what am I going to tell the Agorians?"

"Agorians are the reason that sister ran away in the first place" Princess Kate reminded King Harold as the king sighed heavily

"It was her duty as a princess to marry a prince, Kate and so do you in the future"

Princess Kate frowned and stomped her foot on the ground

"Even the peasant girls are marrying their loved ones, why do we have to marry some spoiled rich brat?"

"Katie don't talk to your father like that" Queen Bella said with a firm voice while King Harold ignored what Kate just said and leaned on his throne.

King Harold seemed so angry right now and Queen Bella feared he would even take his anger out on Kate if she behaved like the way as usual.

Nobody in the throne hall said a word for a moment,

"I'm sorry father" Princess Kate walked towards the throne hall and placed her hand on King Harold's shoulder and said.

"We at least deserve someone who can protect us father, not the other way around. The way I've heard, the Agorian prince is not even a great-master then how could he protect big sister" as Princess Kate said but King Harold didn't turn his head to look at Kate

"He'll be only a disgrace to big sister and to himself if they marry"

"And I WILL BE A DISGRACE IF I CAN'T KEEP MY FATHER'S PROMISE"

King Harold's shout reverberated through the throne hall as Princess Kate jumped back in shock seeing her father's outburst, King Harold was shaking in anger

"Harold please calm do"

"Don't you dare say calm down Bella"

King Harold couldn't even imagine the scene in which he was bowing his head down in front of King of Agoria saying his daughter ran off before the wedding.

"I've spoiled her too much, does she think she can do anything just because she was blessed by the heavens!!?"

Even though he was proud of Princess Darlene and her talent, it was not enough to make him kneel down before Agorians or break his father's promise to the previous king of Agoria. King Harold was proud and arrogant that he would rather marry his daughter to the Agorian prince and keep his word as a king rather than break union and bow down.

"You've said it yourself father, she is blessed by the heavens. Her future achievements will be countless, but if you marry her to that worthless prince she will be caged like a bird" Princess Kate held her ground against her father and pointed it out to her father in a strong tone

"In two months the Cold Moon Palace starts taking in the disciples and big sister will surely get in as an inner disciple when that happens no one can stop her father not even you" 

King Harold gritted his teeth as turned his gaze towards Kate and punched the throne's arm

"Do you think the Agorians aren't aware of that? If your sister doesn't return they will use this as a reason to declare war against us"

Princess Kate didn't assume but she knew the Agorians will declare war against them and her father just said was correct as King Harold continued

"When that happens we will be destroyed and a king who can't keep his word doesn't deserve to be a king at all"

"So you would rather see her marry to that worthless prince than to break a union that made by two dead old men"

"What did you say?" King Harold exhaled heavily and stood up from his throne, he was burning with anger inside when he heard Kate disrespecting his father by calling him a dead old man.

"Please forgive her Harold, she didn't mean it" Queen Bella rushed towards Harold and pleaded him as Princess Kate stood there without moving disregarding her father's anger

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!!!!!"

King Harold's angry shout echoed through the walls of the throne hall. Princess Kate knew she just overstepped her boundaries and disrespected her grandfather in frustration but she was not going to cry and beg like her mother.

King Harold took a step forward towards Kate shoving Queen Bella aside but he stopped when he saw a soldier running towards him and kneeling before him

"Your majesty, Princess Darlene was spotted at the city gates and according to the guards, she's coming here"
