And when he reached the dense bushes, he suddenly heard a rustling sound behind it as he immediately raised forward his spear while frowning.

"Darmord?! Is that you?" He called out cautiously, afraid that it might be a monster or bandit. However, he received no response at all.

The rustling on the bushes goes on, made him more unease. 'Damn! What or who could be behind these bushes?!'

Curious about what's behind it, he raised his guard as he heightened his senses before carefully and slowly advanced forward while making the slight noise he could muster.

"Who's there?!" He shouted when he heard a faint movement behind it. Nevertheless, there's no response once again.

Frowning deeply, he cautiously observed every slight movement on the surroundings when he suddenly caught a glimpse of a humanoid silhouette on the ground that hastily passed behind him.

"Who?!" He blurted out after a quick spun, executing his well-trained movements. However, there's no one on it, which caused him to be nervous.

Narrowing his eyes, the guard intensified his awareness, nervous at what might happen.

He heard a rustling sound once again beneath the bushes, frustrating him even more. 'Show yourself!'

Carefully turning back, he could discern that what's behind the bushes is about to come.

'It's coming!' He exclaimed in his mind as he clenched his spear while focusing his eyes on the bush.

A soft squeaking sound rang out behind the bushes, followed by a pouncing small pale white creature with two long ears that reached the ground.

'Horned rabbit?!'

The guard heaved a sighed in relieved when he saw the small creature that had the appearance of a common rabbit. However, this monster had crimson eyes and a single white horn like a unicorn's horn.

"Whew~ It's just a horned rabbit but.. Where the heck Darmord went to?" He grumbled in annoyance as he watched the horned rabbit pounced away, back to the wild forest.

Horned rabbit is a neutral monster, they won't attack you, unless you attacked them first.

When suddenly, deafening zigzag lightning struck in the sky, causing a reverberating sound and bright light that lit up the dark area where the guard's standing, as he saw the shadow figure stretched on the ground, indicating that this person is currently standing behind him.

"Darmord?" He softly called out as he slowly turned around. Yet, once again, he failed to found anything.

"Am I seeing ghost?" He wondered as he shook his head in embarrassment to have a silly thought. "Haha, what the heck am I thinking? It's impossible..."

As he laughed in embarrassment, a big hand suddenly grabbed his left shoulder which startled the laughing man in horror.

"Who—fuck you! Where have you been?" He bellowed furiously when he discovered who's the owner of the hand that grabbed his shoulder out of nowhere.

"Oh, I'm sorry for surprising you. Hehe."

"Sorry your face! Where did you go?!" The furious guard replied in resentment. To be surprised by his colleague who's younger than him was not a laughable matter, he, who's a guard for already a number of years. Already honed his senses to a certain degree, which saved his life for a couple of times. However, he failed to perceived his younger colleague's presence.

"About that, I heard a rustling sound earlier behind those bushes, so I came to check who's making that noise and found a small horned rabbit. Though I tried to capture it, It was too quick for me, Hehehe." Darmord explained as he laughed awkwardly while scratching the back of his head.

'Acting is an arduous job!' Kim Shin who's using the face of the Yggdramerean's guard he killed earlier grumbled in his mind.

"Tell me what is it and I will deliver it to the chief!" The long black-haired guard demanded.

'It seems like an important message, If I could report this personally, then, I'll be able to get the favorable impression of the chief...' The black-haired guard thought as he imagined himself in a higher position than his current position.

The other guard with pale green hair and round runes on his bangs, frowned when he understood his fellow's intention.

"That's right, tell it to us so you won't need to exhaust yourself."

Hearing this, the black-haired guard looked beside him and his eyes locked with his fellow guard before nodding their head in agreement.

Of course, Kim Shin witnessed this and he could understand their scheme, as he couldn't help but smirk at their stupid plan.

"The Captain need every guard in the village..."

"Why the captain need everyone?!" The pale green-haired guard interrupted Kim Shin's words.

"Beast hordes..." Kim Shin's simple answer stunned the two guards.

"N-No way, it's not the time yet!"

"You're spouting nonsense!"

They strongly denied the truthfulness of Kim Shin's words. Since, they knew that beast hordes only occur before the end of the year.

"Then, don't blame me if captain cut you two in half!" He stated which silence the two guards, as they uncontrollably shivered in horror.

'Eh? What's wrong with them?' Kim Shin confusedly thought. Unbeknownst to him, the captain of the guards is a cruel person and an ugly yggdramerean that could beat even a goblin in ugliness competition.

"H-How many monsters this time?" The black-haired guard asked as he got back to his senses.

"Approximately 10,000..."

"TEN THOUSAND?!" The two guards blurted out at the same time, unable to believe Kim Shin's answer.

Seeing their reaction, Kim Shin urged them, pushing their anxiety on the next level, "Hurry! Or else we're all going to die!"

"Yes! Yes!" They immediately answer as they hastily ran inside the manor.

"Hahaha, idiots!" Kim Shin chuckled as he watched the two guards hurriedly scampered to their chief's manor.

Hurried footsteps filled the narrowed hallway, followed by a hasty knocking sounds of the door.

"Chief! Chief! Sorry to disturb you, but I brought a big matter to report."

"Chief?!" The black-haired guard called out once again when he didn't receive a response.

"Shut up! I can hear you!" A raspy voice resounded from the room which scared the two guards.

The doorknob clicked, indicating that the person inside the room was about to open the door. This simple sound forced the two guards to took a single step backward as they faintly trembled.

A 2 meter-tall man in a pale-green hooded robe appeared out of the dark room and stared his emerald eyes like a cat toward the two shivering guards.

"State your business, if that's a trifling matter, I will cut you two in half!"

The two guards couldn't answer immediately but began to pushed each other who's going to report.

"Continue doing that, then, you two will only have a few moments to live." Their chief's raspy and threathing voice stunned the two guards, as they immediately kneeled down at the same time.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Forgive us."

"Please have mercy, chief!"

"State your business!"

At the loud voice of the village chief, the black-haired man hurriedly answered, afraid to incite the anger of their chief. "Captain Khrusz was asking for every guard in the village to block the incoming beast hordes!"

"Beast hordes at this time?" The village chief narrowed his eyes, doubtful at the guard's words.

"Yes!" The guard nodded in response

"Are you certain about that?!"

"Yes, sir!" The guard answered without thinking. All he wanted to do is flee away from their chief's presence.

"How many beasts is coming?" The village chief asked calmly. He's not afraid of what's coming.

"Approximately... T-Ten thousand, sir..."

"WHAT?!"

"If I found you lying to me, I promise to make you feel more than death!"

"N-No sir. I won't dare." The guard hurriedly denied.

"Just make sure that you're not messing with me." The village's chief stated as he glared at the two guards before continuing, "What are you waiting for? Gather all the guards. Hurry!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Roger!"

The two guards loudly answered as they crawled outside.

"Hurry! If you all don't want to be whipped, move your asses!"

A roaring order could be heard around the village and the manor, which clearly heard by Kim Shin whose couldn't help but rose the corner of his lips and form a smile.
